Mariners Lose Season Opener

We could say the Mariners started
the season with a little bump in the
road losing the season opener 6-4
at home against the Boston Red Sox.

The Red Sox looked more like we
hope the Mariners will look  for the
season.

Luis Castillo  was only able to go
five innings giving up four runs.
His fastball  looked good however
he threw 75 percent of the time.
A bit higher than expected. He
must have not been comfortable
with his offspeed pitches. We hope
a better result in his next outing.

The  Mariners got their four runs
on two two-run homers by Mitch
Haniger and Dylan Moore. Mitch's
homer in the 4th inning putting
the Mariners within down 3-2.
The Red Sox  scored four straight
innings which is the reason they
won. They had a two-run homer
in the third followed by single
run in fourth, fifth and sixth
inning.

Dylan Moore  had his homer in
the seventh  inning pinch hitting
for Dominic Canzone and stayed
in to play left field. If Moore keeps
hitting  like he did in spring training
and now the first game of the
season  we will see a lot of him.

Friday  night George Kirby will start
for the Mariners.  We hope for a win
the column. The Texas Rangers were
the only team in the American League
West  to win Thursday  beating the
Chicago Cubs at home 4-3 in 10
innings. Go Mariners!
