Russell Wilson and the Pro Bowl

I am not sure how many fans are interested
in the Pro Bowl. As a player it is an hour to
be chosen whether you play or not.

I haven't watched many of the Pro Bowl's
over the years. Most of the time I don't
even think about the game. The Pro Bowl
really isn't played like a regular football
game. It is all about how many points each
side can score.

Anyway, Russell Wilson was named too the
Pro Bowl to take Tom Brady's spot.

I am sure a lot of talk will still be whether
Wilson be back as the Seahawks qb in 2022.
We do know he has a no trade clause as well.
So, stay tuned and if you desire see Wilson
in the pro bowl.

Huskie Win and more

The Washington Huskies beat Utah
Saturday afternoon at home, however,
it took two overtimes to do so.

The final was Washington 77 Utah 73

The Huskies are tied for 4th with
Oregon in the Pac-12. If they continue
on they may actually make the Pac-12
tournament which is a big surprise.

Terrell Brown Jr Huskies and Pac-12
leading scorer had 30 points. He was
the reason the Huskies won having the
ball in his hands most of the time.

This was Utah's 10th straight loss though
they didn't play that way. Shows how
the Huskies played because in the past
they may have lost to a team on a long
losing streak.

The Washington State Cougars take on
Colorado at home on Sunday. They have
a 4-3 Pac-12 record. They had several
games cancelled because of covid. Those
games should be made up depending on
how the season goes.

The Seattle Kraken were scheduled to
play the Islanders in New York, however,
the game was postponed because of a lot
of snow. The game is expected to be made
up on this coming Wednesday. They are
expected to play Sunday against the Rangers.
Have to see how it goes since New York
had more snow.

Still not sure whether the Mariners or major
league baseball will start spring training on
time or not. I really hope they iron things
out. Both sides should not be so selfish to
forget the fans that allow them to do well
in the first place.

The Seahawks as far as I know still haven't
named their defensive coordinator yet. It
is possible they are waiting for this weekend
of the playoffs be over. There will be a one
week break before the Super Bowl.

Mariner Starting Pitching

We should be excited about the starting
pitching for the Seattle Mariners going
into the 2022 season.

Robbie Ray: The Seattle Mariners signed
just before the lockout as a free agency.
The 2021 Cy Young award winner will
be the Mariners ace. Ray was 13-7 with
Toronto with an era of 2.84 in 32 games.
He struck out 248 batters in 193 and 1/3
innings.  The Mariners had to replace
Yusei Kikuchi in the rotation and not a
better pitcher to do so. Like Kikuchi he
is a lefty as well.

Marco Gonzales: Another lefty will
probably start the season as the Mariners
number two starter. In 2021 he had a
poor start 1-3 in April then missed the
month of May because of injury. In
June Marco had another mediocre
month pitching four games with a
0-1 record and an era of 4.66. In
July another bad month though did
have a record of 2-1 in four starts
with an era of 6.41. August, we saw
the Marco of old where he had a
record of 3-0 with an era of 1.58 in
six starts. In September with the
Mariners looking toward the playoffs
possibility Marco had a record of 4-0
with an era of 3.90. Had one start in
October where the Mariners lost.
In all Marco had a record of 10-6
with an era of 3.96. If we can see
a healthy Marco in 2022 should be
good for the Mariners.

Logan Gilbert: Former first round
pick in his rookie season. May end
up the second-best pitcher in the
rotation by the end of the season.
Depending on how the Mariners
decide how the rotation goes Gilbert
could pitch after Ray. Gilbert came
up in the middle of May. Along with
August they his worst two months.
If we see the pitcher of June, July
and September it will a very good
Gilbert we see. As you know rookies
do have their growing pains. I see
him being the Mariner second best
pitcher of the season.

Chris Flexen: He was the Mariners
best pitcher for the season after
coming over from Korea in 2021.
The Mariners signed him as a free
agent after the season he had in
2020 in Korea. Flexen was durable
without missing a start for the 2021
season. Flexen had 31 starts with
a record of 14-6 and era of 3.61.
If Flexen even comes close to that
record again in 2022 the Mariners
should make the playoffs especially
if they have a better offensive team.

The Mariners should be going with
a five-man rotation. Hard to know
whether they will pick up another
starter or not. At this point candidates
are Matt Brash right-handed pitcher
the Mariners picked up in a trade at
deadline in 2020 for reliever Taylor
Williams who was the teams closer
at the time. Brash began the season
at high level-A then made it up to
double-A Arkansas. Had the Mariners
not trying to make the playoffs Brash
may have pitched for them in September.
The Mariners are hoping he will be
the teams fifth starter. Other possibilities
are Justus Sheffield, Justin Dunn who
both missed time with injuries along with
having poor seasons, and lefty Nick
Margevicius who was injured late April
and missed the rest of the season. Nick
started the season in the bullpen when
Dunn beat him out for the sixth spot.
Nick had three starts after taking over
for James Paxton after he was injured
in his first start of the season.

Next up when tackling the Mariners
will be the bullpen. The reason the
Mariners had a successful 2021 season.
They could even be better this season.
Go M's.

Huskies and Kraken Win

The Washington  Huskies  beat Colorado
Buffaloes at home Thursday night 60-58.

Colorado  led by one at half time but the
Huskies were able to  hold on to win. This
was after being blown out by Oregon last
weekend.

Terrell  Brown  Jr continues to lead in
scoring having 26 points. Emmitt  Mathews
Jr had 15 points.  He led the Huskies with
11 rebounds as well.

The Huskies  need to  get more scoring out
of the other players as they combined for
19 points. The Huskies are tied with Oregon
in 5th place in Pac-12 conference at 5-3.
The Ducks lost to Colorado on Tuesday 82-78.

The UCLA  Bruins are on top of  conference
beating  Arizona 75-59 on Tuesday. They followed
beating California 81-57 Thursday and play
Stanford on Saturday.

The Seattle Kraken beat Pittsburgh Penguins
2-1 in overtime.  Neither teams scored the first
two periods before getting  a  goal each in the
third period.  The Kraken began a four game
road trip. They face the  New York  Islanders
on Saturday followed by the NY Rangers on
Sundays.  The road trip  ends Tuesday night
against the Bruins in Boston. Next home game
next Wednesday  against  Arizona  Coyotes.
 Go Kraken!

Mariners Catching

As major league baseball and the players union
are still negotiating which is a good sign anyway
we will look at the Mariners catching position.

I expect Cal Raleigh will be the everyday catcher.
The backup catcher will be either Tom Murphy
or Luis Torrens who will play elsewhere as well.

We hope like Kelenic Raleigh will have a good second
season after getting used to the majors.

Coming into spring training he will have more
knowledge of the pitchers along with the opposing
hitters so his offense should pick up.

At this point Tom Murphy would be the backup
going in against left-handed pitchers how Raleigh
is doing. There is a possibility the Mariners may
trade either Murphy or Torrens.

Offensively catcher was the weakest spot last
season on the roster. It would be nice if Murphy
or Torrens could pick up their offense along
with better defense as well. At this point Raleigh
is the best defensive catcher as well.

The Mariners could look at picking up someone
else to backup Raleigh too. The Mariners have
to give Raleigh the chance to see if he is the
catcher for the long term or not.

Next time up on the Mariners will look at
the starting pitching.  In the weeks ahead
especially if spring training does start on
time or even not I will look at individual
players.  Go M's.

Huskies Land LB

The Washington  Huskies  needed
to get a linebacker with  experience
after a  couple  of transfers. I expect
they will look for recruits to add on.

The Huskies  have now transfer
Cameron Bright who comes over
from University of Pittsburgh.
Bright played four years at Pittsburgh
and was a captain. We will learn
more about him.

I hope he is good  at stopping the
run where the Huskies have lacked
the last several years.

Kraken Win Huskies Lose

The Seattle Kraken have now won four
out of their last five games after losing
nine straight. On Sunday they beat the
Florida Panthers the team with the best
record in the NHL 5-3 on the Kraken's
home ice. We hope this leads to having
a good season.

The Panthers scored in the first period
which had been the Kraken's downfall
all season having to find a way to get
back into the game. The second period
the Kraken scored three goals while
the Panthers had two. Third period
which has been the Kraken's downfall
as well they actually shut out the Panthers
2-0. Way to go Kraken.

The Huskies who have had trouble with
the Ducks since Mike Hopkins became
head coach lost again this time 84-56.
Hopkins still wasn't on the side lines
because of Covid. He may be back when
the Huskies return home on Thursday.

The Huskies had a terrible first half
scoring only 13 points while the Ducks
had their way going for 48 points. The
Huskies did have a good second half
scoring 43 points but as you can imagine
not enough to overcome a disaster first
half.

Terrell Brown Jr led the Huskies in
scoring with 14. Way below his high
average and Emmitt Mathews Jr who
is putting in a good season for Washington
had 12 points.

The Huskies play Colorado at home on
Thursday who they lost on the road earlier
in January followed Utah who they beat.

News came out Aaron Dumas running
back at New Mexico State is transferring
to Washington. Dumas had a big game
against Fresno State during the 2021 season
though they lost. Huskies head coach Kalen
DeBoer obviously didn't forget at Dumas.

The Huskies are looking Dumas to bring
experience to the running game and he
was three years of eligibility as well. Now
see if he can run against Pac-12 teams.
Go Dawgs!

Seahawk Sunday

We know  the Seahawks are not in
the playoffs.  How much joy did you
have seeing the 49ers beat the Green
Bay Packers with a last second field
goal.

We may actually see the 49ers and
the Rams play in the NFC championship.
The Rams will have to knock off Tampa
Bay which won't be easy. Whatever
match up there is the championship
should be a good one.

I expect the Seahawks should be naming
the new defensive coordinator soon.
Whoever it is  they still need to go out
and get some better players. Go Hawks! 😁😁

Whose on Third

As we go along position by position as the
MLB lockout continues. Hopefully be over
soon.

We know third base would be occupied by
someone else besides Kyle Seager after a
decade. I am not sure everyone expected
Kyle to retire, however, now he can spend
quality time with his family.

I am sure we will see Kyle and his family
during the upcoming season to acknowledge
his time in Seattle and being a long time
Mariner. Not many have spent their hole
career as a Mariners. Actually Edgar Martinez
is the only other player coming to mind.

Right now, third base looks to belong to
Abraham Toro. Of course if the Mariners
sign a free agent infielder this can change.

There is talk of signing Trevor Story. He
could play either second or third and on
occasion shortstop to give Crawford a
day off.

Kris Bryant is another one. He has played
third base most of his career though sometime
in the outfield.  Defensively he won't remind
us of Kyle though. Most of the free agents
won't remind us of Kyle.

The Mariners still have utility player Dylan
Moore as well. He could play some third
base for the Mariners to.

It will be odd to see someone else at the
hot corner but it was going to happen this
year anyway.

We see what happens and how much
improvement helps as far as the offense
goes.  Go M's.

Huskies Win On the Road

The Washington Huskies men's basketball
team who got off to a rough start on the
season are now starting to jell. They beat
Oregon State on the road 82-72.

The Oregon State Beavers are not an easy
team to beat especially at home but the
Huskies found a way to do it. The Beavers
had a two point lead in a tight game in the
first half leading 38-36.

The Huskies pulled away with around
12 minutes remaining in the game and
never sacrificed the lead again. We hope
this will be a good ride for them.

Head coach Mike Hopkins wasn't at the
game because he came down with covid.
Will Conroy assistant coach and former
Husky player ran the show. It certainly
looks like the Huskies enjoy playing for
him.

Terrell Brown Jr who leads the Pac-12
in scoring led the Huskies with 27 points.
Another player I like Emmitt Mathews
Jr had 16 points.

The Huskies are expected to play OregonGo
on Saturday, however, the Ducks game on
Thursday against Washington State Cougars
was postponed because of covid among the
ranks of the Cougars. The game between
Cougars and Beavers has been postponed
for Saturday as well. Interesting the
Cougars have same issues on their women's
basketball team as well with both of their
games against Oregon schools postponed to.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs beat San Francisco
Dons at home Thursday night 78-62. Drew
Timme led the Bulldogs with 23 points
followed by Chet Holmgren with 22. Holmgren
Also had nine rebounds as well. It was the
Bulldogs 62nd straight win at home. Quite
a feat I would say. The Bulldogs have a week
off before playing Loyola Maramont.

Kraken, End Losing Streak

The Seattle  Kraken  finally end their
nine game losing streak beating the
Chicago Black Hawks at home 3-2.

It wasn't  easy they had to go into
overtime and then won in a shootout.

We hope this will  be  a  turnaround
for the Kraken.

In other local sports it looks  like
Ken Norton Jr  will be out  as defensive
coordinator. I have to say not a big
surprise.

It will be interesting to see who the
next coordinator will be.  We do know
since Pete Carroll is a defensive coach
it with  be someone  who will run his
defense. Stay tuned!

Look at Seahawks ahead

We know over the next several weeks and months
what changes will happen.  I know everyone will
have opinions to.

The first will be about Russell Wilson like it is every
off season whether he will stay or go. To be honest
I am tired  of it. I expect he will  return unless some
team offers something the Seahawks can't turn down.
It sounds like a soap opera doesn't  it.

Running back  will the Seahawks be able to sign Rashaad
Penny to a new deal or will he go elsewhere. We will see
what happens. Chris Carson  return this coming season
and play healthy all year. We will see on that one too.

Next up will Pete Carroll stay as coach. I am sure some
want him to leave. Not sure it will happen. Most likely
there will be change to his assistants and I am sure we
will know soon one way or another.

Bobby Wagner made second team all-pro at middle
linebacker.  The question Is he to expensive to keep.
The Seahawks will have to make the decision especially
if they want to add depth to the roster. We may know the
answer  soon on that one too.

We will look at the Seahawks in the  weeks to come. Can
they return to the playoffs with most of the roster intact.
Not only the playoffs but to the  Super Bowl which is
always the goal.

Huskies Men Win Again

The Washington  Huskies  beat Stanford
Saturday afternoon 67-64.

Like theyv have all season long they play
inconsistent ball offensively. They won
the game with their defense  causing
Stanford to turn the ball over 21 times.

Jamal Bey had an outstanding  first half
scoring all his season high 17 points.
Bey is frustrating to watch since he never
plays the game all out offensively. He
disappears. Why he can't stop shooting
when he is  hitting  well is anyone's guess.
My opinion  the coaching staff need to
get on his case or maybe they do and he
doesn't  listen.

The last ten minutes  of  the game the
Huskies didn't score a single field goal.
Without a large lead in the first half
they would have lost. Have to give
Stanford  defense some credit as well.

Next Thursday and Sunday the Huskies
will be in Oregon to play the Beavers and
Ducks.  Won't be easy for them. Have to
play their A game.

The Washington  State Cougars beat
California  Golden Bears 65-57. Sophomore
Andrej Janimovski came off the bench
scoring 17 points including four three-pointers.
The rest of the team made only two of 15
behind the 3-point line on the night.

The Cougars are now 3-3 in pac-12
eight place behind Washington and
Stanford at 3-2. They to will the Oregon
schools next week.

Gonzaga continues winning  beating BYU
Thursday night 110-84 and Santa Clara
Saturday 115-83. They only play one
game  this coming week on Thursday
at Pacific.

The best to all three teams coming up.

Seattle Mariners Shortstop

JP  Crawford is  expected again to be
the Mariners  shortstop. Crawford has
become one of the  top  shortstop in
the American  League.

Crawford  has become  a very good
defensive  player along with  his
offense  improving each season  to.
He is one of the leaders  on the
team as well.

The  Mariners are still lookng  to sign
a free agent infielder.  If  they are able
to  sign someone  like Trevor  Story
he play second base likely however
be at shortstop when  needed.

The  Mariners sign Kris Bryant  instead
than likely  Dylan Moore  will  be the backup
shortstop. Staying  healthy Crawford should
start again at least 150 games. Go Mariners!

Friday, January 14, 2022

Seattle Kraken Nine Losses

Thursday night the Seattle  Kraken  lost
to the St. Louis  Blues 2-1. It is now nine
losses in a row.  Now they have a record
of 10-22-4.

The Kraken  take  on  the  LA Kings at
home. Before the  season  the Kraken
ownership  said the team would compete
for a playoffs. I  am  sure  fans are disap-
pointed in the team and I  am ownership
is to.

The loss to the  Blues  were like many
other losses where the Kraken  had a
poor performance  in  the third period.
The Kraken  need to  perform  much
better  in the  second half  of the  season
to give  hope for  next season.

Jordan  Eberle  was named to this year's
All-Star team. Also the expansion team's
first round pick in the 2021 draft Mattey
Beniers will representative the USA in
the 2022 Olympic games. Beniers is
still playing  for  Michigan. Most likely
will next  season  too. Go Kraken!

Thursday, January 13, 2022

Huskies Men Win

The Washington men's basketball team
beat California Golden Bears at home on
Wednesday night 64-55.

Huskies did well by getting off to a good
start going on a 19-10 run and finished
the game well 17-4 run. Outside of that
they likely wouldn't have won the game.

Terrell Brown Jr the Huskies leading
scorer had 21 points. Most of the points
were in the second half where he had
18 points.

Despite the good start the Huskies were
behind 34-27 at half time. The Huskies
need to find a way to play more consistent.
They are now 2-2 in Pac-12 play and
7-7 overall. It shows why they are inconsistent.

Nate Roberts had a good game being the only
other player than Brown in double figures with
10 points and he had 12 rebounds as well.

The Huskies did well in rebounding overall
compared to Cal. The Golden Bears only had
four offensive rebounds while the Huskies
had 10. Often the Huskies are outrebounded
in offensive rebounds. We hope this the sign
we will see the rest of the season. All total
the Huskies had 32 rebounds while Cal had
23.

The Huskies will take on Stanford on Saturday.
The Cardinal will be playing the Washington
State Cougars Thursday afternoon so see how
they do in that match up first.

Gonzaga men's basketball they beat Pepperdine
last Saturday 117-83. The Bulldogs were led
by junior forward Anton Watson with 19 points
coming off the bench. Much higher than his
average of 7.4 points a game.

Drew Timme and Chet Holmgren each were
next in line each having 18 points. The Bulldogs
had six players scoring in double figures. No
player for the Bulldogs played more than 25
minutes in the game.

Gonzaga now takes on BYU Thursday night
followed by Santa Clara on Saturday. BYU
has a 14-3 record overall while 2-0 in the
West Coast Conference. The Bulldogs are
12-2 and only 1-0 in WCC.

Seattle Mariners second base

As we get ready for baseball season
2022 now we look  at second base.

The Mariners traded before  the lockout
picking  up Adam Frazier. He likely be
the Mariners  second baseman unless
the  team signs an infield  free agent.
if so Frazier  will  spend some time in
the  outfield.

Infielder Abraham Toro who played
second base when acquired at the
trading deadline. Toro  may play 2nd
on occasion  though likely  play more
3rd his natural  position. The Mariners
sign a free agent who more likely  play
3rd than Toro could be  the regular
2nd baseman or super utility. The
same may go for France. We hope to
hear these answers soon.

Pitcher Jon Lester a native of the
Tacoma area announced Wednesday
morning he is retiring from baseball.
Lester began his career with the Boston
Red Sox. Had 200 career wins and one
of the  best lefties during his 16 seasons.

Penny Ends Season On High Note

The Seattle Seahawks beat  the Cardinals in
Arizona 38-30. Rashaad Penny had another
great game rushing for 190 yards on 23 carries.

Penny had a 60 yard touchdown in the 4th
quarter to almost seal the win. The Cardinals
had the ball in the red zone under two minutes
remaining in the game.  This was after getting
the ball around six and half minutes left in the
game. The Seahawks who have done well
stopping teams in the  red zone did so again.

The Cardinals  were down by 11 points  so they
needed to  score twice so kicked a field goal
and tried onside kick. Jordyn  Brooks who had
a great day with a team record 20 tackles caught
the onside kick for the Seahawks. Rashaad Penny
ran the ball several  times  to run out the clock.

Russell Wilson  went 15 for 26 passes, 238 yards
and three touchdowns. Tyler Lockett  had two of
the touchdowns in five catches and 98 yards.
DK Metcalf  had  a  touchdown  pass as well. He
to had five catches on the  day.

Always  seems  a Seahawk gets hurt badly when
they play in Arizona. Sunday was no different.
Safety Quandre Diggs had a dislocated ankle along
with a broken  fibula. Diggs is staying in Arizona to
have surgery. Diggs is expected to be a free agent
and signed  to a big contract makes us wonder the
injuries will effect it. The Seahawks  hoping to keep
him around. Most likely  try to sign in but at a lower
amount with incentives.

In men's basketball the Washington  Huskies  were
unable to match Thursday's  night win at Utah. They
got far behind once again  but not able to turn things
around losing to Colorado 78-64. Cole Bajema had
another great  game in a row this time  leading  the
Huskies with 18 points. Bajema keeps  this up the
Huskies  should end up with  a  good  season.

WSU Loses QB

It is tough right now with the transfer portal being
in for the second straight year. You never know who
may decide to leave.

On Friday the Cougars got a surprise when their
starting quarterback Jayden de Laura announced
he was going into the transfer portal. I am sure
it was a surprise to many Cougar faithful.

de Laura had a fantastic second season at WSU,
possibly the best quarterback in the Pac-12.
According to Spokane's spokesman there is
likely many places that de Laura can go to
run the offense he excels at. It doesn't mean
he will not be good under other offenses but
the one at WSU he excelled at for sure.

Saturday the Cougars men's basketball rebound
on the road beating the Utah Utes 77-61. It was
quite a deal because the Cougars hadn't won in
Utah since 1946.  I am sure they may have not
played for a number of years since the Utes
weren't in the Pac-12 for some time.

Terrell Roberts again led the Cougars in scoring
with 15 points. All his points were outside the
three-point line. It also ended a 13-game losing
streak to the Utes.

The Cougars now are 2-2 in Pac-12 in 5th place.
Of course we have a ways to go on the season.
Next up for the Cougars is Stanford on Thursday
followed by California on Saturday.

The Washington Huskies men take on Colorado
Sunday after beating Utah in come behind. We
hope the best for them too.

The Seahawks have their final game of 2022
playing Sunday afternoon against the Cardinals
in Arizona. It will be an interesting off-season.
Let you know what my opinion is when things
happen whether trades or free agent signings.

Seattle Mariners first base

As we look for the  lockout to end
and baseball begins  we will  look
at the positions going into spring
training.  We hope for additional
in help by trades and free agency.

Right before the lockout Seattle
Mariners president of baseball
operations and general manager
Jerry  Dipoto said Ty France  will
be the  regular first  baseman. He
he did an outstanding job when
Evan White was hurt and lost for
the season.

Where Evan White  fits on the Mariners
will first begin how  healthy he is and
how he hits  in spring training. White
has struggled at the plate in his limited
action in the major leagues.  White could
begin the  season at triple-A if not on the
big club. Dipoto hinted White  might play
some outfield as well. White is quite
athletically so not a stretch. His defense
likely work in the outfield. In this case he
would be the 4th or 5th outfield. I  could
see him in  center field on occasion. It
will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Another player who might get action at
first base is Luis Torrens. Last season
when he returned from  triple-A he was
designated hitter for the most part.
Depending  how catching position is
will depend where he plays elsewhere.

The designated hitter most likely  be
be Kyle  Lewis or Mitch Haniger. This
to will depend  on  how healthy  Lewis
is. Haniger at least one game a week
to keep him healthy again for another
season.  We will get more into it when
we get to the outfield. Go M's!

Huskies Win Cougars Lose

The Washington Huskies did something they
haven't done in a while and that is coming back
to win after being behind in double figures.

The Huskies were down four points at half time,
however, the Utah Utes got up to a 14 point lead
in the first six minutes of the second half. This
is when the Huskies made their move. The
Huskies ended up winning 74-68.

The Huskies had four players score in double digits.
They were led by Daejon Davis with 16 points.
Husky leading scorer on the season Terrell Brown
had 15 along with Cole Bajema. It was Cole's best
game since being a member of the Huskies in his
second year. Jamal Bey had 14 points.

The underlying trouble for Utah was turnovers
having 19 in the game. The Huskies go to Colorado
to play the Buffaloes on Sunday. Maybe the Utah
game change the season for the Huskies we will see.

The Cougars though lost to the Buffaloes on the road
83-78. Terrell Roberts led the Cougars with 25 points.
The Cougars shooting wasn't as good as the Buffaloes
especially from 3- point line  where they shot 26%.
The Cougars have been up and down all season.
They take on Utah on Saturday. Both teams look
to rebound from their losses on Thursday. We wish
the best for the Cougars to be able to get back to
their winning ways.

Cougars Hire Former Husky

The Washington State Cougars went
out and hired former Husky Pete Kaligas
who was on Washington's national
championship team in 1991. Kaligas
will be defensive line
coach though was offensive guard at
Washington.

Kaligas I don't remember a whole lot
being an offensive lineman. He previous
coached at Wyoming where he had several
hats for 13 years. The last four years at
Montana. Wish him the best since both
Huskies and Cougars need to be the best
programs.

Washington Huskies Men Lose

Really seems like the Washington Huskies
haven't played basketball ball in a while.
I have to say it is true. They lost another
game to  covid against Washington State
Cougars.

On Monday night they played the Wildcats
on their court in Tucson Arizona. The
Wildcats won as expected.  It was a
shoot out as the final score was 95-79.

The Huskies were in the game for a good
part though they never led for most of the
game. The Huskies were within five points
at the eight minute mark left in the game.
Like often  the Huskies  can't overcome
their shooting woes.

Terrell Brown the Huskies  leading scorer
and one of the top six scorers in the country
was the leading scorer in the game with 28
points along with eight rebounds.

Emitt Mathews Jr had 16 points with four
three-pointers in the game. Most of those
kept the Huskies in the game when the
Wildcats could have  blown the game early.
PJ Fuller  had 11 points as well.

The Huskies next game will be on Thursday
in Utah against the Utes. The Utes are 1-3
in the Pac-12 while this was Washington's
first game and loss. The Utes lost to Oregon
on New Year's Day  79-66. The Utes only
win in Pac-12 was back on December 5th
at home against California Golden Bears.
They have lost three straight so we will
see what happens. Go Dawgs!

Let's End The Lockout

Ow we are in the  new year and spring
training is six weeks away major league
baseball and the players end the lockout.

If not this week in a couple weeks anyway.
We need to watch the  love of baseball.
We to know the way of the football for the
Seahawks we are going to hear enough about
Russell Wilson and trading other players
along with the coaching staff. We need baseball
and not be distracted.  Go M's.

Seahawks Win Final at Home

The Seattle Seahawks beat the Detroit
Lions as expected with their highest
offensive output of the season. The
score 51-29.

Rashaad Penny and DK Metcalf each
had a big day. Penny had 25 carries
170 yards and two touchdowns both
in the first half.  Metcalf had three
touchdowns on six catches for 63
yards. Tyler Lockett had a touchdown
to.

Russell Wilson had a good game as you
can imagine.  Threw 29 passes with 20
completed for 236 yards with four td's.this.

The Seahawks will play Arizona Cardinals
next Sunday in Arizona to end the season.
Regardless who wins the  Seahawks will
end the season at the bottom of the division.
Cardinals will finish second in division no
matter who wins.

Now the question what will the Seahawks do
to get back on top. Changes will have to be
made no matter what.  We will see over the
months ahead.

Cougars Lose Final

The Washington State Cougars had
a rough start to the Sun Bowl then
came back but not enough to win the
game.

Central Michigan led the game at
half time 21-0. The Cougars lost
quarterback Jaden de Laura in the
3rd quarter. Obviously, things weren't
going well for the Cougars anyway.

Besides de Laura leaving the game,
the Cougars didn't have running back
Max Borghi or Deon McIntosh which
made it hard as well.

Backup quarterback Victor Gabalis
came in and made a good effort to
get the Cougars back in the game.
Gabalis threw for 177 yards and
two touchdowns.  The Cougars
ran out of time to win the game.

Now we look toward spring and
fall to see how the Cougars go.
