I am sure many thought the Las Vegas Bowl game Saturday would be a close game between the Washington Huskies and the Boise State Broncos. It didn't turn out that way.
The Huskies scored first after a turnover on an interception. The game was very much like the Apple Cup where the Huskies dominated both sides of the ball.
The first half neither team could run the ball; however, the Huskies passing game behind quarterback Jacob Eason did a good job. In the second half, the Huskies running game improved while the Broncos defense became tired. The Huskies led the game at half-time 17-0. The Broncos did score once in the third quarter but the defense turned them away after that. The final score was Washington 38 Boise State 7.
I am sure Chris Petersen didn't think his final game as the Huskies Head Coach would turn out this way but I am sure Husky fans certainly glad it did.
Now the reigns of the Huskies will turn over to Jimmy Lake as head coach. We wish the best to Coach Petersen as well as the new Coach Lake. The Huskies football program is in good hands. Go Dawgs!
