Remembering Cortez Kennedy

It was a shock on Tuesday morning hearing about the passing of #96 Cortez Kennedy of the Seattle Seahawks. During his time in the 90s for the Seahawks they were not a very good team. He anchored the defense for the Seahawks. He was a fierce player on the field however a gentleman off the field. He talked quietly but had a good sense of humor. I wished that I had the chance to meet Tez as he was called.

Tez was a member of the Seahawks ring of fire. Other words he was among the greatest Seahawk players who put on a uniform. He finally made the NFL Hall of Fame recently. When you talk about Seahawk defensive tackles it is primarily him and Sam Adams. Also on the defensive line you have to mention Jacob Green and now Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril. Until Sam Adams got drafted and played for the Seahawks Tez was double and tripled team however he was able to make plays anyway. The Seahawks were a losing team despite Kennedy however the problem was more on the offensive side of the ball.

Whatever the state of the Seahawks team was when Tez Kennedy was playing for them he played with all of his heart. He was a big guy physically but had an even bigger heart.  We go out to his family and close friends letting them know how much we appreciated him as a player and a man. The world is not going to be the same without this giant of a man. I am sure what his life has been will go on for many years forward. He touched many people in his lifetime beyond his family and teammates. The Seahawk fans along with those who live in the Orlando, Florida area where he presided. You can learn more about this giant of a man by reading many other stories on the internet. God bless you and rest in peace Tez.
