good start hitting .300 on the season
as they are finishing up their 4th
week of the season. Only Jorge
Polanco has done a better job.
Dylan hasn't shown he can't hit
well over the full season either
as a utility or a starter. The M's
lost Ryan Bliss for most of the
rest of the season.
Now Dylan and Leo Rivas will
get most of the time at second
base. Luke Raley with the injury
keeping Victor Robles out for
some time as well. We shouldn't
expect back until after the all-star
break most likely. Raley will start
in right field against righties
and some lefties. Dylan Moore
will start against lefties that
Raley doesn't start. Moore is the
fourth outfielder and Miles
Mastrobuioni may play outfield
in occasion however he is a
left handed bat. He play more
at third base and second.
The Mariners playing well right
now things won't change
however in May things could
change. It will come down
to how well second and first
base go. Ben Williamson
should play a lot at third with
Mastrobuioni playing once
or twice a week. It comes
down how well he hits. I
could see him more at second.
First base has been troublesome
as far as hitting goes. Neither
Tellez or Solano have hit well.
Tellez had three home runs
in Toronto however that has
to continue as his batting average
is below .100. Solano has been
the same but has no power.
Both of them have contracts
where they could be released
at anytime. Tyler Locklear
who is hitting well in Tacoma
so the Mariners could bring
him up in place of Solano since
both are right handed bats.
Locklear has more power too.
He could hit a lot of doubles
besides home runs.
Second base continues we
could see Cole Young come
up in May sometime. A lot
will depend how much the
Mariners win or not. The
Mariners have taken care
of third base with Williamson
promotion but second and
third may have to be the same.
Go M's.
