The Seahawks lost their top rookie on Tuesday. L.J. Collier the number one pick was taken off by stretcher. The Seahawks are already thin on the defensive line. Collier might be out for a while; so we will see. One thing for sure it puts him back on his development. I am sure we will hear more details later today or tomorrow.
On the Seattle Mariner's front. Mike Leake hasn't been traded yet so scheduled to start at this point anyway. No other trades happening for the Mariners as well. The deadline is 1 pm PDT. Keon Broxton the Mariners acquired on Saturday is in the lineup playing center field while batting ninth. Mallex Smith leads off, however, he is playing in right field. It will be interesting to see how he looks in right field. Tim Beckham will be in left field. A very interesting outfield for sure. Like Leake will this be the last game we see Beckham play for the Mariners well as Leake.
Domingo Santana is at dh once again and batting 3rd. Dan Vogelbach is in the cleanup spot while playing first base. Austin Nola is at second base. News is Dee Gordon might be taking a rehab assignment over the weekend so might be back next week in Seattle.
Tom Murphy is behind the plate since Leake is pitching. He has been catching Leake for several of his last outings. They do seem to work together well.
We will have to see whether Kyle Seager can get out of his slump or continue going the same way.
That's it for now until next time enjoy seeing the Seahawks getting ready for the season and the Mariners seeing how they will do after sweeping the Tigers. Does this give them for confidence playing? We will see.
