Hunter Strickland and Roenis Elias Moved

The Mariners made two trades today with less than an hour remaining in the trading deadline. Hunter Strickland expected to be the Mariners closer this year, however, was on the injured list until last week was traded to the Washington Nationals for a Double-A reliever. Jerry Dipoto traded Roenis Elias to the Nationals as well. They picked up two more relievers as well. The Nationals feel to make the playoffs they need bullpen help.

The Mariners will have to bring up a couple of relievers to take over the spots of Strickland and Elias. They could promote a starter, and move LeBlanc or Milone to the bullpen.

Mariners trade Mike Leake just before the trade deadline ends. He goes to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mariners received infielder

Jose Caballero the Diamondbacks #19 prospect who is 22 years old and is playing at high level-A.
