Huskies Men Win

The Washington men's basketball team
beat California Golden Bears at home on
Wednesday night 64-55.

Huskies did well by getting off to a good
start going on a 19-10 run and finished
the game well 17-4 run. Outside of that
they likely wouldn't have won the game.

Terrell Brown Jr the Huskies leading
scorer had 21 points. Most of the points
were in the second half where he had
18 points.

Despite the good start the Huskies were
behind 34-27 at half time. The Huskies
need to find a way to play more consistent.
They are now 2-2 in Pac-12 play and
7-7 overall. It shows why they are inconsistent.

Nate Roberts had a good game being the only
other player than Brown in double figures with
10 points and he had 12 rebounds as well.

The Huskies did well in rebounding overall
compared to Cal. The Golden Bears only had
four offensive rebounds while the Huskies
had 10. Often the Huskies are outrebounded
in offensive rebounds. We hope this the sign
we will see the rest of the season. All total
the Huskies had 32 rebounds while Cal had
23.

The Huskies will take on Stanford on Saturday.
The Cardinal will be playing the Washington
State Cougars Thursday afternoon so see how
they do in that match up first.

Gonzaga men's basketball they beat Pepperdine
last Saturday 117-83. The Bulldogs were led
by junior forward Anton Watson with 19 points
coming off the bench. Much higher than his
average of 7.4 points a game.

Drew Timme and Chet Holmgren each were
next in line each having 18 points. The Bulldogs
had six players scoring in double figures. No
player for the Bulldogs played more than 25
minutes in the game.

Gonzaga now takes on BYU Thursday night
followed by Santa Clara on Saturday. BYU
has a 14-3 record overall while 2-0 in the
West Coast Conference. The Bulldogs are
12-2 and only 1-0 in WCC.
