Huskies Win On the Road

The Washington Huskies men's basketball
team who got off to a rough start on the
season are now starting to jell. They beat
Oregon State on the road 82-72.

The Oregon State Beavers are not an easy
team to beat especially at home but the
Huskies found a way to do it. The Beavers
had a two point lead in a tight game in the
first half leading 38-36.

The Huskies pulled away with around
12 minutes remaining in the game and
never sacrificed the lead again. We hope
this will be a good ride for them.

Head coach Mike Hopkins wasn't at the
game because he came down with covid.
Will Conroy assistant coach and former
Husky player ran the show. It certainly
looks like the Huskies enjoy playing for
him.

Terrell Brown Jr who leads the Pac-12
in scoring led the Huskies with 27 points.
Another player I like Emmitt Mathews
Jr had 16 points.

The Huskies are expected to play OregonGo
on Saturday, however, the Ducks game on
Thursday against Washington State Cougars
was postponed because of covid among the
ranks of the Cougars. The game between
Cougars and Beavers has been postponed
for Saturday as well. Interesting the
Cougars have same issues on their women's
basketball team as well with both of their
games against Oregon schools postponed to.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs beat San Francisco
Dons at home Thursday night 78-62. Drew
Timme led the Bulldogs with 23 points
followed by Chet Holmgren with 22. Holmgren
Also had nine rebounds as well. It was the
Bulldogs 62nd straight win at home. Quite
a feat I would say. The Bulldogs have a week
off before playing Loyola Maramont.
