Another Saturday of Football

I remember the days when we could only see one or possibly two football games on Saturday, and now you can see a game all day long. Also, if you don't like one you can change to another game.

The Washington Huskies are playing a big game today against the Oregon Ducks. This game should be a good one to see. There is a lot of implications as well. The Huskies need to win to stay in the race for the Pac-12 North Division. If they lose it is over basically.

The Huskies will need to score early against the Ducks which isn't easy. The Ducks have given up 25 points in the last five games is what I heard though I read 52 points. Either case, they are playing good defense. Time to check to see which is true, so right back with you. The 53 points must have been written backward because the answer is 25. Hard to believe a team can give up those amount of points. You would have thought Stanford and California, which by the way each beat Washington could have scored at least 25 points combined even losing too. So not an easy task for sure on Saturday for the Huskies to overcome; however, they are playing at home.

The Washington State Cougars need to win as well. Not just to be in the race but to make any bowl game. They have lost three games in a row all in the Pac-12. They take on Colorado at home before facing the Oregon Ducks in Eugene. Whatever happens on Saturday with the Ducks and Huskies this will be a tough game for sure for the Cougars.

Sunday the Seattle Seahawks take on the Baltimore Ravens with the return of Earl Thomas to Seattle. Thomas first appearance in Seattle in a different uniform. He will play showing the Seahawks made a mistake in not re-signing him. This will be an important game for the Seahawks to keep up with the SF 49ers.

So this weekend will be exciting but important in the northwest for college football. Go teams!
