Baseball is my favorite sport which I am sure you are not surprised. I wonder how many are shocked that the Washington Nationals are up two games to zero in the series. Thursday is an off day for the series as the games now go to Washington DC. The Astros do have the pitching to get back into the series but will need to win game three. So now look at football instead.
The Washington Huskies have this weekend off while the Washington State Cougars get to face the Oregon Ducks. Without looking things up I heard the Cougars have beaten the Ducks four straight. After a tough battle with the Huskies last Saturday it could be in the cards for the Cougars to win. For Husky fans, it will be important that the Cougars win if Washington still has any chance though slim to win the Pac-12 North division.
The Seattle Seahawks go to Atlanta to take on the Falcons. On Tuesday they made a trade with the Detroit Lions picking up safety Quandre Diggs. The Seahawks have injuries along with some poor play out of the safety position so they decided to pull off the move.
The trading deadline is next Tuesday. The Seahawks really need to look at picking up a tight end after losing Will Dissly to another season-ending injury. The offense is off. They are going with two backup tight-ends along with using an extra offensive lineman on running downs. I like Luke Willson but he isn't a starting tight end and neither is Jacob Hollister who started the season on the practice squad.
Anyway, enjoy the World Series as long as it last. We can see what Jerry Dipoto has up his sleeve after the series is over. In the meantime, let's enjoy football.
