At least in local sports not much happened on Sunday. The Washington Huskies women's basketball team lost. They have the same record as the guys. Stanford is at the top of the Pac-12 for the women too. Not a big surprise for sure.
After the conference championship games, we now know the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers are playing in the Super Bowl on February 2 which happens to be my dad's birthday. I miss you Dad!
Now we are counting down until the Seattle Mariners report to spring training. Make it easy the pitchers and catchers report ten days after the Super Bowl on February 12 so if my math is right we are talking 23 days.
No news about the Mariners either. You would think Jerry Dipoto would announce something is going on. He is being so quiet.
I hope he announces the Mariners have acquired a starting pitcher this week. This will allow us to write about and talk about someone. I have mentioned before the Mariners don't have depth in starting pitching.
If something happens to a starter or can you imagine two the Mariners will have trouble finding a fifth or even a fourth starter with two injuries. Always someone has issues when spring training begins. The Mariners do have minor league pitchers but do we want to go there right now.
Anyway, I hope something is cooking. Nothing happening until Thursday when the Huskies and Cougars play Utah and Colorado on the road.
Until tomorrow when I hope there is something to say here. Have a good day.
