The Washington Huskies and the Washington State Cougars both lost Thursday night at home while Gonzaga won on the road in Portland. It was a close game for the Bulldogs who ended up winning 85-72. I know the score doesn't look close but Portland was leading in the first half.
The Washington Huskies got off to another bad start against UCLA. They did make an early comeback in the second half to make it a game; however, in the end, they lost 66-64 on a three-pointer by the Bruins with eight seconds remaining. Poor ball handling didn't allow the Huskies to put up a shot to tie or win the game.
The Washington State Cougars lost to the tough USC Trojans 65-56. Now the Huskies will play against the Trojans on Sunday while the Cougars take on UCLA. We hope both teams can end the weekend at 1-1 in the Pac-12 conference. With a lot of good teams this year they need to do well to win.
