Mariners Come From Behind Win

Heading into the bottom of the sixth
inning the Mariners were behind 8-2 so
looked like they would lose. The Mariners were playing minor leaguers for the most
part.

Tom Murphy started at catcher so the
only player who might get significant
playing time. Cooper Hummel might be
the other. He started in left field and
maybe the Mariners third catcher. The
Mariners made a surprise move sending
down outfielder Cade Marlowe to Tacoma.
Speculation might be an injury. I thought
he would be sticking around until the end
of camp anyway.

Murphy continues hitting the ball well.
He had a double early though didn't
come to the Mariners scoring. Murphy
is 7 for 22.  He likely will start against
lefties though Raleigh be in against
some lefties depending on who they
are playing. Jake Schneider hit a two
run homer in the sixth inning to be
part of the sixth inning.

Catcher Brian O'Keefe who came in
for Murphy hit a three run homer
to put the Mariners ahead. The Mariners
catchers have been hitting well this
spring. Depending on health we could see
O'Keefe during the season will start
in Tacoma. He drove in another run too.

Luis Castillo started the game and went
three and a third innings giving up three
runs. Wouldn't worry about him right
now. Have two more starts before the
regular season.

Robbie Ray will make his third start
if the spring. In five innings he hasn't
given up a run and struck out six.
The Mariners take on the Angels on
Monday. Sure we will see the starting
position players to.

News came out Washington Huskies
men's basketball coach is returning
next season which is a surprise in a
way. He said looking into making
changes. What they are who knows.
Will they bring back all the assistant
Coaches. He and athletic director
Jennifer Cohen day they are looking
to win a Pac12 championship next
year. Good luck on that one.

It will be interesting to see who they
bring into the program. Jamal Bey
won't return as his eligibility is up.
Forward Langston Wilson is going
through the transfer portal. He wasn't
able to take advantage to get playing
time when center Franck Kepnang went
down early on in the season. Kepnang
is expected to return as well as starting
center Braxton Meah. The Huskies
hope these two will be a good force
next season as they were expected this
season. Meah got a lot of good experience
this year. The Huskies played four guards
a lot when Meah was out and sometimes
when Keion Brooks Jr went out of the
game to.

Freshman Keyon Menifield and Koren
Johnson had valuable play. Menifield
got in a lot of starts and Johnson off
the bench. Both should start next season.
Cole Bajema is planning to return as
well. They will likely be the three starting
guards.The Huskies are bringing in
in  four star prospect Wesley Yates iii
from Beaumont Texas. He could come
off the bench or start as a shooting
guard. Also expected to come in as a freshman is Christian King from Seattle Prep and the son of former Supersonic
Rich King. He to would be guard.

Who would start in the front court
with Braxton is the question. If it
isn't Keion Brooks Jr the Huskies
will have to find someone. Brooks
could go to the NBA unless Hopkins
can have him stay. Stay tuned.
