Mariners Offense Hot again

Friday night the Mariners had the offense
in high gear beating the Oakland A's 15-3.

The A's scored two runs in the top of the
first inning off of opening day starter
Luis Castillo in the first inning. The Mariners scored three in the bottom of the
first then hitting went off the rest of the
way. It showed that Oakland doesn't have
good pitching or the Mariners bats hot
again. Probably both I would say. Castillo
did go away for five innings not giving up
any more runs after the first. Look forward
to opening day.

The Mariners had only two regulars starting in the game Ty France and Cal
Raleigh. They were the hitting stars as
well. Ty had three hits scoring twice
while Raleigh had two hits, scoring three
times and driving in three runs. They
both look ready to go.

Tommy La Stella who is getting playing
time after setting out much of the spring
was at dh. He looks like to be the primary
dh against righties. He took grounders
at third before the game. The day before
played first base. Most of his career has
been at second. Since he and Wong the starting second baseman are both left handed hitters we probably won't see
him much there unless an injury happens
to Wong.

Though Dylan Moore isn't expected to
be out too long in April it is not sure
who will take his sport on the roster.
We may not know for a few days. We
will see when the rosters cut down. In
the meantime Sam Haggerty will play
in the field where more would have.
Having played second base in the
minors and hitting good against lefties
he will probably play at second.

JP Crawford was scratched from the
game. A ball his foot but he will be OK. Have to be concerned since he has missed
some action lately. Mason McCoy started
in Crawford's spot. He has had a good
spring and might make opening roster
to backup Crawford just in case until
Moore comes back. If he isn't on the
roster means Haggerty would back
up Crawford until Moore returns. The
last roster spot on the bench will be
interesting to see who gets it.

Saturday afternoon the Mariners have
a split squad games. Robbie Ray will
start against Arizona Diamondbacks.
This game will be on Roots sports but you have to check because not on the primary
one because of Kraken hockey.

Top pitching prospect Bryce Miller will
start against San Francisco Giants
in the other game. Both games play
at the same time so.let you how Miller
and Ray both do. Also who the top
position players do. Go M's.
