Washington Huskies and WSU Cougars Early Signings Plus More

Wednesday  was the first day of early
freshman  for 2024 in football.

The Huskies are ranked at 29 in the
nation as far as players that have
committed to the University.  They
have 21 committs with 15 signing
on Wednesday. These players are
either  four or three-star recruits.
This only comes from so called
experts.  It doesn't   mean this how
things end. Some players don't
mean to match what they come
out in high school. Most of these
guys are 18 years old. You  can
look at players who get drafted
in the first round of the NFL as well.
Coaching and maturity have to do
with it as well.

The player signed at this time four are
four-star  recruit recruits the remaining
are the eleven three-star  recruits. The
Huskies  signed one quarterback four-star
Dermaricus Davis out of Rancho Cucamonga
California.  Dermaricus may redshirt though
could see him in four games in which he
can keep  it. The Huskies  have Austin Mack
who came out early last year.

The Huskies  have  edge rushers  as four-star
recruits. Noah Carter from Peoria Arizona and
Ratumana Bulabalavu out of the Army and Navy
Academy in Carlsbad California. The fourth one
signed is offensive tackle Paki Finau from Hesperia
California.  We will update more of the four-star
who are  expected  to sign.

The three-star  prospects the Huskies  signed
three wide receivers, tight end Decker DeGraaf
from Glendora, California,  two safeties including
Paul Mencke Jr who  had committed to Duke.
Two defensive lineman,  linebacker Khmori House
from Bellflower California,  cornerback  Elias
Johnson Portland Oregon  and offensive tackle
Davit  Boyajyan from Clovis California.  No local
players signed from Washington yet.

The Huskies signed five transfer players. Most
known quarterback Will Rogers  from Mississipp
State. The other four are two defensive lineman
Sebastián Valdez and BJ Green  along with offensive
tackle Drew Azzopardi and linebacker Ethan Barr.

The Washington State  Cougars  signed 24 incoming
freshman and one transfer. Most of the incoming
freshmen were three star though a few not listed.
Most not four or three-star are listed. The Cougars
signed four offensive tackles with two from Washington.
Chris  Lino from Seattle Prep and Carson Osmus
from Camas. Signed one quarterback  Evans Chuba
from Clearwater Florida. Signed two running backs
and seven wide receivers.  Three are listed as athletes
so could see them on  defense too. The others are
three edge rushers, two inside linebackers,  two safeties,
one cornerback  Kenny Worthy from Peoria Arizona
and defensive lineman Jackson  Cowgill from Erie Colorado.

The lone transfer is Syrus Webster a defensive lineman
from Utah Tech. The Cougars maybe done but could add
a player or  two. The Cougars have eight players including
quarterback  Cam Ward who went into the portal. Not bad
for a team that is going  down in classification playing most
of next season against Mountain West teams.

News came out on Wednesday  that the Cougars and Beavers
will be going to the West Coast Conference  next year in all
sports except  football and possibly baseball.  Since the
football teams is going to play most of their schedule next
year against Mountain West teams besides each other. Gonzaga
is in the West Coast Conference  at this time so both teams
will play them twice per year. Also Santa Clara is usually a good
team as well. It isn't  the Pac-12  but still good basketball.
We learn about that going on. So we wish both teams well.
