the Seattle Mariners traded Jarred
Kelenic, Marco Gonzales and Evan
White to the Atlanta Braves to drop
salary.
The Braves were busy trading Marco
soon after to the Pittsburgh Pirates
who could use help in the starting
rotation. A day or two later White
was traded back to the AL West to
the Los Angeles Angels. The Braves
traded one of the players they got to
the Chicago White Sox.
Now that Ohtani signed a ten year
deal with the LA Dodgers for $700
million which most of was deferred
other signings and trades should
happen. The Mariners should be one
of those teams.
I read on a few occasions what the
Mariners lineup would look like if
the season were to begin today. It
means there is work to do.
Do you think that next season will
be better than the team that missed
the playoffs by two games. It looks
a rebuild at this point unless the
Mariners spend what they picked
up in the dropping of salary. We can
speculate why they dropped salary.
Mariners lost money or did not make
as much as they wanted.
I have mentioned on social media
several times that spending money
will make money. Trading Eugenio
Suarez and Kelenic for the most part
will save on strike outs and the same
for not resigning Taeoscar Hernandez.
The defense of Suarez at third base
along with the two corner outfield spots.
It will be interesting to see what happens
though sooner than later would be nice.
At least a couple guys before Christmas.
Get back to this later or soon in the meantime
have a good holiday.
