the Mariners win in extra innings over the
Detroit Tigers 9-6.
For the first five innings the Tigers look
like they were going to snatch another win
over the Mariners fortunately it wasn't
meant to be. Casey Mize was dominating
for five innings shutting down the Mariners
while the Tigers scored three runs. In the
sixth inning Kyle Seager hit a three-run
homer to tie the game.
The game was tied, however, it looked
like the Tigers were going to win in the
bottom of the 9th in walk-off homer
fashion but Jake Fraley caught a ball
over the fence and threw back to first
to catcher the runner as well. Earlier
Dillon Thomas making his major league
debut caught a ball at the fence as well.
The Mariners scored a run in the 10th
then it looked like the Mariners might
win but a pitch off the protector of
catcher Tom Murphy tied the game.
Jake Fraley hit in the going ahead run
and Thomas with his first major league
hit drove in two runs as well. In the end
the Mariners scored five runs. Middleton
didn't have it going for the Mariners so
he gave up two runs to the Tigers. Fortunate
Middleton was able to get out of the inning
without giving up any more runs.
I guess you can ask what the difference
of the bullpens are: answer three runs lol
The Mariners have a day game starting
just after 10 am pacific time. Justus Sheffield
expected to start and the Tigers going with
bullpen by committee. I hope this means a
Mariner win. Go M's.
