The Seahawks training camp starts next Saturday July 29 at
the VMAC. The fans will be able to attend starting on the 30th. My
main question is how the offensive line will work this season. I hope it will
be better than last season and that Russell Wilson will be healthy all season
long. I think the line will be fine as long as they don’t decide to have
players go to another position.
Next to the offensive line I look forward to the competition
between newcomer and former Green Bay Packer Eddie Lacey and Thomas Rawls. Both
of them are coming off of last season where they had injuries so hope that either
or both will be healthy. This goes for C. J. Prosise as well who is expected to
be the 3rd down specialist. He showed some signs last year that he
could play on first and second down occasionally as well. It would be nice to
have two running backs in the backup on occasion. This will depend a lot on the
offensive line as well. Another question will Alex Collins be a better runner
this year as well. He could make it quite the foursome for the Seahawks.
Continue on the offense will Russell Wilson be able to get
the ball to tight end/receiver Jimmy Graham on 3rd down and
especially in the red zone where the Seahawks have not done well that last
several seasons. Also the use of Doug Baldwin in the same downs and the health
of Tyler Lockett; another will Jermaine Kearse return to form or on his way
down. We hope to that Paul Richardson will be the player he was at the end of
the season and playoffs when Lockett was out.
There are questions on the defensive side of the ball as well
however I will get to that in the weeks to come. I am just glad training camp
is starting so we don’t have to hear any more about Richard Sherman’s
off-season. Of course I am sure it will be mentioned some during training camp.
The media has to talk or write about something.
I can’t wait until pre-season games so we can see some of the
new players even the ones that likely won’t be on the roster when the season
begins. The Seahawks should be favored to win the division of course that
depends on the Arizona Cardinals can stay healthy despite their ages. The Rams
and 49ers most likely will be in the rears of the division but how good or bad
they will be is anyone’s question. In the meantime let’s go Seahawks.
