Day Three Of NFL Draft 2026

The Seattle Seahawks were busy on
Saturday acquiring several draft picks.
The first pick was acquired from the
 Cleveland Browns in Beau Stephens
a guard from Iowa in the fifth round.
The Seahawks are looking at adding
depth and competition for the right
guard spot.  Iowa had several players
drafted this year.

In round six the Seahawks selected
Emmanuel Henderson Jr. a wide
receiver from  Kansas who has a lot
of speed. Most likely he will see
most of his action on special teams
if he makes the team. He was acquired
in  a trade with the New York Jets.

In the seventh round the Seahawks
acquired three picks including the
first and in the round from the
Green Bay Packers. Both of these
are cornerbackd so be tough
competition. They are Andre Fuller
from Toledo and Michael Dansby
from Arizona. Sandwich between
them was a defensive tackle acquired
from the Jets picked in  Deven Eastern
from Minnesota. We wish them all
the best.

The Seahawks have signed already
three undrafted college players so
let you know who they are and others
with notable names on Sunday.

The draft pick of Stephens was for the
4th round pick in next draft. The Seahawks still have eleven picks for next year right
now.. The two picks in the 7th round
from the Packers was for the late sixth
round. The two picks acquired from
the Jets was for an earlier sixth round
pick. Go Hawks

The San Francisco 49ers drafted
two players from University of
Washington. Both players were
selected in the 4th round. Offensive
lineman Carvis Wills and cornerback
Ephesians Prysock.

In all the Washington Huskies had
seven players drafted. Edge rusher
Zach Durfee was the last one  in
the 7th round by Jacksonville.

The Washington State Cougars
Had only one player wide receiver
De'Zhaun Stribling  by the San
Francisco 49ers. He was the very
first pick of the second round.

Mariners Win Slugfest

Saturday afternoon we were not expecting
a slugfest with Bryan Woo on the mound
however that happens..We just hope
an injury hasn't happened.

The Mariners have Bryce Miller coming
back soon. We just hope this was just
an off day.. Woo was only able to go
three innigs and gave up seven runs.

Final Mariners 11 Cardinals 9

The .Mariners used four relievers.
Jose Ferrer went two innings giving
up two hits, one walk however not
a run. Cooper Criswell went two
innings as well but gave up three
runs. Mariners not doing too well
late in innings when bringing in
a reliever like this. I am not sure
why they would do this. Brash
and Munoz shut the door again.

The key hit was a single into
right center by Leo Rivas with
the bases loaded one out to
drive in the final two runs.

Will Wilson had a home run with
runner on base in the second inning.
It was on his first pitch in his first
at bat in the majors. Wilson started
at third base.  Rivas came in for
him after Canzone had pinch hit
and drove in a run two. The 9th
sot in the order drove in five runs.

Julio Rodriguez hit a home run in
the first inning with Cal on base
 Unfortunately the Cardinals tied
it with two home runs in the bottom
of first. Cole Young hsd three hits
including a home run. Every hitter
got at least one hit except Luke
Raley who pinch hit for Refsynder.
Connor Joe had a good hit to
late in the gym when he went
in for Raley.

We hope that the Mariners can
sweep the Cardinals on Sunday.
Emerson Hancock will go for the
Mariners.  Go M's

Washington Huskies Jonah
Coleman was drafted by the
Denver Broncos in the fourth
round at running back  The
Huskies had a few others
drafted too. We will let you
know they went as well. Go
Hawks

Mariners Win Opening On Road Trip and Seahawks Draft Picks

The Seattle Mariners beat the St. Louis
Cardinals Friday night. It ended  where
the Mariners had lost eight in a row
coming into this game

Final Mariners 3-2

The Mariners  had only four hits
however made the best of them.
Cole Young singled driving in
Randy Arozarena for the first
run in the second inning. Dominic
drove in Josh Naylor who had
walked. In the 6th inning hit a
home run to win.

George Kirby went six innings plus
giving up two runs after the two runs
they had run. This was the first loss
on the Cardinals in one run games.
Matt Brash came in the 7th and
gave up no hits. He is having a good
season so far.

Gabe Speier started the 8th giving up
two hits and one out. Bazardo came
and was able to get a grounder into
a double play. Munoz got the first
two outs then gave up a hit however
was able to strike out the batter.

Bryan Woo will start Saturday against
the Cardinals. We hope for more hits
in the game and at least one more run.

The Seahawks had one draft pick in
both the 2nd and 3rd rounds. The
Seahawks have only one more pick
in the sixth round. We will see if they
will trade up. Next year is supposed to
be better so they may not do anything.

Bud Clark from TCU  was in the second
round. He played safety in college but
we could see him at cornerback.

Julian Neal a cornerback was picked
in the 3rd round from Arkansas.
He only played there one season
after four years at Fresno State

Both could play at cornerback or
at nickel back.  General manager
John Schneider and his staff will
be sitting around a lot on Sunday.
They could move up or back.

The Seahawks have 12 picks in
2027. That draft is supposed
to be better however trading
several to get additional picks
this year would be good. They
have their own picks in each
round plus some compensary
picks for the free agents they
lost this year. They are expected
in the 4th and 5th rounds.
Go Hawks.

University of Washington Huskies
wife receiver Denzel Boston was
drafted in the second to the Cleveland
Browns. We wish him the best.

Seahawks Make Their Pick

The Seahawks winning the Super Bowl
meant they had the last pick in the
first round. There was the thought
they might trade down however they
set where they were.

The Seahawks wanted to draft the
replacement for Super Bowl MVP
Ken Walker..Not a big surprise
they decided not to resign him
since he has had injuries in the
time in Seattle.  The injury to
backup Zach Charbonnett may
have changed their minds but
the amount he signed with the
Kansas City Chiefs I am sure
why they didn't sign him. I guess
we will see.

The Seahawks drafted running
back Jadarian Price from Notre
Dame.   His teammate Jeremiyah
Love was drafted third overall
by the Arizona Cardinals. Love
was Notre Dame starting running
back and the best one in college
football.  This means that Price
will be healthier for playing
limited time. Price averaged 7.08
yards per carry. He has a lot of
speed so he will be a good change
up for anyone else who plays at
running back until Charbonnett
returns. Price will be different from
Charbonnett who has carried the
ball a lot when the Seahawks are
close to the goal line.

We will see him in Seattle soon
so it will be good to see him up
close.  The Seahawks will have
a mini camp for the draft picks
as well as any who are signed
as nondrafted  free agents .

Friday will be round two and
three. We see who they draft
or whether they make any trades
to add picks. The pick in the
second round as well as the third
will be the last pick of the round.
So they could move down.  A lot
will depend how other teams pick.
Go Hawks..

Mariners Wins Wednesday Afternoon

It wasn't easy however the Mariners
beat the A's 5-4 so they were able to
win without losing all three games.

Logan Gilbert was only able to go
four innings giving up three runs.
The bullpen did a good job not giving
up a run until Munoz gave up a
home run to tie in the top of the 9th.
Fortunately Josh Naylor drove in
the walk off hit in the bottom of the
9th.

Josh Naylor and Cal Raleigh each
had three hits. Cal had his third
home run in these three games
against the A's. JP, Julio and
Arozarena had two. Top of the
order did well.

The Mariners have Thursday off
then play the Cardinals in St. Louis
over the weekend.

A's Beat Mariners

Tuesday night the Seattle Mariners
lost to the A's 5-2.  The Mariners
who had been playing better at
home lost the second night in
a row to the A's. Wednesday
will be an afternoon game.
Logan Gilbert will start.

The Mariners continue to have
trouble when facing a lefty.
Rob Refsynder had his second
hit on the season as he struggles.
His hit though allowed the Mariners
to tie the game at one.

Jeff McNeil hit a home run in the
4th then Cal had his 4th home run
of the season to tie again 2-2
in the 5th.

Luis Castillo was only able to go
five innings however he was able
to keep the Mariners in the game.
The bullpen though surrendered
the three additional runs. Bazardo,
Speier and Wilcox each gave up
a run.

Cal was dh as Mitch Garver was
the catcher.  Mitch had a single
in his first at bat but forced at
second. Cal and Julio each had
two hits. Julio drove in the first
run.

Casey Leguimina who gave up
three runs on Monday was
designated for assignment.
Alex Hoppe was recalled from
Tacoma taking his spot.
Go M's.

Washington Huskies Now Have Three New Players

The Washington Huskies men's basketball
basketball team has two new player
since the last time I reported. They lost one
as well as we aren't surprised.

Freshman Hannes Steinbach who had
a great season for the Huskie declared
for the NBA. He will likely be a lottery
pick. Too bad the Sonics aren't back
on as of yet.  On professional level
the Seattle Storm have begun practices.
As far as the Storm goes Sue Bird is
part of the WNBA broadcast team.
I am sure you heard about her break-up.

Last week the Huskies signed former
Gonzaga forward Steele Venters to the
roster. On Monday announced that
Ryan Beasley a point guard who the
Huskies need signed  on too. Beasley
played three years at San Francisco
and last year was WCC all first team.
Last season he averaged  13.6 points
a game and four assets.

The Huskies have now eight scholarship
players. A team is allowed  15 players total.
Tuesday April 21 is the deline to declare
for the transfer portal though no deadline.

Most college teams start the season
mostly playing ten players however
when conference play starts in Dec
or January they go down to eight  or
nine who play regularly.  Wesley Yates III
is the primary regular player coming
back to the Huskies. He and Beasley
should tantem in the backcourt.

Nathan Sommerville who was a
transfer over last season did start
a few games last season averaged
4.5 points a game and 2.6 rebounds.
The Huskies are hoping for a big
improvement from him.

Nikola Dzepina from Serbia came over
to the Huskies in December played in
14 game  is listed at.  6'10. With potential
he could play a lot next season.

Jasir Rencher a freshman plan in only
eight games last year is listed as a
forward for the Huskies at 6'5.

Mady Traore is a power forward at 6'11
out of Paris France.  He played at New Mexico Sate and   Maryland. How much
playing time  at Washington we will see.

It will be interesting to see who the
Huskies will pick up over the next few
months. Whoever else the Huskies
will pickup will see where they land
as a team next season. Sprinkle fate
as the coach is in question too.
Ten teams in the  Big Ten made the
NCAA tournament and Michigan won
it all.  The Huskies need to be better
than at least one of those teams.
Go Dawgs.

Mariners Give A Game Away

Not the first time however the Mariners
gave Monday's game away losing to the
A's 6-4.

The Mariners scored two runs in the
first inning beginning with a home run
from Cal. Josh Naylor drove in Julio
to make it 2-0. In the second inning
Dominic Canzone hit a home run to
make it 3-0.

The Mariners had other opportunities.
Emerson Hancock pitched well until
the 4th inning when he gave up a home
run. In the 5th inning he gave up two
more home runs to tie the game.

The A's had three more runs in the
8th inning with a sacrifice fly and a
single. The Mariners made it interesting
in the 9th when Leo Rivas hit a double
to score Cole Young .

Luis Castillo will start Tuesday night.
We hope a better game. Go M's.

Mariners Against The A's

.Monday evening the Mariners start
a three game series against the
A's. Emerson Hancock will start game
one followed by Luis Castillo and Logan
Gilbert.

Hancock has started out well. Bryce
Miller is on rehab assignment with
the Tacoma Rainiers. His next start
will be his second one. How many
starts will he take before being
activated. Hancock right now looks
like he should still be in the rotation.
Luis Castillo who had a bad outing
last time could be out however
I am sure the Mariners won't do that.

Into May the Mariners could go to
a six man rotation which they did a
few years ago.  The Mariners have
three off days in May.  They have
15 home games and 13 road games.
Of course injuries will decide how
the Mariners will go. At home home
games five man rotation would fit
well while six on the road. A lot would
depend on who they face as well. If
the starters can go seven innings
six starters could go.

I could see Hancock go back to the pen.
He deserves to be on the roster no matter
how they go. Being the first one out of the
pen on some games is a good idea. At
this point he looks like a high leverage
pitcher. This would come down to how
many close games they play or not.

The A's and the Rangers are tied for first.
The Angels are third a half game back
and the Mariners are a game and a half.
The Astros are two behind the Mariners.

The Rangers play three against the
Pirates then next weekend against
the A's all at home. So things could
change by next Monday.

The Angels play the Blue Jays at home
followed by the Royal on the road.
The Astros who have a lot of injuries
start out with the Guardians followed
by the Yankees so this could continue
to be a hard time for them.

The A's top of the lineup has gotten
off well while the rest of the lineup
has not. The Mariners playing better
at home so far should have the
advantage.  These could be close
games too. We hope that Cal and
Naylor can get going. I have read
where some fans think that the
lineup should stay the same as far
as Cal and Naylor go. The Mariners
have to do something about the
righthanded lineup against lefties
along with when to pinch hit when
they bring in a lefty when the righty
is starting.

Raley is one of Mariners top hitters
right now. With Robles out I would
start him against lefties although
moving him down the order. I wouldn't
pinch hit for him against a lefty either
unless the Mariners have runners on
base especially late in games. Canzone
can be a different story. I was watching
the Phillies vs Braves game on Sunday
Night baseball. They asked Braves
manager Al Weiss about pinch hitting.
His answer matches what I think.
Only late in games. I am not sure
it is how Dan Wilson manages or
whether Jerry Dipoto has instructed
him. It would be nice if we knew for
sure. I hope we have a change in that
area. Go M's.

Update: Brendan Donovan went on the
Injured list to his groin. They brought
up third baseman Will Wlison. I guess
they are not looking at bringing up
Colt Emerson yet.

Mariners Win Sunday

The Seattle Mariners beat the Rangers
Sunday afternoon 5-2.

The Mariners won the series which is
good. Now they play the A'S for three
beginning on Monday.  Next weekend
they play the Cardinals in St. Louis
followed ending April playing the
Twins on the road.

Rob Refsynder led the Mariners off
with a home run. It was his first hit
this season too. In the second JP
Crawford hit a two run homer.
Randy Arozarena hit a two home run
to in the 5th.

Bryan Woo pitch well going seven
innings. He gave up two runs in
the seventh when he began to
getting tired.

Gabe Speier pitched the 8th followed
by Andre Munoz who got the save
in the 9th.

Arozarena along with Luke Raley
have been the top two hitters on
the season. Go M's

Mariners End Losing Streak

The Seattle Mariners beat the
Texas Rangers Saturday early
evening 7-3.

It started in the first inning. JP
Crawford led off with a double
and Julio drove him in with a
single. Brendan Donovan was
out and is day to day.

The score stayed the same until
the 4th when Canzone singled
driving in Raleigh and Arozarena
who have  been the two best
hitters so far.

George Kirby didn't pitch as
well as he did in two previous
starts though he recorded the win..

He gave up a home run the sixth.
Matt Brash came in and finished
the inning.  Luke Raley hit a home
run to increase the lead 4-1 in the
bottom of the sixth.

In the 8th Cole Young drove in
Raley and Canzone. Rivas hit
a sacrifice fly to score Young.
The bottom of the order has
done a bang job this season.

The Rangers score two runs
in the top of the 9th. Andre
Munoz came with two outs
and the bases loaded.
He shut down the door

Sunday afternoon Bryan Woo
will pitch for the Mariners.

Mariners Shut Out

The Mariners were able to beat the
Rangers four straight at home now
they have lost four straight.

Final Texas Rangers 5 Mariners 0

The Mariners had the bases loaded
in the first inning with one out but
couldn't bring in any runs.

Logan Gilbert went five innings plus
one out in the sixth giving up two
runs on seven hits. Not great out
but able to limit the run. The M's
were able to get to deGrom to go
only four innings with a lot of balls
thrown. They couldn't get to the
Rangers bullpen either. The M's
looked out of Sync.

The Mariners bullpen gave up three
runs so that didn't help either.
George Kirby will start Saturday
late afternoon as game is on Fox.
We hope they can get going.

Brendan Donovan had to leave the
game with a hip injury so right now
he is day to day however we will
see. Go M's.

Washington State Cougars Qbs and Wide Receivers

Kirby Moore is the Washington State
Cougars  new head coach. The Cougars
lost several players during the transfer
portal. They have competition at
quarterback and wife receiver spots.

Moore a former receiver himself
and the Cougars known for throwing
the ball things probably won't
changing a whole lot.  I am sure
there will be different looks.

Caden Pinnick a transfer from Cal
Davis is listed number one though
he might not be the starter when
things end up.  Owen Eshelman
and Julian Dugger are two other
candidates.

The Cougars  have competition at
the three wide receiver spots with
seven players.

Tony Freeman a senior and Daniel
Blood a senior transfer from Missouri
who had Moore as a coach are the
two candidates to be the slot receiver.

The two wideouts listed as first team
Darrius Clemons and  Tank Hawkins.
Clemons is a senior transfer from
Oregon State. He had injuries so not
participating in spring camp yet.
Hawkins is a transfer from Florida.
Backing up Clemons right now are
Branden Ganashamorthy and sophomore
Jordan Dees a transfer from West Georgia.

Hawkins backup is Ryan McKendry
a sophomore who transferred from
Los Mendos College in California.

Looking at tight end senior Jack
Pedersen a transfer from UCLA.

Next time we will look at the offensive
line. Go Cougs

Mariners Get Swept In San Diego

The Mariners are now 1-8 on the road
losing 5-2 to the Padres Thursday
night. Coming home they play the
Rangers in a three game series. It
will be important to take two out of three
games. Logan Gilbert will start on
Friday.

Luis Castillo struggled going five
and one-thirds innings. He gave up
all his four runs in the second inning.
He rided the ship not giving up a
run in the remaining time in the game.
Cole Wilcox came in and got the
final two outs.  He pitched the 7th
as well and gave up one run.

The Mariners scored their two runs
in the 6th inning with Cal hitting a
single driving in Cole Young and
Julio hitting a single to drive in
Donovan.

The 8th inning the Mariners had two
runners on base. Connor Joe who had
pinch hit for Luke Raley earlier had a
nice swing however was caught by the
left fielder. When he pinch hit earlier he
had struck out. Also Mitch Garver
pinch hit for Dominic Canzone.

This showed the Mariners didn't look
ahead since the 8th inning would
have  been good to have Raley at
the plate especially when he has
been hot.  Time to move on.
Go M's.

Washington Huskies Football Wide Receivers

The Washington Huskies currently
having spring practice.
 Looking at the wide receivers

Denzel Boston the Huskies top
receiver last year decided to go
the NFL. He might be drafted
near the end of the first round
or in the second round. Outside
of a very few wide receivers
don't go in the first round. All
comes down to the player and
whether a team needs a receiver.
It would be nice if he could be
with the Seahawks however
they aren't in need of one. I am
sure they would draft him if he
is the best player available.

Desmen Roebuck who had an
outstanding freshman season
last year could be the go to guy
this season. They went to him
quite a bit when Boston missed
a few games. He is listed in the
slot. Right now Kevin Greene Jr.
is his backup.

Christian Moss is projected to be
one of the side outs. He is transfer
from Kennesaw State and the other
is expected to be Rashid Williams
a redshirt junior who is in his 4th
year in the program. Last year he
played only in two games with five
catches for 54 yards.

Chris Lawson and Justice Williams
 expected to be backup however
they could find their way in for
more playing time. Lawson and Moss
have been slowed by injuries this
spring so incoming freshman Jordan
Clay is showing his stuff so he could
be the newcomer to get playing time.
With both Lawson and Moss out he
is getting valuable time with the first
unit.

Next time on Huskies football we will look
at the offensive line.

We will look  at how the WSU Cougars
are doing with a new coaching staff
and turnover of players. We will look
at their receiving core.

.Mariners Lose In Walk Off Fashion

The Mariners had the game until the
9th inning. They were leading 6-2
then gave up five runs to lose.
They were down to one strike
to win with two outs.

Andre Munoz pitched the 9th until
the bases were loaded. There was some
bad luck involved as well. The Mariners
brought in Jose Ferrer for Munoz.
Not a good idea since he is the 8th
reliever in the bullpen.

Emerson Hancock pitched well again
giving up two runs in six innings on
four hits. The two runs were on a
homer in the sixth inning. He deserved
the win. Arozarena and Raley continue
to hit well. Raley had four hits including
a home run.

Final Padres 7 Mariners 6

Thursday is the final of the series
with Luis  Castillo stating for the M's.

Mariners Win Streak Ends

The Mariners continue to struggle
on the road losing to the San Diego
Padres  4-1.   This means the
Mariners are now 1-6 on the road.

The Mariners scored first in the
second inning. Randy Arozarena
hit a single the first of two in the
game.  The Mariners had only
four hits total. Luke Raley with
the third baseman  playing back
laid down a bunt for a single.
JP was hit by a pitch loading
the bases. Dominic Canzone
hit a sacrifice fly scoring Arozarena.

Bryan Woo pitched seven innings
for the third starter in a row. The
third inning was Woo's trouble
inning giving up four hits and
three runs.  Ramon Laurano
hit a triple with one out than came
home on a Fernando Tatis Jr. single.
The following two runs were on two
more single. The triple was the only
extra base hit in the game.

The Padred score another run in
the bottom of the 8th off Casey
Leguimina. A three run lead is
hard to make up in the ninth
compared to having a two run
lead.

Wednesday Emerson Hancock
startd to see whether they can
tie the series.  Go M's.

The Seattle Mariners brought up
infielder Patrick Wisdom as Rob
Resynder took paternity leave.
Expect him back when the
Mariners return home from
San Diego to take on the
Rangers on Friday.  Wisdom
ended up hitting late in the
game..

The Men's Basketball Transfer Portal

The , Washington Huskies have added
their player from the transfer portal in
guard junior Parker Freidrichsen.
The four star recruit out of high school
Washington will be his third spot. Coach
Sprinkle hopes he improves the team's
three point shooting. At Davidson last
year he averaged 10.8 points a game.

Freshman JJ Mandaquit who was starter
for  the Huskies when last season then
was hurt was the first transfer landing
at Arizona. A good choice if you had to
leave Washington. I am sure Coach
Sprinkle will do a better job dealing with
players.  Zoom Diallo had a visit at
Kentucky however hasn't committed yet.
Go Dawgs.

The transfer portal has  been brutal to
the WSU Cougars as they have lost
basically the whole team. Only two
redshirt freshmen return.

They have signed one player already
in  Fraser Foxburgh a small forward
from Manhattan. Updated will come.

Gonzaga had five players in the transfer
portal as well as five who have eligibility
used up. Unlike Washington State the
Zags will have easier time filling slots.
Adding a big man to go with Braden Huff
is a must. Several big time programs
have players in the transfer portal so
they should  be able to fill the spots
soon.

They did signed incoming sophomore
Isiah Harwell from Houston Cougars.
A swing man he played only 13.8
minutes a game. He averaged 3.4 points
and two rebounds  in limited time.
We see whether he will be a starter
ot coming off the bench.

Again we will see who else the Zags
acquire soon.

The portal closes on April 21 however they
should be a me to sign players after that.
Do one week to go so we will check back
in unless a big name comes before that.
Goes for all three schools.

There are schools trying to recruit players
who are not yet in the transfer portal
My opinion those schools should be
charged with tampering.   The NCAA
board had put in rules on tampering
so coaches can lose 50 percent of
the season of they are caught.
At least something positive.

Mariners Sweep Astros

After the last road trip where the Mariners
went 1-5 and could have been 5-1 they
beat the Astros in all four games.

Monday afternoon the Mariners beat the
Astros 6-2. They had a great opportunities
to score more runs however the Mariners
pitching shut the doors.

It was primarily George who pitched into
the eighth inning and left with two outs.
George only walked one batter and that
was Alvarez at the end of his pitching.
He struck out seven batters. Matt Brash
came in to get the last out of the 8th
and  Cole Wilcox pitched the 9th just
giving up one walk.

Josh Naylor who has gotten off to a
rough start was the player of the game.
He hit his first home run in the first
inning after Cal and Julio had singles.
In the third inning he had a second
homer with Donovan on base.  Luke
Raley had his second three hit game
in a row.

The Mariners are still in 4th place in
the division however only one game
behind the A's in first place. The
Mariners now go play the Padres
for three so if they can do better
on this road trip who knows. The
Mariners record is now  8-9.

The Astros are in a bad place not
only  swept by the . Mariners they
continue losing players to the
injured list. I am sure most Mariners
fans are not to sympathetic to
them.

Bryan Woo will start the first game
Zin San Diego so we hope for a good
start. Go M's.

Mariners Take Series

Though there is one game left on
Monday the Mariners are now 3-0
on this series.

Logan Gilbert went seven innings
for his best start. Arozarena and
Raley each had three hits.  Julio
getting better with two hits.

Final  Mariners 6 Astros 1

Three of the runs Mariners were
on 9 walks so they had more
opportunity.  Monday against
same opponent is unusual
it will be a day game. George
Kirby will pitch.

Tuesday thru Thursday they
will play the Padres in San
Diego before playing the
Rangers in Seattle.

The Astros will be home to
play  Colorado Rockies and
St. Louis Cardinals. This
should be it for the season
against the Rockies.

Kraken Miss Playoffs

The Seattle Kraken got off to a good
start however it was awful in the
secong half.

Ron Francis who was the original
general manager then became
President about a year and a half
resigned last week.  The Kraken
have had three head coaches
so likely won't change the position
now.  It is amazing since they did
made playoffs once.

It will be interesting to see what
changes  they will make.

This last season the Seattle Storm
lost all there free agents. Have
to see how things go there too.

The Mariners at least won the two
games over the Astros in the start
of this four game series. They are
only a game and a half out of first
place though early.  The A's lead
with 7-7 record. Hopefully the
Mariners will win at least one of
the two games in this series.

Mariners Make It Two

For  the second game in a row the
.Mariners beat the Astros on Saturday
night 8-7.

The Mariners began the game with
a two run homer by Cal Raleigh in
the first inning. The Astros scored
three runs in the second and third
then one run in the 4th.

Luis Castillo who started gave up
all seven runs on ten hits  before
being lifted in the 4th inning with
one out.  It looked dismall at the
time. The Mariners used five
relievers who gave up seven hits
however gave up no runs.

The Mariners scored five runs to
tie in the  5th inning. JP Crawford
hit a single to drive in two runs.
Cal had a sacrifice fly to score
Rivas then Julio had a home
run scoring JP ahead of him.

Everything was silent at least in
scoring until JP hit a single to
short left field to score Rivas
who had walked.

Sunday the Mariners will look
to win the series with Logan
Gilbert on the mound.

Brendan Donovan is expected
back on Sunday to start. How
JP has done in these two games
I would leave him leading off
for the meantime. Go M's.

Mariner End Losing Streak

The Seattle Mariners ended their five
game losing streak by beating the
Astro 9 to 6.

It wasn't as easy as you would think
although they could have scored more
runs. The Astros who have injuries
to their starting rotation the starter
in this game left after giving up three
runs in the first inning.  They could
have scored at least a couple more
runs.

It got tough in the top of the second
inning for Emerson Hancock where
he threw 3 to pitches in the inning.
The Astros were able to score three
runs thing the game. Hancock though
was able to survive going through
five innings.

In the bottom of  the fifth Randy Arozarena
hit a two run to end the tie. It was into
the second level. What I thought was
funny Randy hit his helmet a few times
right after the previous pitch. I think
he couldn't believe he didn't challenge
that pitch that was called a strike. You
have to decide fast to do so. If he
had challenged Randy might have
walked. I know the announcers didn't
see what I did it at least didn't mention
it.

In the 7th inning the Mariners scored
four runs to make it 9-3. That didn't
last long as the Astros had two straight
singled in the top of the 8th than Yordan
Alvarez hits a three run homer to make
it 9-6.

In the top of the 9th with Andre Munoz
in he walked two batters however he
was able to strand both runners with
with a ball hit to Rivas at who ran over
to third and stepped on the bag to
end it.

This is a four game series so important
to win the first game.  Luis Castillo will
start Saturday in game two. All nine
position players scored a run.  Ten
Mariners were walked in the game.

In his second game Kade Anderson
ended up striking out 11 of his first
14 batters. He ended up going five
innings. Let's see how he goes in
his next outing for Arkansas.

Gonzaga's Men's Transfer Portal

Gonzaga has lost five players in the
transfer portal as of now.  I am not
sure why leaving Gonzaga unless
you feel that the team won't be as
good in the coming season or you
want more playing time. Not making
it to the sweet sixteen might be a
a factor as well or having difficulties
with teammates or the coaching
staff.

The Zags weren't good at shooting
three pointers  so may look to pick
up a few guys there. Graham Ike
graduation will be a key to replace.
Braden Huff will be back after
missing the WCC schedule and
March Madness. Leaving the WCC
to the new Pac-12  could be another
reason players are leaving.  Not
playing St. Mary's or Santa Clara
might be an issue too.

Huff will be a key player next season.
Davis Fogle had a good freshman
season where he plays guard and
small forward will return as well
The same goes for Mario Saint-Supery
who had a good freshman season
to should get more playing time.

The Zags have three others returning
however two are walks and another
is redshirt freshman.  They have
three other player coming on board
that are recruits so look forward
to look at least a couple come
through the transfer portal.

The Washington State Cougars who
had a poor season last season has
had several go into the transfer portal
to. We will look to see who come
aboard. It is important they become competitive in the new Pac-12.  See
how Oregon State does to.

The Washington Huskies have four
who have entered the transfer portal.
The hardest is Zoom Diallo. We hope
he finds a way back. They are looking
at several players to come in so we
will at them in the next week or two
as well.  Danny Sprinkle felt he did
make some mistakes with the guys
leaving so hopefully he will grow in
that area.  The season was difficult
with so many players being injured
throughout the season. Tucker who
was hurt at the beginning and end
of the season said he was going to
declare for the NBA draft. I am not
sure why he should stay in college
for a other year to be healthy whether
st UDub or not. He could be back as
well. Go Dawgs.

NFL Draft In Two Weeks

Winning the Super Bowl the Seahawks
have the last pick of the first round.
The Seahawks have only three picks
so they drop down and pick up a
couple extra picks.

The Seahawks look at drafting a
running back along with an offensive
line and edge rusher. If they are able
to get additional picks we could see
a defensive back in the process.

If things work out the running back
could come in the second round.
If that were the case the Seahawks
would have two second round picks.
They could trade the second pick
in the second round and pick up
third rounder  along with another
pick. The Seahawks have a third
round pick but it is late so could
move down again.

The first day will be April 23 so we
will won't see the Seahawks pick
unti late if they keep. The second
and third I believe will be on  Friday.
4th through 7th will be Saturday
so the Seahawks won't have a
pick unless they make a trade or more.

The picks on Saturday will be guys
who would be playing special teams
mainly and we know how much it
means to have players on special
teams. Go Hawks!

Mariners Go 1 for 6

This wasn't hits the Seattle Mariners
though close to it. Wednesday
afternoon the Mariners lost  to the
Texas Rangers 3 to 0. We hope a
turnaround when they get home to
face the Houston Astros on Friday.

To give a grade for the road trip
I would give the pitching an A -.
They should have won all six games
or at least five. The pitchers did
a good job keeping them in each
game.

The offense I would give a D minus.
It would be an F  if it wasn't for
Cole Young and Brendan Donovan
who actually missed a few games.

The defense wasn't much better
so I have it a D and the same for
the coaching not setting up the
offense to succeed.

Emerson Hancock will start Friday
for the Mariners.  Victor Robles
went on the injured list and they
brought up   Connor Jo who can
play first base or the outfield.
Whether he was  the best choice
we will find out.  In the 5th inning
where the Rangers had all three
runs Jo did have a throwing error.
Woo only pitched five innings with
one run earned.  Makes sense to
take out Woo to fight another day.

Cole Young and Mitch Garver had
the only runs of the game. Please
guys let the offense turn around.
Go M's.

Mariners Lose 4th In A Row

The Seattle Mariners could have a
good record however now have lost
four games in a row.  Now they are
1-5 on this road trip. Bryan Woo
will go on Wednesday late morning
in Texas before coming home to
take on the Astros.

The Astros they gave four times. The
final game ends Monday afternoon
which I have never seen before.

Final Rangers 3 Mariners 2

Brendan Donovan again started the
game leading off with a home run.
The difference was later on George
Kirby made one mistake giving up
a two run homer. This is something
that  happens more frequently than
we like. The trouble though is the
Mariners can't execute when they
need to especially early on in the
season.

The only good thing is that George
Kirby was able to pitch all eight
innings. He thrown only 90 at the
end of the 8th. The Mariners did have
Luke Raley on the bases who got as far
as second bases.  Donovan ended the
game with a swinging bunt.

This was the fourth loss in a row
with good pitching. We hope the
Mariners can find a way to end this
steak. All four games were by a run.

Mariners Lose Series Opener To Rangers

So far not a good road trip for the Mariners.
Now  have lost 3 out of 4 with two remaining.
It is sad with the offense still struggling.
The Mariners could have easily won 3 of the
games.

Monday final Rangers 2 Mariners 1

The Mariners only run came on Cal's
first home run of the season in the
first inning. Logan Gilbert went six
innings giving up the two runs. Right
now he is like Randy Johnson and
Felix Hernandez getting little run
support. Felix might be in the hall
of game of he did have more run
support.

The Mariners had only two hits
in the game  including Cal's home
run. The other hit was by Arozarena.

Some  are saying the players who were
in the WBC are off to slow starts. We
know Cal didn't get the chance he
should have had. The Mariners seem
to always get off to a slow start. My
opinion they need more preparation
in spring training.

We hope the Mariners can turn it around
soon. George Kirby should start Tuesday.

Again I am tired of pitch hitting when
it comes to the platoon spots. Not
one hit today. Refsynder is 0 for 12.
Unless runners are in scoring position
leave whoever started in.  I won't
repeat myself since it is happening.
The Mariners are not a good pinch hitting
team.  Go M's.

Mariners Sunday Loss

The Seattle Mariners lose Sunday
letting the game get away from
them.

Come Young hit a three run homer
in the fifth to take the lead 5-3
then gave up two runs in the bottom
of the inning.  Leo Rivas had an error.
Whad I didn't understand was the
Mariners had infield come in.

The Mariners again had some trouble
scoring runners on base while the
Angels did better.

The game was tied after nine innings
at 6-6.   In the top of the 10th Josh
Naylor was about to move Julio
to third on a deep fly to left field.
Arozarena singled Julio in however
they couldn't bring in another run
as they did in game one. Angels batter
was hit so runners on first and second.
They bunted the runners along.
They tied the game with a sacrifice fly.

In the 11th the Mariners weren't able
to score. The Mariners intentionally
walked Zero and did the same thing
with a sacrifice but then a sacrifice fly
again to win.

Was this a bad coaching mistakes
that cost the Mariners the game
it seems so.

Now the Mariners to Texas  to face
the Rangers to turn things around.
Go M's.

Mariners Lose At Great Odds Saturday

The Seattle Mariners lost to the LA Angels
1-0. Emerson Hancock struggled a bit
in the first inning and gave up a home
run to shortstop Zach Neto to lead off
the bottom of the first. After that first
inning Hancock was amazing and lasted
until two outs in the seventh inning when
Eduardo Bazardo came in and finished
the game.

The amazing thing and this would  not
happen times in a career of an outfielder
than in one game. Right fielder Jo Adell
robbed the Mariners of three home runs.
Each one looked like a home run and
Adell was able catch all three over the
frnse. The first one was to  Cal Raleigh
then Josh Naylor. The final one was
the most amazing one of all. JP Crawford
looked like he was going to tie the score
in the top of the 9th. Adell actually went
diving into the stands to take the ball
Zaeay. JP  just staired not believing what
had happened.

Sunday the final game of the series
the Mariners will see if they can win it.
Luis Castillo will start. Brendan Donovan
didn't play Jose dr he could be back in
the lineup. He is day to day
 Go M's.

WSU and Washington Huskies Transfer Portal

Freshman Ace Glass who was the
WSU Cougars best player announced
he was going to enter the transfer
portal. I would say not a big surprise
though it will be a big loss for them.
This is for a team that will try to
build their team up and this will make
it harder.

The surprise move into the transfer
portal was on the Huskies. A team
that should be competing in the Big
Ten next season though it is a tough
conference for college basketball.
Talented guard who is getting better
and a local player from Tacoma
Washington Zoom Diallo announced
he is going to enter the portal. I hope
the Huskies convince him to stay.

I can understand player who want
to transfer for lack of playing time
or the program is having a change
at the coaching spot.  This must
be an underlying trouble with Zoom.
I believe the biggest trouble with
the portal is coaches recruiting
players from other schools. If
a player wants to move on need
of change of scenery as well so
be it.  NCAA need to put in rules
that this can't happen.  This
wouldn't have happened. This
is most unfair for the students,
alumini and fans for the schools.
Coaches need to only recruit
incoming freshmen only and
bring those in who have entered
the portal.  I can understand that
each player are free agents after
a season is over and now it is a
business. I can understand hiring
sn agent to however unlike the
NBA these agents should have a
limited role. It is like a lawyer who
is hired so his client is covered
under his rights.  This is my opinion.

Mariners Win In Ten

The pitching was really good for
the  Mariners and Angels for nine
in jngd. Going into extra innings
the score was 0-0.

Cole Young hit a triple scoring
Luke Raley. After Cal was out the
Angels walked Julio who ended up
going to second. Josh Naylor singled
driving in Young and Julio. In the
bottom of the 10th Mike Trout was
moved to third however an out
happened. Trout scored on a fly out.
The Angels were still down by 2.
Gabe Speier who was pitching
struck out the final batter on a call
3rd strike. Final M's 3 Angels 1

 Bryan Woo pitched fantastic giving
up one hit, one walk and struck out
six. Matt Brash pitched the 8th
followed by Munoz in the 9th and
then Speier.  Brash struck out 2
while Munoz struck out 3. The M's
were able to record 21 straight outs
to end the game. Both Naylor and
Arozarena both had two hits which
is good.

Brendan Donovan had to leave
the game hurtinh his leg. See how
it is Saturday. Leo Rivas took his
spot.

Down on the farm  the Arkansas
Travelers lost again to Midland
5-4. Kade Anderson pitched well
in his professional debut. He
pitched four innings. He gave up
five hits,  one walk and six strike
outs. Kade didn't give up a run.
Midland actually scored all five
runs in the 9th inning. Ryan Sloan
will pitch Saturday.

The Tacoma Rainers lost 10-5
at home against El Paso. The
Rainers had four runs in the
first inning after El Paso did.
Saturday the two teams will
play a double header.

Tacoma Rainers and Arkansas Travelers

The Rainiers beat El Paso 3-1 Thursday
night to even the series 1-2 after Wednesday
nights game was cancelled for rain and
the game will be made up in a double
header on Saturday. The weather expected
to be good.

No scoring happened until the sixth
inning when Carlos Rodriguez for El
Paso hit a single to right to drive in
a run.  In the bottom of the 7th Colt
Emerson hit a single followed by
Conner Joe with one out. Patrick
Wisdom flied out for the second
out. Carson Taylor hit a home run
scoring both Emerson and Joe
ahead of him. It was Taylor's first
home run of the season  and he is
only hitting .125. So the Rainier's
beat the odds too.

Gabe Mosser  who started for Tacoma
went six innings giving up the one run.
He had thrown 82 pitches. Blast Casano
pitched the seventh have up no hits
recorded his second win already.
None of the three relievers gave up
a hit for Tacoma.   Alex Hoppe recorded
his second save of the season. The
Rainiers are now have a record of 3-2.

The Arkansas Travelers lost their opening
game of the season Thursday at Midland
5-1. Starter Michael Morales only went
two innings surrendering two runs. In
all the Travelers used five pitchers.
Dh Hunter Fitz-Gerald hit a double
driving in Lazaro Montes for the only
run. The Travelers had only six hits
with Hunter having two.

Friday night Kade Anderson makes his
regular season professional debut for
the Travelers. The Mariners number one
pick and third overall we hope for better
success. Go Travelers.

The Arkansas Travelers

Thursday the Mariners double A team
starts their regular season. Mike Morales
starts the opening series followed by
Made Anderson make his regular season
pro career on Friday and Ryan Sloan on
Saturday. Not sure any double A team has
a better tip three starters. Let you know
how all three go in their first starts.

In other news the Mariners activated JP
Crawford to the 36 man roster. So we
could see him start on Friday night.
Ryan  Bliss was sent to Tacoma. This
means that Leo Rivas is the primary
utility player for now. Most likely he
will play some second and third base
as well as shortstop. Come Young
hss hit well against lefties so far however
against tough lefty Rivas could play.

In other local sports the Washington
Huskies and Washington State Cougars
football team have begun spring practice.
The  Cougars have lost five men into
the basketball team in the transfer portal.
We have to see how things go for them.
The Washington Huskies have one player
freshman Courtland Muldrew who said
he is going to enter the portal. Head
coach Danny Sprinkle admits that he
should have played Muldrew this season.
With freshman and the transfer portal
always is a sticky situation. The portal
doesn't begin until April 7th so who
knows if he can change Muldrew's
mind.  The Huskies shot poorly behind
the three point line so possibly they
may bring someone from the portal
to help them do we will see.

The Seattle Kraken who were doing good
earlier are now at  32-30 so they are now
looking more looking in than being in the
playoffs. We see if they can rebound.
Go Kraken.

Mariners Lose Again

For seven innings it looked like Mariners
were going to be shutout again.

Ben Rice one of the big Yankee guns
in the series hit a double in the first
inning driving in Cody Bellinger

Things were quiet until the sixth inning
when George Kirby gave up a couple
walks then Paul Goldschmidt a three
run homer.

Jose Ferrer pitched the 7th inning
and Cooper Criswell in the 8th. He
pitched two innings.

In the eighth being down 4-0  the Mariners
were able to get the bases loaded with two
outs Cal Raleigh Mr clutch came to the plate.
Dominic Canzone, Cole Young each got hits.
Brendan Donovan walked to load the bases.
Cal hit a single driving in Canzone and Young.
Julio though struck out with Donovan and
 Cal on the bases.

In the ninth down by two runs  Yankees
Ben Rice hit a home run off Criswell.
Yankees closer David Bendar  came in
to face Cal in the 8th.  He got into trouble
in the 9th when the Mariners had two
runners on base. Unfortunately Cole
Young struck out to end the game.
The Mariners did make him throw 40
pitches.

The Mariners have Thursday off and
go on the road to face the Angels on
Friday. Go M's.

Yankees Shut Out Mariners

The second of three games against
the Yankees there wasn't much good
news. Let you know what was positive
soon.

Final Yankees 5 Mariners 0

Max Fried left handed starter dominated
the Mariners for seven innings giving
up three of the Marines for hits.  Fried
signed a free agent contract with the
Yankees before the 2025 season. Fried
pitched eight seasons for the Atlanta
Braves. Last year for the Yankees
he was 19-5. He pitched the opener
against the San Francisco Giants and
didn't give up any runs in that game
either. He gave up two hits in 6 and
1/3 innings.

The Yankees scored two runs off Logan
Gilbert in the first inning. The Yankees
got the other three runs in the sixth
inning. Loganefy with one out. It was
the same players who did the job for
the Yankees in both innings.

First baseman Ben Rice hit a double
scoring Cody Bellinger for the Yankees
first run in the game.  Giancarlo Stanton
singled in Rice. In the sixth inning
Rice walked Stanton doubles  Bellinger
scores. Rice scores to.

The positive for the Mariners in the
game were the two relievers. Cole
Wilcox who was recalled from Tacoma
when Carlos Vargas went on injured
list came in for Logan. He gave up two
hits however no runs and three strike
outs. Casey Leguimina finished going
one and two-thirds not giving up a
hit or a walk.

George Kirby will start Wednesday
afternoon game in the final of the
Yankee series. He pitches like in
his first start the Mariners have a
good shot to win. Go M's.

The Tacoma Rainers lost their
home opener 6-4 Tuesday evening.
Starter Randy Dobnak have up all
six of the runs in four and two-thirds
innings. JP Crawford made a rehab
assignment at shortstop. He didn't
get a hit though walked once. Colt
Emerson who played third didn't get
a hit either. We will see how the Rainiers
do on Wednesday.

The Mariners and Colt Emerson Sign New Deal

Tuesday morning need came out that
the Seattle Mariners are going to
sign Colt Emerson to an eight year
contract for $95 million. There is an
option for a 9th year making it a total
of $130 million. That is the largest
contract for someone in his position.

This says to me that we will see him
shortly in a Mariners uniform. We
could see Colt play some third base
and shortstop for this season. JP
Crawford may come off the injured
list when the Mariners go on the
first road trip or during that trip.

What JP's future looks like in years
ahead is hard to know with the M's.
When he does play he will need to
have a good season. He has value
whether he starts or not. He will be
a free agent so it will depend what
another team looks at him as well
as the Mariners.

Throughout spring training Emerson
we heard that he looked good to be
the Mariners everyday shortstop. If
that is the case we could see Crawford
play some second base as well as
shortstop. I think third base maybe
harder to do so. Cole Young does look
like future second baseman however
time will tell though it looks good right
now. Whatever the case the Mariners
look to be in a good position.

Who next will the Mariners sign to
a long term contract? Logan Gilbert
looks like the main choice. George
Kirby could be after that although
the question is how much does he
like being a Mariner. Bryan Woo
looks to be a good choice to sign
though after Gilbert.

I guess we have had questions in the
Mariners ownership to sign free agents
to long and high contracts. This year
the Mariners traded for Brendan Donovan
who they could give a new contact before
Gilbert or Woo. We do know that the
Mariners need a third baseman though
Donovan can play multiple positions.
It does look like infield is set for the
future for a few years. Go M's.

Cal Hits Walk Off Single Over Yankees

The opening game of the series against
the New York Yankees worked out
like Mariners would like in a way.

Cal Raleigh didn't catch this game
or start at dh for that matter. Rob
Refsynder started his second time
at dh against a lefty.

This time Refsynder batted second
after leading off in his first start.
He is still waiting for his first hit
as a Mariner.   It looks like Refsynder
isn't going to to get a lot of at bats
against righties as Canzone who pinch
hit for won't have a lot against lefties.

Final was Mariners 2 Yankees 1

The Mariners scored first when Cole
Young hit a single driving in Randy
Arozarena in the second inning.

Luis Castillo pitched well going six
innings and not giving up a run. He
gave up two hits and two walks.
Also struck out seven including
his career 1500th.

Jose Ferrer pitched the seventh
getting one out and had a wild
pitch. Eduardo Bazardo gave up
a sacrifice fly though it was not
an earned run.  Gabe Speier pitched
the 8th and Matt Brash the 9th.
Cal who pinch hit earlier for Canzone
came up  with Leo Rivas on third
and Donovan on first. Cal pulled
the ball down the first base line
scoring Rivas for the walkoff run.

Tuesday Logan Gilbert will start
so the Mariners will see if they can
win the series in his second start.

The Tacoma Rainers beat Reno on
the road in their first series two out
of three games. Colt Emerson hit
a home run in the season opener.
Tuesday they home season against
El Paso.

Mariners Take On The Yankees

The Seattle Mariners had a 2-2 record
against the Cleveland Guardians in
the first series of the season.

Three out of the four games the
starting was excellent. Logan
Gilbert pitched ok in the opening
game however the bullpen the
game.  George Kirby pitch excellent
in game two with the Mariners winning.
Bryan Woo pitched well though gave
up two runs in the sixth inning. Julio
was able to tie the game in the bottom
of the 9th however the Guardians hit
a three run homer to win. The pitch was
on the outside for the homer.  Luke
Raley hit a two run homer in the bottom
of the 10th which wasn't enough.

Sunday the Mariners beat the Guardians
8-0. Emerson Hancock showed what he
could do by pitching a no-hitter through
six innings. Cooper Criswell finished
the final three innings giving up two
hits. Brendan Donovan, Luke Raley
and Dominic Canzone were the primary
hitters in the series all having home
runs.  The series already looked like
playoff baseball.

Now the Mariners play the Yankees for
three games in Seattle. The Yankees
are 3-0 leading with Aaron Judge.
It will be important to limit his hitting
as well as others. Luis Castillo will
make his first start of the season.
It will be important he gets off to
a good start for the Mariners to
win the series. Logan will make
his second start followed by Kirby.
It would be nice to take two out of three.
This is a key to winning baseball.
Go M's.

Mariners Shout Out the Guardians

First it was Emerson Hancock he went
six innings pitching a no-hitter.   He did
allow a walk however struck out nine.
The Guardians has trouble with his
sweeper.

Cooper Criswell pitched the final three
innings. He gave up two hits. He got a
hit early in the 7th inning however he
got out of it on a double play.  Cooper
didn't walk a batter and struck out five.
He to threw  a sweeper that the Guardians had trouble with. This means the bullpen
should be in good shape. Most likely
won't see Criswell in the Yankees series.

Hancock keeps pitching like this will
put the Mariners in a tough spot when
Bryan Miller comes back. At least
Miller should have a good rehab
assignment to be ready. The Mariners
could put Hancock back in the bullpen
or go with a six man rotation which they
did a few years ago. This comes down
to how healthy the rest of the starters
go too. Criswell shows he could be a
good long reliever or be ready to pitch
in the rotation if necessary.

The Mariners offense was silent until
the 4th inning.  The Guardians starter
to through a lot of pitches. Dominic
Canzone  got on followed by  Cole Young.
Leo Rivas singled to bring in Canzone.
Brendan Donovan hit a three run homer
to make it 4-0.  All four of these guys
had a good series.

In the 5th inning Randy Arozarena hit
a double scoring Julio and  Luke Raley
hit a single to bring in Randy. This made
it 6-0.  In the 6th inning Cal Raleigh had
his first big hit a double  driving in
Donovan making it 7-0. In the 8th
inning  Randy singled driving in Julio
who had gotten on by an error of the
Guardians infield making it 8-0.

The final Mariners 8 Guardians 0

This was the first game where the
whole Mariners offense contributed
in some fashion.   Mitch Garver is
the only position player who didn't
in the series. It looks like he won't
get much action unless he subs
for Cal.

Monday the Mariners will start
Luis Castillo in his first one of
the season against the Yankees.
Gilbert and Kirby should start
game two and three.

The Mariners will have Thursday
off so Woo will start on Friday
against the Angels followed by
Hancock on Saturday and Castillo
on Sunday. The Mariners have a
 road trip with Texas Rangers
starting on that Monday for three
more games. The rotation will
start again. They have Thursday
off again so that weekend will
play the Astros in Seattle plus
Monday for four games. Weird
schedule to me  since they go
to San Diego for three then
returning home to play the Rangers
again. Go M's.

Guardians Win In Ten Innings

The Seattle Mariners offense
continues to struggle however
the bullpen had trouble too.

Final Guardians 6 Mariners 5

The Mariners scored first in the
second inning when Victor Robles
doubled driving in Brendan Donovan.
The 4th inning Randy Arozarena
scored on a wild pitch.

Bryan Woo pitched outstanding
until the 6th where the Guardians
tied game.  The bottom of the
6th the Mariners had a couple
runs on but couldn't bring them
home. Eduardo Bazardo came
in the seventh surrendering a
run.

Julio Rodriguez hit a single in
the 9th scoring Cole Young.
He was down to two strikes
when he hit one to right field.

In the 10th Steven Kwan hit
a single to drive in the ghost
runner.  Chase DeLauter hit
his 4th home run of the series
scoring Kwan.  I am sure the
Mariners will be glad not to
face DeLauter when the Guardians
leave.

Luke Raley pinch hitting for Robles
hit a two run homer but the M's
couldn't at least tie the game

Emerson Hancock starts Sunday
to see if the Mariners can tie
the series. For the most part
the Seahawks top of the lineup
is looking to get started. Go M's.

Mariners Take Game Two

George Kirby pitched a good game going
six innings in his first start. He gave up
one run a homer in the first inning.
It was the same player the Mariners
gave up two home runs in the opener.

Final Mariners 5 Guardians 1

The Mariners finally scored in the 4th
inning on a three run homer from
Cole Young his first of the season.
Both Randy Arozarena and Dominic
Canzone had walked. This was the
key hit in the game. In the 6th inning
Luke Raley hit a home run for the
second time on the season. Again
Randy Arozarena had walked.

The Mariners had one other hit
on the night a triple by Leo Rivas
however no one was able to bring
him home.

Eduardo Bazardo pitched the 7th
followed by Matt  Brash in the 8th
and Andre Munoz in the 9th.
These three we could see in this
order many times this season.

The Mariners placed Carlos Vargas
on the injured list. He will be out
for some time. This will make
Eduardo very important this season.
Another reliever needs to step up.
Reliever Cole Wilcox was recalled
from Tacoma to take Vargas spot
The end of the Mariners bullpen
 now is Wilcox,  Casey Leguimina
and Cooper Criswell.

Bryan Woo will start Saturday night
and then Emerson Hancock on Sunday
late afternoon as the game will be on
NBC Sunday night baseball.
Luis Castillo will start the opener
against the Yankees on Monday
followed by Gilbert on Tuesday
and Kirby on Wednesday. Go M's.

Mariners Lose Season Opener

Despite a big crowd and excitement
the Mariners lost to the Cleveland
Guardians 6-4.

If you liked home runs you were
welcomed to a treat. Chase DeLauter
who was second in the lineup for
the Guardians hit a home run off
of Logan Gilbert in the first inning.
He hit a home run in the 9th inning
for the Guardians final run. That
was a key since it put them up
by two runs.

Brendan Donovan led off for the
Mariners with a home run in the
first inning. This was the first
time anyone led off with a home
run for the Mariners in a season
opener to have a home run.

In the second inning the Mariners
took the lead when Dominic Canzone
hit his first home run. He hit another
in the 7th inning.

In the 5th inning Brayan Rocchio
hit a double off of Logan Gilbert
to score two runs. Luke Raley
hit a homer run in the bottom
of the inning to tie it.

Logan Gilbert left after getting one
out in the 6th. Jose Ferrer made
his Mariners debut getting the
final two outs though gave up
two hits.

The 7th inning the Guardians got
two more runs on a double off
of Gabe Speier. Casey Leguimina
pitch the 8th and Cooper Criswell
,making his Mariners debut in the
9th.

Donovan and Arozarena each had
doubles however the Mariners were
unable to take advantage of them.

George Kirby will start Friday for
the Mariners do hopefully they
can rebound. Go M's

Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo Sign

Monday the press conference with
the signing of Jaxon Smith-Njigba
as the highest paid wide receiver
receiver in the NFL. This last season
he showed what he had now going
into his fifth year. It helps that he
isn't a selfish player either. The
Seahawks get him the ball when
he is open and the team needs a
big play.

We hope the Seahawks running
game will be good to make him
even more productive.

The Seahawks just signed receiver
and special teams player Jake Bobo.
He was a restricted free agent. He
signed avtwo year deal with Jacksonville
for aboutb$5.5 million. The Seahawks felt
he was valuable to retain especially being
so good on special teams. He can be
used when the Seahawks go to four
receiver too. Being in the clubhouse
I am sure helps too.

The Seahawks probably won't draft a
a wide receiver this year unless it is
best player available. The Seahawks
will hope a running back, offensive
lineman who can play right guard
and an edge rusher will be the three
top choices. Still go with best available.
Go Hawks!

Seattle Mariners Spring Training Wrapped Up

Monday afternoon the Mariners had
their final spring training game. They
lost to the Padres 10-3.

Luis Castillo started and pitched
well going five innings and throwing
75 pitches. He only walked one and
struck five. Luis gave up one run and
that happened in the 5th inning.

The Mariners got a run when Julio
hit a single scoring Brendan Donovan
and Cal advanced to third. Too bad
he wasn't able to score in the first.

Randy Arozarena scored the second
run on a homer in the 3rd inning.
Interesting Mitch Garver who made
the team as the backup catcher end
up playing first base. Who knows we
could see him there too.

Matt Brash pitched an inning. He
gave up a run however there was
an error. He didn't give up a hit
but a walk.  Carlos Vargas  did
fine in an inning. The rest of the
runs by the Padres were late off
of minor leaguers.

On the pregame radio show manager
Dan Wilson said that Bryce Miller
will start the season on the injured
list however won't be out long. In
fact he will throw in a minor league
game in Arizona. Go on a rehab
assignment. It looks like Emerson
Hancock  will make one start at
least.

Not sure yet about JP Crawford.
The Mariners faced a lefty Leo
Rivas was at short while Ryan
Bliss was at second.

Let you know how the bullpen
is set by Thursday. Go M's.

Seahawks Expected Two Big Signings

Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Devon
Whitherspoon are expected to
sign two the largest contracts
in NFL history.

Both players had great seasons
going into the fifth year of their
rookie contracts. Doesn't hurt
that both were instrumental in
getting the Seahawks to win
the Super Bowl.

Smith-Njigba was  NFL offensive
player of the year. He is expected
to sign a four year deal over $168
million. Whitherspoon is expected
to be a three year deal around
$86 million.  Both will be after
their fifth year is concluded.

A question will the Seahawks sign
another running back or wait and
draft one. Stay tuned.

Mariners Win Sunday Night

The Mariners beat the Chicago
White Sox 4-2 Sunday night.

Nothing official yet however Mitch
Garver hit a home run in his  first
at bat of the night and then drove
in the second run as well the word
is that he has made the ball club
as the backup catcher.

No one was really impressive
as far as hitting the ball among
the candidates. Being familiar
with the pitching staff likely
made the difference. You have
go figure that Garver will play
once a week at catcher. If he
does bring along his offense
than we could see him behind
the plate twice a week at times.
The Mariners are hoping to get
Cal some relief behind the plate
and things work out will make
the difference.

The first couple weeks at least
the Mariners will have a couple
days off so that gives Cal some
rest.

Bryan Woo started Sunday night
and he went six innings. He gave
up  three hits including a double
that  scored a run. He walked zero
and  struck out four. If he pitches
this way much of the season he
will win a lot of games.

Andre Munoz came in the 7th
and gave up no hits or runs.
He did walk a batter and struck
out one too.  Luis Castillo will
start Monday afternoon in the
final spring game. Thursday
will be the season opener at
home against the Cleveland
Guardians.

We will see whether shortstop
JP Crawford will be on the
opening roster and the same
goes for starting pitcher Bryce
Miller. If Miller does start the
season he won't have to pitch
for a week from tomorrow.

We will give you the details on
both and who will take both
players spot if they go on the
injured list.  Go M'S.

The Washington Huskies Men's Basketball 2025-26

The recent season of the Washington Huskies was a difficult one.  I am sure everyone
in the program wanted more success than
what happened.

The Huskies were riddled with injuries
and they played in the tough Big Ten
Conference.  The conference ended up
with nine teams going to the NCAA tournament. Michigan who won the
regular season was a number one
seed in the tournament. Nebraska was
the unsung team in the conference
now going to the sweet sixteen. They
had never won a game in the tournament
in the history of their program.

German born freshman Hannes Steinbach
led the Huskies in scoring and rebounding.
Without him the Huskies would have had
less wins. The Huskies had conference
record of 7-13 tied with USC for 12th
place. The Huskies actually beat USC
twice in the regular season and again
in the Big Ten Tournament. They lost
to Wisconsin who made the  NCAA tournament however only by three points
in the  Big Ten Tournament.

When the Big Ten Tournament happened
the Huskies had only seven healthy  scholarship players.  The Huskies likely
lose Steinbach to the NBA and Quimari Peterson who is a senior.  Peterson
started the season coming off the bench
however with injuries he had to go into
the starting lineup. Both of these guys
the Huskies will have to look into the
transfer portal to replace.

Zoom Diallo and Wesley Yates are
the two next important players next
to Steinbach. They both will be juniors
next season so they likely take another
step forward.

My grade for the Huskies would be
incomplete since injuries were not
allowed to see how good the team was.
In the months ahead we will hear
about at least two new new players
coming in for significant playing
times and a freshman or two as
well. Go Dawgs!

Cubs Beat the Mariners Saturday Night

The Cubs beat the Mariners 7-1.
George Kirby started and pitched
well. Likely he will pitch game
two the regular season.

Kirby went five and one-third
innings give up six hits and one
run in the first inning. Gabe Speier
came in and struggled giving up
three runs on four hits including
a home run. Eduardo Bazardo
pitched the seventh inning giving
up one hit and no runs. It was
minor leaguers who went the
rest of the way.

News came out Saturday that
Colt Emerson is being sent
down  to start the season with
triple A Tacoma. At some
some point of the season we
will see Emerson in a Mariners
uniform.

It will be interesting what other
moved will be made. Will JP
start the season of go on the
injury list. The Mariners likely
go with five infielders and
six outfielders/db. Go M's.

Day Three Of NFL Draft 2026
