Another Loss By the Mariners

For the second game in a row the Mariners
lost to the Padres 7-4. It really wasn't that
close until the Mariners rallied in the 8th
inning.

Logan Gilbert struggled giving up three
home runs. The first home run was in the
second but the Mariners couldn't get
any runs themselves. The big inning for
the Padres was the 4th win they scored
four runs including a three run homer
the first of the season he gave up. Prior
to that Gilbert had given up solo home
runs.

The Mariners kept Logan in the game
until the seventh inning with two outs
he gave up a two run homer.  Outside
the three home runs be only gave up
one run.  I expect the Mariners wanted
to keep the bullpen fresh.

Manager Dan Wilson was rejected from
the game before Logan was taken out.
He argued when a Padre check swing
was not called a strike. Though it
didn't allow the Mariners to win I do
home that puts the players in a place
to win several games in a row. Go M's.

Seattle Mariners Shut Out

The Seattle Mariners were shut out
by the San Diego Padres Friday 2-0.

The Mariners continue nothing being
able to beat the Padres this season.
Hopefully they will turn it around
Saturday and Sunday.

The Mariners have shown they can
score a lot of runs however it has
been inconsistent. Cal Raleigh
though he hasn't hit well yet was
out in the injured list for ten days.
They still don't know how serious
Cal's injury is but they are hoping
the ten days will give him enough
time.

The Mariners will have him around
this weekend however he is expected
go go to Arizona for a few days as well.
He may work on his hitting if he can.
The question is how will they be without
him.

It took the Padres until the 4th inning
go score the first run on a double.
The second run was in the 7th inning
on a ground to Josh Naylor.

The .stoners had seven hits. Randy Arozarena had two which keeps him on a good pace
howe dr they couldn't take advantage of it.
Also Cole Young had two hits. Randy is now
hitting .301 and Cole is at .248 and has 24 rbis. If he keeps that rate he will drive in
a lot of runs.  In fact if he doesn't play in
all the Mariners games at this rate he will
have 88 rbis at the end of the season.

I know fans have to be confused still
as Connor Joe and Rob Refsynder both
pinched hit. Joe had a walk however
Refsynder went 0 for 2. No matter what
the data says how Raley and Canzone
hit against lefties right now it isn't working.
The Mariners should change things up for at least a short period.

The other three hits in the game were by
Brendan Donovan, Josh Naylor and Canzone.
This is another question if Canzone has a hit
already why not keep him the game.

Besides giving up the one run Emerson Hancock was able to go six innings. He
only walked one batter. Cooper Criswell
went an inning and gave up a run.  Jose
Ferrer and Alex Hoppe both went an
inning giving up no runs and giving the
Mariners.

Now we will see how they do on Saturday.
Go M's.

Seattle Seahawks 2026 Schedule

The  Seahawks have six prime time
games on this coming season.

The preseason will begin on August
15 against the Dallas Cowboys at
home. They play them again in week
13.  The other two preseason games
are on the road at Tennessee and
Kansas City.

Opening season begins on September
9 at home against New England who
they beat in the Super Bowl.

The NFC East and the AFC West are the
primary opponents outside their division
this year. In the NFC West they play the
49ers in October and the Sunday after
Thanksgiving. They don't play the Rams
until week 16 and 18. We will know how
important those games will be. The
Cardinals they play on the road in week
2 and week nine. They have their bye
in week 11 before playing the 49ers
right after Thanksgiving.

This might be a tough schedule however
durable. Go Hawks.

How 2025 former Mariners Are Doing Now

Ss we know the ones best known
Eugenio Suarez is with the Cincinnati
Reds who he played for before being
traded to the Mariners the first. Eugenio
though hurt right now and on injured list.
The same goes for Jorge Polanco with
the Mets.  Harry Ford traded to the
Nationals for Jose Ferrer is currently
at triple A and hasn't gotten off to a
good start like he had in Tacoma year.

The Mariners had 31 pitchers last
year so many that are not on the
roster this year we wouldn't remember
some of them.  The second Luis Castillo
is one to remember. After the Mariners
he went to the Orioles. He now is pitching
in Mexico.

Trent Thirton who had some success
in the Mariners bullpen before being
hurt last year and missing the rest of
the season. He was signed by the  Chicago Cubs after the Mariners didn't tender
him a contract. He has only pitched in
three games so far all in May and hasn't
given up a run yet.

Collin Snider who had a very good season
for the Mariners in 2024 where he began
coming in games early digressed in 2025
and sent to Tacoma is in the minor leagues
this year for the Chicago Cubs. I hope he
makes his way back to the majors.

Caleb Ferguson who the Mariners picked
up at the trading deline last year as a second
lefty to Gabe Speier signed with the Cincinnati Reds is currently on rehab assignment. They
hope hin to be a good lefty out of the bullpen
for them.

Gregory Santos who the Mariners acquired
before the 2024 season  however the two years he spent primarily on the injured list.
The Mariners were hoping him to match up with Matt Brash in the late innings which
now has gone to Eduardo Bazardo. He is
now in the San Francisco Giants organization.
He briefly was up this season. Hopefully
he can stay healthy and be the reliever
the Mariners thought he would be.

Tayler Saucedo who was with the Seattle
Mariners and was a local who grew up
being a Mariners fan had success with
the Mariners his first two years as a lefty
out of the bullpen. Last year he didn't
have the same success and spent time
in Tacoma. He was a fan favorite so
people will always remember him. He
signed a free agent contract with the
Angels during the off season.  He has
only pitched in one game for the Angels
so we see how he does  in the future.
We hope that some point we will see
him pitch against the Mariners.

Now look at the Seattle Mariners infield.
Dylan Moore  who spent just over six and
a half seasons with the Mariners primarily
as a utility player. Though his bat for the
Mariners for the most part wasn't great
his fielding and versatility playing every
infield and outfield. With the injuries the
Mariners had and not a lot of depth in
the outfield he was valuable in that way.
His second season he had his best season
hitting hose rr never lasted where he could
be an everyday player especially at second
base where he tried to be a starter. In
2024 he got an award with gold glove
as the utility player.  In 2025 he played
88 games for the Mariners before he was
released and played the rest of the season
with the Rangers.  He had a good start
hitting in 2025 his bat went silent after
hitting well the first month. His defense
wasn't as good either. This season he
began with the Phillies however he was
out on waivers after not getting any hits
on a team that is struggling in its self.
He is now in their triple A team after
going through waivers. We to hope he
finds his way back to the majors.

Ben Williamson who came up early
in the season as a rookie in 2025
played exceptional defense at third
base before the Mariners traded for
Eugenio Suarez at the trading deadline.
His offense wasn't as much as the M's
wanted as far as power goes.  In
January 2026 Ben was traded in the
three team swap to acquire Brendan
Donovan from the Cardinals.  Ben
went to Tampa Bay where he is playing
more second than third however still
playing good defense.  I am sure it
would be nice to have his defense at
third acquiring Donovan was  a good
thing. The Mariners number one prospect
Colt Emerson will likely be the Mariners
future third baseman though could be
at short depending the future of JP
Crawford who is in the final year of
his contract.  Donovan maybe the M's
super utility player in the long run.

Rowdy Tellez  was the left handed hitting
platoon in 2025 at first base and dh.
Injuries to Like Raley had him play more
at first base.  Rowdy had 11 home runs
for the Mariners but his batting average
was disappointing. After waivers he
played for the Rangers. Although his
batting average was higher his home
runs dropped off. He currently playing
for the Atlanta Braves triple A team.

Donovan Solano was the right handed
platoon startingsst season for the M's.
For several seasons the Mariners have had
trouble signing a right handed bat for
success.  This year Rob Refsynder has
been a disappointment. The Mariners
do hope he does turn things around.
This experience shows the Mariners
shouldn't go in this direction again.
Solano at this time isn't playing in the
major leagues.

Leody Taveras  who the  Mariners
acquired from the Texas Rangers
last season because of injuries
to Victor Robles and Luke Raley
played 28 games batting .198
before being sent to triple A Tacoma.
This year he is playing for the Orioles.
Though he has only two home runs
in 36 games he is hitting .248.

Those are some of the players who played time for the 2025 season.  Go M's.

Mariners Bounce Back

First of all  Cal Raleigh went on the
injured list.  Mitch Garver started
on Friday. He actually hit a home
with a runner on base. The score at
the became 5-1.

Final Mariners 8. Astros 3

Julio Rodriguez  had no hits on
the day however the rest of the
lineup made up for him. Julio
has had a good month hitting
so an off day is ok especially like
this.

Luke Raley started off hitting a
three run homer in the first inning
followed by Mitch Garver's. It
would be nice if the Mariners
could start Raley some games
against lefties. He might not hit
lefties well however he won't get
better if he doesn't face any.

Cole Young hit a double to bring
in the next two runs and JP Crawford
with the final run on a double too.
This tells me the Mariners don't have
always hit home runs to score.

Alvarez hit a home run in the third
inning for the Astros first run.
Before he was taken out in the
6th inning Luis Castillo gave up
two runs on a double that Alvarez
scored on again. Outside of that
Castillo pitched well. If he and
Miller peggy back on each other
should he start and Miller come
in. Being a long time starter
Castillo get the chance. I could see
him go five innings and Miller four.
It could be the other way around
depending on the game.

Emerson Hancock will start Friday
at home against the San Diego
Padres. Logan Gilbert will start
Saturday and George Kirby Sunday.
They take on the White Sox at home
Monday thru Wednesday. Go M's.

The Seahawks Defense Into 2026

The Seahawks lost three players from
the defense however done replacing
that hope to be be better.

All pro Devon Witherspoon is now
listed as the left cornerback instead
of nickelback. Depending on downs
he could be seen at linebacker as well.
The Seahawks will look that they won't
have to rush in  other players. Versatility
among players.

Nick Emmanawori who had a great
rookie season last year is now listed
at nickelback but will be seen other
positions as well.  Josh Jobe who
played a lot at safety last year is now
listed at right cornerback. Julian Neal
drafted third round is listed as his back
up.

Julian Love will start at strong safety
with Rodney Thomas his backup.
Ty Okada who started 11 games last year
will start at free safety. Second round
pick Bud Clark is listed as his backup.

Earnest Jones will again be the middle
linebacker. Patrick O'Connell will be his
backup. Uchenna Nwosu be the strong
side linebacker  and Derrick Hall his
backup.  Drake Thomas who had a good
season will be weakeside linebacker.
Tyrice Knight former starter will be his
backup.

On the defensive line at defensive end
will be Leonhard Williams. Mike Morris
moves to the outside to be his backup.
DeMarcus Lawrence will be on the
other side called Rushing position.
Dante Fowler Jr. recently signed is
listed as the backup.

Byron Murphy II will be the nose tackle
and Brandon Pili over from the Dolphins
will be his backup. Jarran Reed again will
be the defensive tackle with Rylie Mills
who played late last year out of Notre
Dame is listed as his backup. News is
that he could play some on the outside
too.

The Seahawks win the Super Bowl
again the defense will be a major reason.
Go Hawks!

Mariners Lose Wednesday Night

It took the Astros ten innings to
beat the Mariners 4-3. The Mariners
had runners on bases in the top of
the tenth but we're not able to score
a run so gave the Astros chance to
score only one run to win.

JP Crawford hit a home run to lead
of the game. Luke Raley hit a homer
in the second. The Astros scored
three runs before Julio Rodriguez
was able to tie the game in the top
of the 9th with two outs walking on
3-2 pitch.

Bryce Miller in his first major league
start of the season gave up two runs
in five and one - third innings.  The
Mariners used six relievers giving
up four hits only.  The Mariners
really lost for lack of hitting and
coaching.  Go M's.

Mariners Beat Struggling Astros Again

For the second game in a row the
Mariners beat the Astros on Tuesday
night 10-2.

The Mariners scored two runs on
a home run by Randy Arozarena in
the second inning. The Astros
bounced back with a run in the
bottom of the second and  third.

Dominic Canzone hit a grand slam
in the 4th inning his career first.
The Mariners added a run in the
5th and 7th plus two in the 9th
for good measure. Arozarena
went four for four and four runs.
Good news on the Cal Raleigh
side as he had two hits while
scoring three times.

Bryan Woo went six innings
before Alex Hoppe came in
for two innings. With the big
lead along with throwing over
a hundred pitches was enough
for Woo. Hoppe gave up no
hits and struck out two. He
seems  like the real thing.
Domingo Gonzalez who was
activated taking Jose Ferrer
spot while on paternity leave.
Most likely return when the
Mariners come home on Friday.

Bryce Miller is expected to
start Wednesday night against
the Astros for the first time of
the season. Not only should
Ferrer be reactivated on Friday
Matt Brash is expected to come
off the injured list. Go M's.

Look At Seahawks Tight Ends and Offensive Line

NFL teams are more going with
three tight ends on occasion.
How often we will see with the
Seahawks will find out.  It will
likely be done in short yardage.
AJ Barner will be the number
one tight end and be in mostly
on passing downs. He has shown
to be a good receiver.

The number two tight end right
now listed is  Eric Shaubert who
made some important catches
last year. Elijah Arroyo a rookie
last year as a second pick  missed
some time with injuries could be
number two though listed at
number three right now. These
three could give some surprises.

The offensive line will be interesting.
The left tackle and guard will likely
stay the same as far as the starters.
Charles Cross at left tackle while
last year's number one pick Grey
Zabel at left guard. This year's
fifth round pick Beau Stephens
is listed as his backup. The right
guard spot has shown some down
grade so we could see him on that
side as a starter or a backup as well.

At the right tackle will be former
Washington State Cougar  Abraham
Lucas. Last year he was healthy
unlike a couple bad years so that
is good news. Amari Kight is his
backup.  Anthony Bradford is the
current starter at right guard however
that spot could change. His backup
is Christian Haynes  who has been a disappointment and this is where
Beau Stephens comes in where he
could play right tackle.  Offensive
lineman can be interchangeable
however Cross, Zabel and Lucas
should stay the same. At some
point center could be Zabel's best
spot but that could be another
year or two.

.Mariners Win In Houston

The Seattle Mariners were able to
win Monday evening in Houston
in game one 3 to 1.

George Kirby looked good even though
he was only able to go five innings.
He gave up the one run in the fifth
inning. The four relievers did a
good job just giving up one hit.

The Mariners scored two runs in
the second inning with back to
back hits by Canzone and Cole
Young driving in Arozarena and
Luke Raley.  Julio hit a massive
home run in the third inning  for
the last run. He missed a home run
in the first inning as the ball just
went foul to left field.

 Cal Raleigh  continues to struggle
at the plate without getting a hit
however his swing did look good
though. We hope he gets out of it
on Tuesday.  Bryan Woo will
start Tuesday.  Go M's.

Seahawks Depth Chart Heading Into 2026

We are looking at the Seahawks offense
first here. Sam Arnold stays as the number
one quarterback. I expect if he has a
season lije  this last one he will get a
new extension. Drew Lock is number 2
at this point. Last year as a rookie Jalen
Milroe played sparingly and may do so
again. His legs are a strong point so we
could see him come in sometimes when
the Seahawks are in the red zone. He could be used in short downs to as a change up.

Zach Charbonnett and Ken Walker III
had about the same amount of carries
last season. While Zach won't be on the
team when the season begins number
one draft pick Jadarian Price most likely
will share time with free agent Emmanuel Wilson or George Holani who has always looked good in preseason games.  Both
likely to run much like Charbonnett.   According to head coach Mike MacDonald Price will work with every unit.

The Seahawks will likely go with a
fullback once again. Robbie Ouzts
is listed as the starting  fullback.
He was hurt some of last  year.
His important job is to block
for the running back however we
will see him run once in a while as
a change up. Brady Russell is listed
as his backup however could see
him some at tight end and especially
on special teams.

At wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba
will be the number one guy. Jake
Bobo is listed as his number two.
Rashid Shaheed who signed a big
contract as he became a free agent
will be on the other side. He likely
be the high playmaker as well as
punt returner.  Tory Horton is listed
as  Shaheed backup at both spots.
We could see him some on punt
returns to keep Shaheed healthy.
Don't be surprised to Shaheed do
some runs as well.

Cooper Kupp will be the third receiver.
We may see him make maybe three
catches a game however he is shown
as a good blocker and he is a coach
on the field too. Sixth round pick
Emmanuel Henderson Jr is listed
as his backup. See how that works
out.

Next time we will look at the tight
ends as well as the offensive line.
Go Hawks!

Mariners Give Up Another Game Sunday

The Seattle Mariners could have or
should have swept the White Sox
instead they lost 2-1.

Logan Gilbert pitched a fantastic
game giving up just one hi. Also
he had 16 straight outs to end his
time in the game after six innings.

The Mariners scored their one run
in the first inning when Randy Aroza-
rena drove in Julio.  In the seventh
inning Connor Joe hit a double then
JP moved him to third out on a ground
out.  Rob Refsynder pinch hitting for
Canzone struck out. Again this shows
me that using Refsynder in this situation
is not working.  Cole Young flied out.
The White Sox got their two runs in
the bottom of the 8th with a home run
and a sacrifice fly.

The White Sox had five hits while the
Mariners had seven. Now the Mariners
go play the Astros for four games.
We hope they play better.

Saturday, May 9, 2026

Mariners Lose Saturday Evening

The Seattle Mariners continue to
have trouble hitting against lefties.
Also Luis Castillo still trouble
pitching as well.

Final White Sox 6 Mariners 1

Luis Castillo gave up a two run homer
in the first inning and another in the
third inning.  He lasted only four innings.

The only run was when Mitch Garver
walked then came home on a Refsynder
sacrifice fly.  Though he isn't hitting
well in limited action he continues
to be willing to walk.  We do hope
Refsynder starts to hit soon too. He
is playing sparingly as well however
as a veteran he should be used to it.

Leo Rivas was back at third base.
I expect right now the Mariners
are trying to use him against
righties.  We hope he is able
to play more often soon.

My thinking is the Mariners need
to pick up another right handed
back.

Bryce Miller is expected to start
on Wednesday. There looks like
the two might piggy back on
each other though not the first
round this coming week. Whether
Castillo will start and Bryce come
in after a few innings or possibly
the other way around. We will
find out. How it affects the other
starters we will see too.

The minor leaguers are pitching
once a week at this time. So
this could be normal in the future.
I like the old days when there were
four starters. The Mariners though
have had five solid starters so for
this team makes sense.

For minor leaguers they look so
injuries won't happen as often.
This is especially true for pitchers
who pitched in college where they
throw a lot of innings.

The Mariners will go to seven
relievers for the meantime. Not
sure however one will be sent
down to the minors if they have
options to do so.
Go M's.

Mariners Win Opening Game On Road Trip

The Seattle Mariners started out well
however let the White Sox back into the
game. Final Mariners 12  White Sox 8

Luke Raley was the player of the game
having his first grand slam of his career.
Unfortunately Emerson Hancock wasn't
able to keep the lead. Later Raley had
a three run homer. He was one run
short in tying for driving in the most
run in a game.

Josh Naylor had a great game to having
three hits and had a three run homer later
after Raley's. Arozarena had three hits
too. Julio had a home run too.

Luis Castillo should start on Saturday.
We see how he does whether to get
better. Go M's.

When Should The Mariners Make a Trade

We know the Seattle Mariners will
likely trade at the deadline however
should they before the deadline.

We know the Mariners are struggling
against left handed hitting. It is
interesting that Cole Young is the
best hitter against lefties this season
and he bats left-handed and he is
in his first full season.

Rob Refsynder has been a disappointment
so far in this season hitting .140. The
Mariners have had trouble with acquiring
right handed bats the last several years
to platoon or pinch hit. Refsynder has
had a poor history pinch so I have no
idea why they use him that way.

Connor Joe is the other right handed
bat at the moment. Victor Robles is
doing a rehab assignment right now.
Not sure when he will be back however
Joe will likely be sent down. Does this
mean that the Mariners should look to
make a trade for a right handed bat
that is hitting well right now.

Bryce Miller is about to return after
doing multiple rehab pitching. What
does that mean to the rotation. One
story I heard is that they will do back
to back. What does that mean. It
sounds like starting Luis Castillo
will start and go four or five innings
then Bryce Miller will come in. This
could mean for one game in every
five the bullpen will have a day off.
One reliever like Munoz or Jose Ferrer
could pitch the 9th inning depending
on the score.

Luis Castillo is currently the 5th
starter and how Emerson Hancock
has been pitching this is a good
idea. This maybe better than going
to a six man rotation. In either
case the Mariners will have seven
in the bullpen. Having this would
be better than going to a six man
rotation.

Even if the Mariners don't pick up
another right handed bat now June
or July will be a good time. All
comes down to their record. If
they can have a good record in
May then waiting until July might
be the best.

Brendan Donovan is expected back
Friday. This means they will go back
to two catchers likely and Rivas will
be the utility player which he can do
better. We hope for a good road trip.
The White Sox are doing better than
the last few years however are beatable
for the Mariners to win two out of three.
The Mariners should have a good time
in Houston as the Astros are still
having injury trouble so if the  M's
can take three out of four would be
good.  Go M's.

Washington Huskies Football Heading Into 2026

All depending on the poll the Washington Huskies are in the top 25 or just outside
of it.

The Huskies have a young team. They
have 25 freshman and 14 transfers.
Last year they had a good impact by
freshman so we will see how they do
in their second year.

Of the transfer the one with the most
to have an impact is running back
Jayden Limar. Whether he starts
or is number two should see good
action. Another is Christian Moss
wide receiver and he missed the spring
training. Until the season starts we
will look at other players who could
make a difference.

The Washington State Cougars had
to do a major overhaul when new
head coach Kirby Moore onboard.
They have 9 offensive and 17 defensive
players.

The Cougars are expected to be one of
the top teams in the new Pac-12 with
Oregon State and Boise State who
joins in. The Broncos have always been
a good team in the Mountain West.

The Cougars have always been a good team
throwing the ball and hope to continue
the history in that regard. It is getting the
running game going and having a good
defense. How the Cougars season goes
will have to come down to the defense.

The Cougars have three quarterbacks
competing for the job so we will see
who comes out the winner initially.

Both schools men's basketball lost
players in the transfer portal. The
Huskies have done well replacing
guys so we see how they do. The
Cougars will likely have more trouble
doing so. For one they will have to
compete with state rival Gonzaga
for players in the same conference
as well as the Huskies. Depending
on the players the Cougars are likely
number three.

We will see how all three go in basketball
as well as Huskies and Cougars in
football. Go teams.

Mariners Win Wednesday Afternoon

The Mariners were able to come back
after being swept by the KC Royals
over the last weekend. They beat the
Braves the best record in the major
leagues taking Eq2  first and last game
of the series.

Cal dh once  again drove in the first
run in the third inning while playing
into a double play. He didn't get a
hit at all. Is he still hurting that bad.
At least he gets a day off tomorrow.

Julio who has been hitting well of
late hit a home run in the 6th inning.
Bryan Woo came back after a couple
bad outings to shutout the Braves
over six innings.

Cooper Criswell did fine pitching the
seventh. Bazardo struggled in the 8th
giving up three hits however only gave
up one run to make it a close game.

Cole Young who leads the Mariners in
runs batted in had his 20th driving
Josh Naylor in with a double from
second in the 8th.

Jose Ferrer pitched the 9th in his
third outing straight against the
Braves.  He received the save.
He seems to be the guy the Mariners
can use if Munoz is rested. Ferrer
is the key lefty now while Speier is
on the injured list.

Final Mariners 3  Braves 1

The Mariners have Thursday off
then play the Chicago White Sox
Friday thru Sunday on the road.
Next week Monday thru Thursday
they play the Astros in Houston.

The  Mariners are now second place
a game a half behind the Athletics.
Go M's.

Tuesday, May 5, 2026

Mariners Lose By One

The Mariners seem to play a lot
of one run games so far this
season. They won .Monday night
however the Braves did so Tuesday.

George Kirby pitched well giving up
two runs in the 4th inning on a double.
He went seven innings. The Mariners
scored two before the Braves did in
bottom of the third. JP Crawford hit
another two run homer with Mitch
Garver on with a walk.

The game was tied until the 9th.
Matt Olson hit  a solo homer off
Andre Munoz.   The Mariners need
to find a way not allow their own
pitchers not to give up home runs.

The Mariners and Braves play
Wednesday afternoon to see who
takes  the series.  Bryan Woo will
see if he can rebound from his
last two starts and the hitting
gets going too.

The Mariners had Cal Raleigh back
being  dh. He went hitless though.
Go M's.

Seahawks Rookie Camp

Friday and Saturday the Seahawks had their
minicamp for rookies and othereho showed up.

First round pick  Jadarian Price showed
his speed in the drills. Also showed that
he can catch the ball coming out of the
back field.

Last year the fullbacks didn't get as much
action because of injuries. The Seahawks
new offensive coordinator came over from
the 49ers. They use full backs to so be
interesting to see how the Seahawks do
this coming season. When Zach Charbonnett
gets back the Seahawks could use him
and Price in the backfield at the same
time on occasion.

Bud Clark second pick and Julian Neal
third round pick both defensive backs
showed how good they are in coverage.

Beau Stephens the next pick is seen
to be important guy at guard. He
was seen both at right and left guard
in practice. Most likely not a starter
he will be valuable as a backup.

Sixth round pick wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson Jr showed his good speed.
Making the roster though will come down
to special teams.

Marvin Jones Jr.  edge rusher was the
most impressive of the undrafted free
agents with his speed.  He looks like he
maybe a keeper.

We will see how things go in the next
mini camp. Go Hawks.

Mariners End Skid

It wasn't easy to however the Mariners
ended their three game losing streak.
With injuries piling on top of that.

Final  Mariners 5   Braves  4

The Mariners really needed this win.
Again they were without  Cal Raleigh.
Not being specific he has soreness
on his right side. We see whether he
will be back on Tuesday or they put
him on the injured list.

Logan Gilbert  went six innings.
He gave up a home run leading.
off the game then did fine until
the sixth inning where he gave
up three home runs with the last
two back to back leading 4-0.
I wonder if Logan telegraphs
his pitches since most of his
runs always are give up on home
runs.

In the bottom of the sixth JR Ritchie
a rookie who happens to have been
born in Seattle and went to Bainbridge
High School. He walked Arozarena
and Canzone when Luke Raley hit
a three run homer which made it
promising.   The Braves lifted Ritchie
with no outs.  Mitch Garver walked
and after getting Leo Rivas out  JP
Crawford had a two run home run
to take the lead.

Jose Ferrer came in the seventh
recording  although he did give up
a single he started the eighth
getting one out. Eduardo Bazardo
got the final two outs  though he did
give up a hit. Munoz came in the 9th
and recorded the save.

Tuesday George Kirby will start
for the Mariners. The Mariners
before the game had to put reliever
Gabe Speier on the injured list
with inflammation to his left shoulder.
The Mariners activated lefty Jose
Suarez who they had claimed on
waivers from the Braves. Also they
brought back up lefty Josh Simpson
who they had just sent down without
seeing any action. Cole Wilcox was
sent down in that move. The Mariners
now have three lefties to cover while
Speier is out for now. Go M's.

Mariners Are Swept

The Mariners were swept by the Royals
losing 4-1. This was all after going 5-1
on the last road trip.

Luis Castillo gave up four runs in six innings.
The Mariners scored in the third inning
with Josh  Naylor on a force out.

Things went bad in the 4th inning when
the Royals loaded the bases before scoring
three runs. He gave up the final run in the 6th
inning.

The only plus was the Mariners were able
to get through the last three innings
without using high leverage relievers.
Now they take on the Atlanta Braves
beginning withogan Gilbert. It will
be nice if the Mariners will be able to
game at least two games. Not sure
yet when Cal will be back in the lineup.
Go M's.

Another Disappointing Loss

The Mariners lost again to the Royals
by one run 3-2. This reminds me
some of Randy Johnson losses
as a Mariner on a night they retired
his number 51.

Emerson Hancock pitched a great
game giving up one run in seven
innings. The story is greater he
struck out 14 batters and didn't
walk a batter.

The Mariners were leading 2-1
when Emerson left the game.
The Royals scored a run to
tie on an error by Julio that
doesn't happen often in the
9th. The Royals scored on
a sacrifice fly in the 10th
The Mariners couldn't match
it.

Now the Mariners are expected
to start Luis Castillo. We hope
he turns things around enough
for the win.

No reason why however Cal Raleigh
was scratched from the game.
We should know more on Sunday.
Go M's.

Mariners Lose Friday Night

The Seattle Mariners lost to the
Royals in the opening game of
this three game series.

Final Royals 7 Mariners 6

Bryan Woo struggled in the first
inning giving up four runs and
then two runs in the sixth.
Julio Rodriguez had two two run
homers in the game. The last
one tied the game.

Besides Woo the Mariners faced
another lefty.  Still only one win.
Refsynder wasn't in the lineup.
He is day to day.

Matt Brash went on the injured
list. The Mariners brought up
lefty Josh Simpson from Tacoma.

Emerson Hancock will go Saturday.
Go M's.

Mariners #1 Pick Kade Anderson of 2025

So far the former LSU standout Kade Anderson the Mariners #1 pick in the
2025 is having a great start to his
rookie professional career this season.

The lefty is having a very good time
at double A Arkansas Travelers in
2026. He has started four games and
has pitched 18 innings. The Mariners
are easing him in after quite a busy
season last year.

There are those who are wondering
when he will move up to triple A
Tacoma or the big club. Kade is a lefty
so he is quite valuable if you know
what I mean.

In those four starts he has an era of
.48 which means he has only given
up one run and on top of that he has
30 strikeouts.  He has walked four
and give up nine hits.

His next start is on May 1 as he
has started his games on Fridays.
I expect that he will stay in
Arkansas for a bit longer unless
there is an injury to another
starting pitcher either in Tacoma
or Seattle.

Ryan Sloan the second top pitching
prospect is having a rough start in
his first season in double A. Ryan
is 20 years old and started his career
in the minors right out of high school.
Expecting some trouble is understandable.
The most important thing with Ryan is
staying healthy. Kade most likely be on the Mariners next season while Ryan be the
following year or later next year.

The question is who the Mariners will
do with the rotation in the off-season.
I expect someone will be traded.
Go M's.

Seahawks Rookie Camp

Friday on May Day the Seattle Seahawks
begin rookie camp for two days. They
have invited undrafted college free
agents besides the players they drafted.

After the mini camp we will see who they
will invite back as far as that group goes.
Four of the seven are on the defensive
side. Two are edge rushers. They want to improve at that position. They are Aidan
Hubbard from Northwestern and Marvin
Jones Jr. of Oklahoma.

The other two on defense are tackle
Uso Seumalo of Kansas State and
linebacker Devean Deal from TCU.
The Seahawks could be looking at
adding depth at tackle and linebacker
to add to improve the position.

On offense they signed tight end
Lance Mason from Wisconsin.
Teams going often with three tight
ends he could be an added free agent.
The other two offensive players are
wide receivers Michael Briscoe from
Cal Poly and Levi Wentz from Kansas
State. For these two it will be important
to be good on special teams. The best
chance to make the opening day roster.

These are the headliners besides the
players they drafted. In all 68 players
will be in mini camp. We wish them all
the best. Go Hawks.

Washington Huskies Spring Game Coming

May day evening.the Washington Huskies
will be playing their annual spring game
as practice come to an end. I am sure
they will see who they may have to acquire
to strengthen the team with depth at least.

Desmond Williams Jr. returns for his third
season and second as the the starter
although there was some controversy
during the off-season with the transfer portal. He entered the transfer portal after he said he would return. Denzel Boston his top receiver
decided to enter the NFL where he was picked
by the Cleveland Browns in the second round.

Now we will see who will be the top receiver
this season however Desmond will likely
have to count on possibly five.  Desmen Roebuck could be the leader as he plays in
the slot. With Desmond speed and getting
out of the pocket he can be a dangerous
receiver to stop. Last year as a freshman
Roebuck had 42 catches for 560 yards and
seven touchdowns. The Huskies hope to
see those numbers go up.

On the outside transfer  Christian Moss
and Rashid Williams should be the top
starting outside receivers. Moss has
been hurt so likely won't be in this spring game.Chris Lawson another freshman
last year who caught ten passes will see some action in the spring game.

Decker DeGraaf returns to be the starting
tight end. The third year as a junior. Last
year Decker had 32 catches for 360 yards
and two touchdowns. Being an experience
we should see even more catches from him.

The offensive line had several players
transfer however they are expected to
be a good unit. Center Landen Hatchett
has had some injuries though at spring
practice they have tried a few others
there to including his brother Geirean
who transferred back after a year at
Oklahoma. At this point he is slated to
start at right guard. Touted incoming
freshman five star left tackle will be
Kodi Greene. Next to him at left guard
will be sophomore John Mills. At right
tackle be Drew Azzopardi. The backups
will get some good playing time too.

Jordan Washington might be the starting
running back though slowed by injury.
If not him Jayden Limar a local kid who
transfered from Oregon. Seeing some
action will be incoming freshman Brian
Bonner Jr.

The defense will have some changes as
well as new guys. We will let you know
how the spring game goes. Go Dawgs!

Mariners Win Again

Wednesday afternoon the Seattle
beat the Minnesota Twins 5-3 and
winning the road trip 5 out of 6.
Quite amazing since the first road
trip they didn't do so.

It looks like we are seeing the team
we expected for the 2026 season.
The Mariners now come home to
begin the month of the May.

Cole Young who we weren't sure
of to begin the season is hitting
hit right now. He batted .500
on this road trip and he is hitting
well against lefties.  This really
helps that they are platooning in
right field and  dh. With Brendan
 Donovan being out they have
had to cover with Leo Rivas and
Will Wilson. Donovan is expected
to be back when the Mariners get
home.

Final Mariners 5  Twins 3

The game was tight most of the
game. JP Crawford hit a  solo
home run  in the third inning.
The Twins scored two runs
in the 4th.  Stayed that way until
the 7th. Cole Young hit a double
tie the game scoring Canzone.
The Twins scored a run in the
bottom of the 7th to lead by one.

Cole Young came up again
in the 9th.  George Arozarena
and Leo Rivas who pinch run
for Canzone Young  hit a single
to center scoring both. Munoz
came in to get the save.

In the 8th inning Matt Brash came
in and threw only two pitches.
He came out with a possible
injury. More will be known tomorrow.
Brash didn't think it was serious.
He did understand why he was taken
out.

George Kirby went five and two-thirds.
He left after walking his second batter.
Bazardo came in to get the final out.
He started the 7th getting one out.
Jose Ferrer came in to get the final
two outs. Gabe Speier came in
when Brash had to leave. He got
two outs then Cooper Criswell
came for the final out  score Munoz.

The Mariners end April being 16-16.
Bryan Woo will start Friday against
the Royals. We hope to see a better
game then what we saw in the last
game.  Go M's.

Mariners Even Series

The final was the Mariners winning
7 to 1. The game didn't look that
way for most of it.

Logan Gilbert pitched only five
innings. When he left the Mariners
were down one nothing. The M's
tied in the top of sixth with a run.
Added another run in the seventh.
They added three in the 8th on a
Josh Naylor home run.  Add two
more in the ninth.  Luis Garcia
who pitched  for the Twins in
the 9th was just called up.

The Mariners used four relievers
after Logan. Only gave up one hit
and no walks.  The Twins bullpen
gave up five runs.

Wednesday final of the series is
a day game.  George Kirby starts
for the Mariners.

The Mariners are now 15-16
and in second place a game and
a half behind the A's.

Washington State Cougars Men's Transfer Portal

The Washington State Cougars lost ten players to the transfer portal this off-
season which was all their primary
players.

At this time they have eight players
who signed with the team.  Of the ten
who left only six have signed elsewhere.
The Cougars best player Ace Glass
has found a new home at Vanderbilt.
We will see how he does there next
season. Not every team who loses
players have had success elsewhere.
Take the Washington Huskies many
if their past transfers have not got
ahead. A good reason stay where you
are at. Players who have had less
playtime then they  thought leave
to explore elsewhere. It doesn't
mean it will be a success. There have
bren some who have transferred
several times to.

Here is the eight who have come to
WSU already.

Sebastian Akins a point guard is
now transfered for the third straight
year. Last year he played at Wake
Forest. He played in 18 games
averaging  5.1 points and two
assists at 16 minutes per game.

Jaylen Harrell played one year
at Providence. He is a swingman.
Though a good shooter making 36
percent in 3s  his defense is what
will make his mark as a  Cougar.

RJ Jones a shooting guard  transferred
from TCU after being at Kansas State.
His first year at TCU he missed the full
season and last year only played in
right games. I am sure the Cougars
hope his injuries are behind him. He
was the third player to sign with the
Cougars.

Ronnie Harrison power forward
transfer from East Texas State.
This is his second transfer.
He was ETS leading scorer at
14.7 points a game and in rebounds
at 6.1 per game. He played in 30
games last season.

Fraser Foxburgh small forward
mentioned before was the first
player who transferred to WSU
from Manhattan.

Lazarek Houston a point guard
transfered from central Missouri.
He is known for his scoring
averaging 20.8 points last season.
He was in the top ten in the country
in shots made and in scoring.
Will be exciting to watch.

Jamari Phillips shooting guard
from the Oregon Ducks. He only
played in 17 games last year for
the Duck averaging 13.3 minutes
a game. He shoots 37 percent
from the 3 point line. If he doesn't
start for the Cougars he should
be good coming off the bench.
He shoots 80 percent from the
foul line and is athletic.

Ladji Dembele power forward
transfer from  UNLV. He played
very little last year. See what
he can contribute for the Cougars.

It looks like the Cougars have done
well so far in the transfer portal.
See if they have any more pickups.
Go Cougs

. Mariners Blown Out Monday Night

The Minnesota Twins had lost nine out
of ten games heading into this game.
Luis Castillo has been struggling in
recent outings so the Twins were
looking to turn it around for at least
one game. The weather was rain
going into it as well plus the Twins
were starting a lefty. The Mariners
are now 1-5 against them. The
Mariners need to make some changes
when facing lefties as well as what
they do with Luis Castillo who has
a career losing record on the road
although has a 47-40 at home.

The Mariners expect to have Bryce
Miller back soon as he is on rehab
assignment pitching three times.
Emerson Hancock has pitched
well. They would like to keep him
start pitching however where will
Bryce Miller fit in.  I don't see
sending either Hancock down.
I would like to see him in the
bullpen if he s me doesn't start for
the Mariners for now.  This game
was another where the end of the
bullpen didn't work.

Final Twins 11 Mariners  4

Luis Castillo went five innings
giving up 7 runs. The Mariners
didn't want to over use the
bullpen. Cole Wilcox got four
outs in relief of Castillo. He
gave up one run. Alex Hoppe
finished the game for the
Mariners however gave up
three runs. This was first
outing after the M's dfa
Casey Leguimina then trade
him to Tampa Bay.

We are not sure what the M's
will do but Hancock needs
to be on the team in some
way. By one outing we can't
judge what Hoppe may do.
Cole Wilcox may not be the
answer in the bullpen either
in the long run. The Mariners
do need another high leverage
reliever though.

Cal Raleigh had another home
run though didn't make a
difference  in this one. He has
now his 160th career home run
and is tied at number 7 with
Alvin Davis on the Mariners
all time list. We should see
him continue to go up. Where
he ends we will see.

Tuesday Logan Gilbert will
start followed by George Kirby.
The Mariners will be this coming
weekend. They will be honoring
the Big Unit Saturday by retiring
Randy Johnson number 51.
Last year it was Ichiro number 51.
Go Mariners!

Mariners Sweep The Cardinals

The Mariners finally came through on
this road trip after struggling mightly
before.

All three games were close however
Mariners found a way to win. This is
much like last season.

Sunday final Mariners 3 Cardinals 2.
Road trips are usually hard to sweep
as well as win the series.

Four runs were scored on solo
home runs.  St. Louis had a home run
in the bottom of the third then Cal
hit a home run to tie the game.

In the 6th Nathan church who hit
two home runs Saturday hit another
for the Cardinals.

Cole Young who has done quite
well hit a single driving in Connor
Joe from second. At some point
the Mariners may have to move
him up in the lineup. Joe played
first base today for Naylor.
Rob Refsynder hit a home run
in the 9th to win the game. He
pinch hit for Raley. Luke has
struggled as of late, whether
he would have if he hit a few
more time it is hard to tell.

Emerson Hancock was able to go
six innings for the Mariners though
he had plenty of  runners onboard.
Gabe Speier got two outs in the
7th with a walk. Bazardo got the
final out on one pitch and faces
three in the 8th. Jose Ferrer took
care of the 9th.

The Mariners are now 14-15 in
third place a game and a half
behind the A's.  The Angel are
three back and the Astros are
still struggling being four and
a half.

The Mariners now go to Minnesota
to take on Twins. They have a record
of 14-16. They have lost nine of
their last ten games so maybe the
Mariners caught them at the right
time . Go M's.

Day Three Of NFL Draft 2026

The Seattle Seahawks were busy on
Saturday acquiring several draft picks.
The first pick was acquired from the
 Cleveland Browns in Beau Stephens
a guard from Iowa in the fifth round.
The Seahawks are looking at adding
depth and competition for the right
guard spot.  Iowa had several players
drafted this year.

In round six the Seahawks selected
Emmanuel Henderson Jr. a wide
receiver from  Kansas who has a lot
of speed. Most likely he will see
most of his action on special teams
if he makes the team. He was acquired
in  a trade with the New York Jets.

In the seventh round the Seahawks
acquired three picks including the
first and in the round from the
Green Bay Packers. Both of these
are cornerbackd so be tough
competition. They are Andre Fuller
from Toledo and Michael Dansby
from Arizona. Sandwich between
them was a defensive tackle acquired
from the Jets picked in  Deven Eastern
from Minnesota. We wish them all
the best.

The Seahawks have signed already
three undrafted college players so
let you know who they are and others
with notable names on Sunday.

The draft pick of Stephens was for the
4th round pick in next draft. The Seahawks still have eleven picks for next year right
now.. The two picks in the 7th round
from the Packers was for the late sixth
round. The two picks acquired from
the Jets was for an earlier sixth round
pick. Go Hawks

The San Francisco 49ers drafted
two players from University of
Washington. Both players were
selected in the 4th round. Offensive
lineman Carvis Wills and cornerback
Ephesians Prysock.

In all the Washington Huskies had
seven players drafted. Edge rusher
Zach Durfee was the last one  in
the 7th round by Jacksonville.

The Washington State Cougars
Had only one player wide receiver
De'Zhaun Stribling  by the San
Francisco 49ers. He was the very
first pick of the second round.

Mariners Win Slugfest

Saturday afternoon we were not expecting
a slugfest with Bryan Woo on the mound
however that happens..We just hope
an injury hasn't happened.

The Mariners have Bryce Miller coming
back soon. We just hope this was just
an off day.. Woo was only able to go
three innigs and gave up seven runs.

Final Mariners 11 Cardinals 9

The .Mariners used four relievers.
Jose Ferrer went two innings giving
up two hits, one walk however not
a run. Cooper Criswell went two
innings as well but gave up three
runs. Mariners not doing too well
late in innings when bringing in
a reliever like this. I am not sure
why they would do this. Brash
and Munoz shut the door again.

The key hit was a single into
right center by Leo Rivas with
the bases loaded one out to
drive in the final two runs.

Will Wilson had a home run with
runner on base in the second inning.
It was on his first pitch in his first
at bat in the majors. Wilson started
at third base.  Rivas came in for
him after Canzone had pinch hit
and drove in a run two. The 9th
sot in the order drove in five runs.

Julio Rodriguez hit a home run in
the first inning with Cal on base
 Unfortunately the Cardinals tied
it with two home runs in the bottom
of first. Cole Young hsd three hits
including a home run. Every hitter
got at least one hit except Luke
Raley who pinch hit for Refsynder.
Connor Joe had a good hit to
late in the gym when he went
in for Raley.

We hope that the Mariners can
sweep the Cardinals on Sunday.
Emerson Hancock will go for the
Mariners.  Go M's

Washington Huskies Jonah
Coleman was drafted by the
Denver Broncos in the fourth
round at running back  The
Huskies had a few others
drafted too. We will let you
know they went as well. Go
Hawks

Mariners Win Opening On Road Trip and Seahawks Draft Picks

The Seattle Mariners beat the St. Louis
Cardinals Friday night. It ended  where
the Mariners had lost eight in a row
coming into this game

Final Mariners 3-2

The Mariners  had only four hits
however made the best of them.
Cole Young singled driving in
Randy Arozarena for the first
run in the second inning. Dominic
drove in Josh Naylor who had
walked. In the 6th inning hit a
home run to win.

George Kirby went six innings plus
giving up two runs after the two runs
they had run. This was the first loss
on the Cardinals in one run games.
Matt Brash came in the 7th and
gave up no hits. He is having a good
season so far.

Gabe Speier started the 8th giving up
two hits and one out. Bazardo came
and was able to get a grounder into
a double play. Munoz got the first
two outs then gave up a hit however
was able to strike out the batter.

Bryan Woo will start Saturday against
the Cardinals. We hope for more hits
in the game and at least one more run.

The Seahawks had one draft pick in
both the 2nd and 3rd rounds. The
Seahawks have only one more pick
in the sixth round. We will see if they
will trade up. Next year is supposed to
be better so they may not do anything.

Bud Clark from TCU  was in the second
round. He played safety in college but
we could see him at cornerback.

Julian Neal a cornerback was picked
in the 3rd round from Arkansas.
He only played there one season
after four years at Fresno State

Both could play at cornerback or
at nickel back.  General manager
John Schneider and his staff will
be sitting around a lot on Sunday.
They could move up or back.

The Seahawks have 12 picks in
2027. That draft is supposed
to be better however trading
several to get additional picks
this year would be good. They
have their own picks in each
round plus some compensary
picks for the free agents they
lost this year. They are expected
in the 4th and 5th rounds.
Go Hawks.

University of Washington Huskies
wife receiver Denzel Boston was
drafted in the second to the Cleveland
Browns. We wish him the best.

Seahawks Make Their Pick

The Seahawks winning the Super Bowl
meant they had the last pick in the
first round. There was the thought
they might trade down however they
set where they were.

The Seahawks wanted to draft the
replacement for Super Bowl MVP
Ken Walker..Not a big surprise
they decided not to resign him
since he has had injuries in the
time in Seattle.  The injury to
backup Zach Charbonnett may
have changed their minds but
the amount he signed with the
Kansas City Chiefs I am sure
why they didn't sign him. I guess
we will see.

The Seahawks drafted running
back Jadarian Price from Notre
Dame.   His teammate Jeremiyah
Love was drafted third overall
by the Arizona Cardinals. Love
was Notre Dame starting running
back and the best one in college
football.  This means that Price
will be healthier for playing
limited time. Price averaged 7.08
yards per carry. He has a lot of
speed so he will be a good change
up for anyone else who plays at
running back until Charbonnett
returns. Price will be different from
Charbonnett who has carried the
ball a lot when the Seahawks are
close to the goal line.

We will see him in Seattle soon
so it will be good to see him up
close.  The Seahawks will have
a mini camp for the draft picks
as well as any who are signed
as nondrafted  free agents .

Friday will be round two and
three. We see who they draft
or whether they make any trades
to add picks. The pick in the
second round as well as the third
will be the last pick of the round.
So they could move down.  A lot
will depend how other teams pick.
Go Hawks..

Mariners Wins Wednesday Afternoon

It wasn't easy however the Mariners
beat the A's 5-4 so they were able to
win without losing all three games.

Logan Gilbert was only able to go
four innings giving up three runs.
The bullpen did a good job not giving
up a run until Munoz gave up a
home run to tie in the top of the 9th.
Fortunately Josh Naylor drove in
the walk off hit in the bottom of the
9th.

Josh Naylor and Cal Raleigh each
had three hits. Cal had his third
home run in these three games
against the A's. JP, Julio and
Arozarena had two. Top of the
order did well.

The Mariners have Thursday off
then play the Cardinals in St. Louis
over the weekend.

A's Beat Mariners

Tuesday night the Seattle Mariners
lost to the A's 5-2.  The Mariners
who had been playing better at
home lost the second night in
a row to the A's. Wednesday
will be an afternoon game.
Logan Gilbert will start.

The Mariners continue to have
trouble when facing a lefty.
Rob Refsynder had his second
hit on the season as he struggles.
His hit though allowed the Mariners
to tie the game at one.

Jeff McNeil hit a home run in the
4th then Cal had his 4th home run
of the season to tie again 2-2
in the 5th.

Luis Castillo was only able to go
five innings however he was able
to keep the Mariners in the game.
The bullpen though surrendered
the three additional runs. Bazardo,
Speier and Wilcox each gave up
a run.

Cal was dh as Mitch Garver was
the catcher.  Mitch had a single
in his first at bat but forced at
second. Cal and Julio each had
two hits. Julio drove in the first
run.

Casey Leguimina who gave up
three runs on Monday was
designated for assignment.
Alex Hoppe was recalled from
Tacoma taking his spot.
Go M's.

Washington Huskies Now Have Three New Players

The Washington Huskies men's basketball
basketball team has two new player
since the last time I reported. They lost one
as well as we aren't surprised.

Freshman Hannes Steinbach who had
a great season for the Huskie declared
for the NBA. He will likely be a lottery
pick. Too bad the Sonics aren't back
on as of yet.  On professional level
the Seattle Storm have begun practices.
As far as the Storm goes Sue Bird is
part of the WNBA broadcast team.
I am sure you heard about her break-up.

Last week the Huskies signed former
Gonzaga forward Steele Venters to the
roster. On Monday announced that
Ryan Beasley a point guard who the
Huskies need signed  on too. Beasley
played three years at San Francisco
and last year was WCC all first team.
Last season he averaged  13.6 points
a game and four assets.

The Huskies have now eight scholarship
players. A team is allowed  15 players total.
Tuesday April 21 is the deline to declare
for the transfer portal though no deadline.

Most college teams start the season
mostly playing ten players however
when conference play starts in Dec
or January they go down to eight  or
nine who play regularly.  Wesley Yates III
is the primary regular player coming
back to the Huskies. He and Beasley
should tantem in the backcourt.

Nathan Sommerville who was a
transfer over last season did start
a few games last season averaged
4.5 points a game and 2.6 rebounds.
The Huskies are hoping for a big
improvement from him.

Nikola Dzepina from Serbia came over
to the Huskies in December played in
14 game  is listed at.  6'10. With potential
he could play a lot next season.

Jasir Rencher a freshman plan in only
eight games last year is listed as a
forward for the Huskies at 6'5.

Mady Traore is a power forward at 6'11
out of Paris France.  He played at New Mexico Sate and   Maryland. How much
playing time  at Washington we will see.

It will be interesting to see who the
Huskies will pick up over the next few
months. Whoever else the Huskies
will pickup will see where they land
as a team next season. Sprinkle fate
as the coach is in question too.
Ten teams in the  Big Ten made the
NCAA tournament and Michigan won
it all.  The Huskies need to be better
than at least one of those teams.
Go Dawgs.

Mariners Give A Game Away

Not the first time however the Mariners
gave Monday's game away losing to the
A's 6-4.

The Mariners scored two runs in the
first inning beginning with a home run
from Cal. Josh Naylor drove in Julio
to make it 2-0. In the second inning
Dominic Canzone hit a home run to
make it 3-0.

The Mariners had other opportunities.
Emerson Hancock pitched well until
the 4th inning when he gave up a home
run. In the 5th inning he gave up two
more home runs to tie the game.

The A's had three more runs in the
8th inning with a sacrifice fly and a
single. The Mariners made it interesting
in the 9th when Leo Rivas hit a double
to score Cole Young .

Luis Castillo will start Tuesday night.
We hope a better game. Go M's.

Mariners Against The A's

.Monday evening the Mariners start
a three game series against the
A's. Emerson Hancock will start game
one followed by Luis Castillo and Logan
Gilbert.

Hancock has started out well. Bryce
Miller is on rehab assignment with
the Tacoma Rainiers. His next start
will be his second one. How many
starts will he take before being
activated. Hancock right now looks
like he should still be in the rotation.
Luis Castillo who had a bad outing
last time could be out however
I am sure the Mariners won't do that.

Into May the Mariners could go to
a six man rotation which they did a
few years ago.  The Mariners have
three off days in May.  They have
15 home games and 13 road games.
Of course injuries will decide how
the Mariners will go. At home home
games five man rotation would fit
well while six on the road. A lot would
depend on who they face as well. If
the starters can go seven innings
six starters could go.

I could see Hancock go back to the pen.
He deserves to be on the roster no matter
how they go. Being the first one out of the
pen on some games is a good idea. At
this point he looks like a high leverage
pitcher. This would come down to how
many close games they play or not.

The A's and the Rangers are tied for first.
The Angels are third a half game back
and the Mariners are a game and a half.
The Astros are two behind the Mariners.

The Rangers play three against the
Pirates then next weekend against
the A's all at home. So things could
change by next Monday.

The Angels play the Blue Jays at home
followed by the Royal on the road.
The Astros who have a lot of injuries
start out with the Guardians followed
by the Yankees so this could continue
to be a hard time for them.

The A's top of the lineup has gotten
off well while the rest of the lineup
has not. The Mariners playing better
at home so far should have the
advantage.  These could be close
games too. We hope that Cal and
Naylor can get going. I have read
where some fans think that the
lineup should stay the same as far
as Cal and Naylor go. The Mariners
have to do something about the
righthanded lineup against lefties
along with when to pinch hit when
they bring in a lefty when the righty
is starting.

Raley is one of Mariners top hitters
right now. With Robles out I would
start him against lefties although
moving him down the order. I wouldn't
pinch hit for him against a lefty either
unless the Mariners have runners on
base especially late in games. Canzone
can be a different story. I was watching
the Phillies vs Braves game on Sunday
Night baseball. They asked Braves
manager Al Weiss about pinch hitting.
His answer matches what I think.
Only late in games. I am not sure
it is how Dan Wilson manages or
whether Jerry Dipoto has instructed
him. It would be nice if we knew for
sure. I hope we have a change in that
area. Go M's.

Update: Brendan Donovan went on the
Injured list to his groin. They brought
up third baseman Will Wlison. I guess
they are not looking at bringing up
Colt Emerson yet.

Mariners Win Sunday

The Seattle Mariners beat the Rangers
Sunday afternoon 5-2.

The Mariners won the series which is
good. Now they play the A'S for three
beginning on Monday.  Next weekend
they play the Cardinals in St. Louis
followed ending April playing the
Twins on the road.

Rob Refsynder led the Mariners off
with a home run. It was his first hit
this season too. In the second JP
Crawford hit a two run homer.
Randy Arozarena hit a two home run
to in the 5th.

Bryan Woo pitch well going seven
innings. He gave up two runs in
the seventh when he began to
getting tired.

Gabe Speier pitched the 8th followed
by Andre Munoz who got the save
in the 9th.

Arozarena along with Luke Raley
have been the top two hitters on
the season. Go M's

Mariners End Losing Streak

The Seattle Mariners beat the
Texas Rangers Saturday early
evening 7-3.

It started in the first inning. JP
Crawford led off with a double
and Julio drove him in with a
single. Brendan Donovan was
out and is day to day.

The score stayed the same until
the 4th when Canzone singled
driving in Raleigh and Arozarena
who have  been the two best
hitters so far.

George Kirby didn't pitch as
well as he did in two previous
starts though he recorded the win..

He gave up a home run the sixth.
Matt Brash came in and finished
the inning.  Luke Raley hit a home
run to increase the lead 4-1 in the
bottom of the sixth.

In the 8th Cole Young drove in
Raley and Canzone. Rivas hit
a sacrifice fly to score Young.
The bottom of the order has
done a bang job this season.

The Rangers score two runs
in the top of the 9th. Andre
Munoz came with two outs
and the bases loaded.
He shut down the door

Sunday afternoon Bryan Woo
will pitch for the Mariners.

Mariners Shut Out

The Mariners were able to beat the
Rangers four straight at home now
they have lost four straight.

Final Texas Rangers 5 Mariners 0

The Mariners had the bases loaded
in the first inning with one out but
couldn't bring in any runs.

Logan Gilbert went five innings plus
one out in the sixth giving up two
runs on seven hits. Not great out
but able to limit the run. The M's
were able to get to deGrom to go
only four innings with a lot of balls
thrown. They couldn't get to the
Rangers bullpen either. The M's
looked out of Sync.

The Mariners bullpen gave up three
runs so that didn't help either.
George Kirby will start Saturday
late afternoon as game is on Fox.
We hope they can get going.

Brendan Donovan had to leave the
game with a hip injury so right now
he is day to day however we will
see. Go M's.

Washington State Cougars Qbs and Wide Receivers

Kirby Moore is the Washington State
Cougars  new head coach. The Cougars
lost several players during the transfer
portal. They have competition at
quarterback and wife receiver spots.

Moore a former receiver himself
and the Cougars known for throwing
the ball things probably won't
changing a whole lot.  I am sure
there will be different looks.

Caden Pinnick a transfer from Cal
Davis is listed number one though
he might not be the starter when
things end up.  Owen Eshelman
and Julian Dugger are two other
candidates.

The Cougars  have competition at
the three wide receiver spots with
seven players.

Tony Freeman a senior and Daniel
Blood a senior transfer from Missouri
who had Moore as a coach are the
two candidates to be the slot receiver.

The two wideouts listed as first team
Darrius Clemons and  Tank Hawkins.
Clemons is a senior transfer from
Oregon State. He had injuries so not
participating in spring camp yet.
Hawkins is a transfer from Florida.
Backing up Clemons right now are
Branden Ganashamorthy and sophomore
Jordan Dees a transfer from West Georgia.

Hawkins backup is Ryan McKendry
a sophomore who transferred from
Los Mendos College in California.

Looking at tight end senior Jack
Pedersen a transfer from UCLA.

Next time we will look at the offensive
line. Go Cougs

Mariners Get Swept In San Diego

The Mariners are now 1-8 on the road
losing 5-2 to the Padres Thursday
night. Coming home they play the
Rangers in a three game series. It
will be important to take two out of three
games. Logan Gilbert will start on
Friday.

Luis Castillo struggled going five
and one-thirds innings. He gave up
all his four runs in the second inning.
He rided the ship not giving up a
run in the remaining time in the game.
Cole Wilcox came in and got the
final two outs.  He pitched the 7th
as well and gave up one run.

The Mariners scored their two runs
in the 6th inning with Cal hitting a
single driving in Cole Young and
Julio hitting a single to drive in
Donovan.

The 8th inning the Mariners had two
runners on base. Connor Joe who had
pinch hit for Luke Raley earlier had a
nice swing however was caught by the
left fielder. When he pinch hit earlier he
had struck out. Also Mitch Garver
pinch hit for Dominic Canzone.

This showed the Mariners didn't look
ahead since the 8th inning would
have  been good to have Raley at
the plate especially when he has
been hot.  Time to move on.
Go M's.

Washington Huskies Football Wide Receivers

The Washington Huskies currently
having spring practice.
 Looking at the wide receivers

Denzel Boston the Huskies top
receiver last year decided to go
the NFL. He might be drafted
near the end of the first round
or in the second round. Outside
of a very few wide receivers
don't go in the first round. All
comes down to the player and
whether a team needs a receiver.
It would be nice if he could be
with the Seahawks however
they aren't in need of one. I am
sure they would draft him if he
is the best player available.

Desmen Roebuck who had an
outstanding freshman season
last year could be the go to guy
this season. They went to him
quite a bit when Boston missed
a few games. He is listed in the
slot. Right now Kevin Greene Jr.
is his backup.

Christian Moss is projected to be
one of the side outs. He is transfer
from Kennesaw State and the other
is expected to be Rashid Williams
a redshirt junior who is in his 4th
year in the program. Last year he
played only in two games with five
catches for 54 yards.

Chris Lawson and Justice Williams
 expected to be backup however
they could find their way in for
more playing time. Lawson and Moss
have been slowed by injuries this
spring so incoming freshman Jordan
Clay is showing his stuff so he could
be the newcomer to get playing time.
With both Lawson and Moss out he
is getting valuable time with the first
unit.

Next time on Huskies football we will look
at the offensive line.

We will look  at how the WSU Cougars
are doing with a new coaching staff
and turnover of players. We will look
at their receiving core.

Another Loss By the Mariners
