Preview LA Chargers at Seattle Seahawks

It is still hard to think of the Chargers in
Los Angeles then in San Diego. At least
the original fans can drive there.

The Chargers have started off slow being
0-3. The Seahawks losing last week might
help not to lose this week.  Having no wind
it is hard to know how the players of the
Chargers feel whether down or having nothing
to lose except another game.

The Seahawks right now favored by a
touchdown to win. Ty Okada didn't
practice again with his hamstring injury.
At this point he will miss his 4th game.
Julian Love had limited practice however
he should play on Sunday. The same goes
with running back Jadarian Price along
with fellow rb George Holani.

The Chargers have seven players who
haven't practiced yet this week including
a few starters so they might not be at
full strength either.

Justin Herbert the Chargers quarterback
hasn't gotten off to a good start of as yet
and hopefully not for another week. He
has passed 627 total in the three weeks
with three touchdowns and four interceptions
so the Seahawks have a good chance to
pick him off. He is completing only 58 per
cent of his passes. The Chargers are converting
only 35 percent of their third downs. An
area the Seahawks can improve as they are
st 33.3 percent converting third downs.

Omario Hampton is the Chargers primary
running back he has 50 carries on the
season  for 193 at 3.9 yards per carry
and has the only two touchdowns on
the ground for them.

The Chargers have two wide receivers in
double figures for catches Ladd McConkey
with 12 for 183 yar weds and 1 touchdown.
Tre Harris has 10 catches for 149 yards
and no touchdowns. Tight end Oronde
Gadsden II has a touchdown  to in the air.

The Chargers 14 points each in the first
two games of the season and 16 in game
three. The gave up 26 points in the first
two games while 24 against the Buffalo
Bills this week. The Seahawks scored 31
points in the last two games including
the loss to Commanders. We will see
how this one goes.  Go Hawks!

News came out Friday that running back
Jadarian Price will not play on Sunday.
Most likely Emanuel Wilson will start
in his place.

Seattle Kraken Win Season Opener Easy

This will be Seattle Kraken sixth season in
the National Hockey League. They made
the playoffs in their second season 2022-
23 however have been a disappointment
since. They are on their third head coach
with him  in his second season. We are
hoping for a turnaround to at least make
the playoffs again.

The Kraken drafted 50 players in the.
NHL draft which includes this year's
draft. On their 23 man roster they have
seven who were drafted by the them.
Five of the seven were from the first
draft in 2021.  They have six players
which include Jordan Erberle and Jared
McCann who were in the expansion
draft who are still on the team.  So
that makes 10 of the 23 players who
were not drafted either way on the team.

The Kraken opened the season Thursday
evening beating the Calgary Flames on
their home court 6-1.  That is a dominance
for sure. We will have to wait how the
season will go however this a good start
for sure.

Jordan Erberle scored the first goal of
the season for the season. Vince Dunn
another expansion pick and original
Kraken scored the second goal 32
seconds later.  All six goals were made
by six different players. Jared McCann
had three assists on the night. Goaltender
Joey Daccord also an expansion draft
pick stopped 24 of 25 shots on the
evening.

The Kraken's next game will be Saturday
visiting the Edmonton Oilers. The home
opener will be on Sunday against the
Flames again. Next Tuesday the Kraken
be host to the Vegas Golden Knights.
In the first half of October the Kraken
will play eight games in total. Go Kraken.

Preview Fresno State at Washington State

The Cougars are going to look to
beat Fresno State at home Saturday
evening.  Expected to be a close
game as the Cougars are favored
at 2.5. So could come down to an
exciting 4th quarter.

This will be the first game in the
Pac-12 conference schedule so
be important to win . The Fresno
State Bulldogs average 28.2 points
a game while  the opponent 19
points.

The Bulldogs rush for 133.3 yards
a game while passing for 204 yards.
Fresno State quarterback is Jayden
Mandall who has completed 48 of
74 yards for 789 yards. Jayden has
only three touchdowns passing with
one interception. What helps the
Cougars the Bulldogs convert on
31.4 % of third downs.

Rashon Luke a senior is the starting
running back with 240 yards on 36
carries and one touchdown and
averaging 6.7 yards a carry. The
Cougars will have to slow him down.
Junior Bryson Donelson used in
short yardage has 37 carries for
193 yards with 4 touchdowns and
an average of 5.2 yards per carry.
Two impressive running backs.

Senior Josiah Freeman is the
primary possession receiver having
18 catches for 261 yards and two
touchdowns. Junior Ezekiel Avit
is the deep threat with eight catches
for 174 yards and two touchdowns.
Jahlil McLain is third receiver with
9 receptions for 98 yards and 1 td.

Cougars quarterback Caden Pinnick
has thrown completed 66 of 108
for 644 along with three touchdowns
and has four interceptions. He will
have to be careful with throwing
interceptions.  The Cougars are
completing shorter passes in average
over the Bulldogs. Pinnick leads the
Cougars running the ball 52 times
for 201 yards and four touchdowns.

Cougars junior running back Kirby
Vorhees has 36 carries for 210
yards and two touchdowns. Maxwell
Woods number two running back
has 28 carries for 173 yards however
has no touchdowns.

Senior Daniel Blood leads with 15
catches for 161 yards and Darrius
Clemons has 14 for 157 yards.
Neither one has a touchdown yet.
Brandon Ganashamoorthy is the
long threat with 9 for 145 yards
and two touchdowns. Jack Pedersen
tight end has 5 catches for 20 yards
and the only other touchdown.

We hope this to be an exciting game
in Pullman. The winner will have the
edge being the first game in the Pac-12
conference play. Go Cougs.
