Mariners Continue to roll.

For the second series in a row
the Mariners swept the opposing
team.

Final Seattle 3 Arizona 2

The Mariners had Bryce Miller starting
going five innings giving up  no one runs
on one hit. He walked one while striking
out six. Luis Castillo who piggy backed
went five games to as the game went
ten innings gave up one earned.

Cole Young hit a home run the second
inning. The Diamondbacks tied in the
in the top of the 6th inning on a wild
pitch. For the second game in a row
Dominic Canzone hit a home run in
the bottom of the sixth. The Diamond
backs tied it in the 8th on a sacrifice fly
bu Ketel Marte.  Victor Robles who
had pinch run for Canzone earlier hit
single to score Randy Arozarena for the
walk off.

The Mariners are now ahead of the
A's and the Texas Rangers by two and
a half games.  The Mariners play their
next three games at home against the
New York Mets who are struggling on
the season. They are thirteen and a half
games behind the Atlanta Braves in the
National League East. The Mariners will
have Emerson Hancock on the mound
on Monday. The Mariners are expected
to go to six-man rotation coming up.
Go M's.

Mariners Win Another Series

Saturday night the Seattle Mariners
beat the Arizona Diamondbacks
for the second game in a row.

The final was Mariners 5 Diamondbacks 1

The Seattle Mariners scored four of
the runs by solo home runs. Luke had the
first one in the 2nd inning his second
consecutive game in a row.  Dominic
Canzone had his in the second inning
too.

In the third inning Colt Emerson hit
a home run to right field. Julio had
a home run hit center field. This was
Julio's tenth home for May. The Mariners
final run was in the sixth inning in
sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by
Cole Young.

Interesting the Diamondbacks scored
their lone run in the ninth inning after
a pass ball. This week the third time
the Mariners won and gave up a single
in the 9th inning.

Bryan Woo pitched an awesome game.
He went seven innings giving up two
hits with no walks and  six strikeouts.
Woo didn't give up any hits until the
fifth inning. Woo was on cruise control
until the fifth.

Now the Mariners will see whether
they can sweep two series in a row.
The Mariners are going to the Peggy
back route once again. Bryce Miller
will start this time followed by Luis
Castillo. In June the Mariners begin
playing 18 games in 20 days. So this
sounds like a good idea for know.

Both Cal Raleigh and Brendan Donovan
would be eligible to come out of the
injured list but doesn't look like either
will be activated for a couple weeks.

Though the Mariners have played well
in the last five games in a row they
have had trouble winning games  until
now. Unless something really happens
they should win the division.  The Mariners
will likely be buyers before the trading
deadline. Adding another bat to play
the outfield is the likely scenario. Will
they trade a starter to accomplish it.
.
We will see Sunday whether the M's
can put Arizona out of the way.

Mariners Walkoff In 10th

The Mariners usually win easily
when they are leading 5-1 in the
sixth inning. It wasn't the case
Friday night.

George Kirby pitched well into
the sixth inning but got runners
on base. Arizona scored four
runs to tie. Matt Brash had his
first bad outing on the season.
Arizona bad s chance for more
but the Mariners got out of it.

In the bottom of the sixth the
Mariners took a lead with Luke
Raley  run. Up to that point JP
Crawford was the guy hitting
a lead off home run in the first
and a two run homer in the 5th.
It his first career game with two
home runs.

The Diamondbacks tied in the
9th off of Munoz who struggled
too.  The Mariners were able to
get out of the 10th without giving
up a run.  With Julio and Naylor
on the bases Arozarena who has
been hot lately hit a double  to
score Julio for the win.

Though it was enough runs by the
offense it was tough for  the pitching.
Winning the opener of the series
anyway will help the Mariners to
win the series.

Bryan Woo will start Saturday. Go M's.

Seahawks Sign First Round Pick

Friday the Seahawks signed Jadarian Price
to a four year contract at $16.8 million.
The first round pick and the last in the
in the round.

Price contract is fully guaranteed. He was
the last of the Seahawks draft picks to
be signed.  The amount is already set
on where the player is set in the draft.
The question is how it is paid.  Price
received a signing bonus included.

This week in ota Price and George Holani
each spent time with the first and second
units. Who exactly will start is not determined yet when the season starts.  The chances
are it will be Price.

Until he was hurt Zach Charbonnett shared
equal time playing with Kenneth Walker III.
This likely will happen with these two
as well when the season begins.

Price and Holani both will get about the
same amount of carries. Being a man
of speed Price will get some carries on
the outside. How productive the fullback
is he will get runs up the middle. Holani
will likely get carries when it is third and
short. The Seahawks new offensive coordinator came from the 49ers where
they used the fullback to run the ball some
to and the Seahawks will give them a few
carries as well. Price is good at receiving
so he will get a few catches. Holani might
if he is able too.

The Mariners haven't used the preseason
to use starters a lot however in  this instance
they will get at least some carries. We will see backups get some time as well. Whoever is
the third running back may get possibly five
carries a game depending on how healthy
these two stay.  Go Hawks.

Seahawks Make A Trade This Week

The Seahawks had a very good special teams last year which helped them to the win the
Super Bowl.

Most fans don't look at special teams
in that way however beating the 49ers
twice it certainly got them off to a good
starts. Not only did the defense cause
turnovers so did the special teams.
Block field goals and punts can do the job.

The Seahawks acquired Irvin Charles
a special teams specialist they acquired
from the New York Jets for a 2028 7th
round pick. It is interesting to send a
pick for two years from now and the last
round as well.

Depending on the Seahawks needs next
April they could made a trade with it. The
Seahawks have 11 picks next year so not
a dire need. With those amount of picks
they may look to move up in some rounds.

Charles is listed as a wide receiver but
it will be his special teams that they did
acquire. The Seahawks also resigned
Jake Bobo who is a special teams player.
Bobo again will be the strong of receivers.
Speed is an important part of special
teams.

Charles I never heard of but most special
team players I don't unless they are punt
or kick off returners.  They are usually
guys that are good receivers too.

We will see whether the Seahawks will
make any other moves or not.  Go Hawks.

College and NFL Schedules Change

The Washington Huskies announced the
opening game against the WSU Cougars
at Husky Stadium was changed to Sunday
September 6th.

The Seahawks opening the NFL season
against the Patriots on September 9 which
is a Wednesday.

High school games are on Thursday
and Friday.  Now the NFL has games
on Thursday.  The  NFL doesn't have
games on Saturday until the college
season isn't over.  Now conferences
like the Big Ten now have games on
Friday so all games are watched on
their network or national networks.
This all comes down to money and
Networks.

It looks  to me  that every day of the
week during football we will have
football games.  The Seahawks -
Patriots game might be the only
one this season but we could see
games on Tuesday which is the
only day left. More games put  on
live streaming which means more
money to. Fortunately all Seahawks
games are shown regionally. Not
likely with Huskies.

Sports fans now have to pay more
money to see games. Hopefully
things will work out.

Look at the Everett Acqua Sox

The Acqua Sox are the top Mariners
Single A team.  Like Mariners they
are one gave under five hundred
23-24. They have struggled lately
with a 3-7 record in their last ten games.
They are in third place In the Northwest
League.

As far as pitching goes they have only
one that is in the team's top 30 prospects
in Lucas Kelly a right handed reliever.
So far he is on rockie ground in his
second season of professional ball. He
was drafted  in the sixth round by the  Mariners in 2025. Lucas has struck almost two batters per inning in 12 games however
a walk an  inning as well. So wildest as
well as giving hits and an  era of 6.28.  The Mariners seen potential when drafting him however see if he can improve.

As far as position players go the one with
the best season for Everett is  Felinin
Celsten the number seven prospect at
shortstop. He was signed as an international
player. He had been hurt much of the last
two years however this been a very good
season for him. He recently was on a 25
game hitting streak coming three games
short of the Northwest League all-time
record and batting over .400.

Felinin is a switch hitter with power mostly
from the left side.  He won't be known for
hitting a lot of home runs however could hit
a lot of doubles. If Colt Emerson spends
his career at Seattle playing a lot of third
base Felinin could be his partner at shortstop.

Another prospect  is outfielder Jonney Formelo the sixth top prospect. Like
Felinin he has been hurt as well. He is
currently hitting .246 however has a
good on base percentage at .374. Only
has four home runs. His defense in the
outfield is good and he is a left handed
bat and was drafted 29 overall out of
high school in 2023. See how he matures.

Luke Stevenson catcher out of North
Carolina is a left handed hitting catcher
the 35th overall pick last season reminds
many in the Mariners organization like
another Cal Raleigh as far as catching and
hitting. He is the Mariners number 8
prospect. He currently is hitting.260 and
although only three home runs he does
have 13 doubles. He has a good on base
percentage of .429.

We will let you know how these top
prospects go and any others elsewhere.

Mariners Sweep and More

It has been a rough start to the Mariners
season facing left handed pitching.
The A's figured they could take the
series throwing two lefties against
the Mariners. Well it backfired.

Wednesday afternoon Mariners 9 A's 1

Rob Refsynder who has struggled so far
this season with an average around .100
many of us saying why is he still on the
team.

On Tuesday evening Refsynder had
a single that helped them to get
going. Now on Wednesday he hit a
three run homer in the first inning
to get the Mariners jumpstarted.
Refsynder is a ways to have a decent
batting average but he could get
going now. Figuring left handed
pitching could get the monkey off
their back.

The Mariners are now 28-29 and
now first place in the American
League West. The Mariners have
Thursday off before playing Arizona
and the New York Mets at home.
If they can win both series they
could have a bit of a lead against
rest of the division.

Colt Emerson hit a triple driving in
two runs in the 4th inning.  In the
sixth inning he ground into an out
but a run scored. In the 8th Julio
hit a three run homer and Emerson
had singled. Cole Young was part
of it too.  The future looks bright.

Logan Gilbert pitched well for the
third start in a row. He went six
innings  giving up five hits, two walks
and six strikeouts.  He continues
this way be good for the Mariners
too.  Go M's.

Mariner Beat the A's Again

The Mariners Tuesday evening best the
A's for the second straight time winning 4-1.

The A's decided to start a rookie left
handed pitcher since the Mariners are
not hitting well against them.

The Mariners scored three runs to take
the early lead in the second inning.
Mitch Garver hit a double scoring
Josh Naylor. Rob Refsynder who hasn't
hit very well on the season had a single
so went to third. He scored on a sacrifice
fly by Cole Young. Garver who made it
to third scored on a sacrifice fly by
JP Crawford too.

The Mariners scored their final run
in the 4th inning when Julio hit a
single scoring Victor Robles who
recently was activated from the injured
list.  Robles went three for three.
The Mariners face a lefty again tomorrow
afternoon so Robles should be in the
lineup again.

The A's scored their lone run on a
homer in the 9th inning.

Emerson Hancock continues to be
one of the  Mariners to starters
going six innings giving up one hit
and two walks. He was pitching a
no-hitter until the fifth inning.

The Mariners have a chance to sweep
the A's on Wednesday afternoon.
If they do so then they will be in
first place by a half game. Logan Gilbert
will start. Go M's.

Seahawks Open OTA

The Seahawks this week have ota
work out along with next week.
Most of the Seahawks are in camp.

The Seahawks offense will likely
look the same as last season
however under new offensive
coordinator Brian Fleury could
have some other wrinkles possibly
he learned with the 49ers.

Jardarian Price first round pick
will take over for Kenneth Walker III
while George Holani most likely for
Zach Charbonnett until he is ready
to participate late 2026.

The Seahawks lost free agents
on defense at cornerback, edge
rusher and safety too. The Seahawks
number two and three round picks
will have opportunity to put in a
lot of playing time at corner and
safety. Several two year players
who had injuries and missed some
of last season will look to make an impression too.

Both sides of the ball could be even
better than last year. The otas there
will be no contact drills either. They
will be walk threws. Go Hawks!

.Mariners Work On Consistency

The Mariners are now a game and a half
back after beating the A's on Monday
night. They win the series it will be a tight
race still.

Those who follow the Mariners regularly
know they are inconsistent. The broadcast
announcers tell us that as well. Monday's
game showed that most of the runs were
with homers. They did get two runs before
the home runs happened.

Randy Arozarena leads the Mariners bin doubles this season with 13. That is
another good option besides home runs.
Monday's game Randy hit a double
scoring Josh Naylor after he drove in
Colt Emerson.

Luke Raley who leads the Mariners with home runs with ten hit a two run followed by  Canzone with Young on base.

Being more consistent is hitting the ball
the other way especially with two strikes.
Colt Emerson who had four hits on Sunday
he looks for the fast ball. Everything else
will work otherwise.

The Mariners are ninth in walks in
the major leagues. The team batting
average is .228 which is ranked 28th
in the majors.   The Mariners average
4.14 runs per game while the pitching
the earned run average is 3.66.  In
theory the Mariners should have a
winning record.

The inconsistency has come where
they have scored three runs or less
in 27 of 54 games. They are 2-6 in
games where the opposing team
has scored three runs or less too.

There is no data on how many times
the Mariners haven't scored until at
least the 4th inning however they have
scored at least one run in 37 out of
54 games in the first three innings.

So lack of scoring runs has hurt the
Mariners. They don't need to be in the
upper level however improving the
rest of the season should help. Go M's.

Mariners Power To Win

Initially it looked like it was going
to be a low scoring game however
it didn't turn out that way.

 Final Mariners 9  A's 2

The Mariners waited until the third
inning to score  six runs. Josh Naylor
forced out Julio and Colt Emerson
scored then Randy Arozarena doubled
driving in Naylor.  Luke didn't take long
hitting a home run to add two more.
Cole Young hit a double followed by
Dominic Canzone. Suddenly it was 6-0.

The 4th inning inning  JP Crawford
.add it seven runs with a homer.
Luis Castillo who started only went
four innings as planned.  He gave up
two hits and two walks while striking
out six.

In the 8th inning the A's finally got
on board with a solo home run.
In the 9th Randy Arozarena hit
a home run with Josh Naylor on base.
The A's got their second run in the
9th  on a ground out. That was it.

So far Arozarena is having a very good
season. This is the last year of his
contract. The question is will the  Mariners
sign him to a multi-year contract before
the season is over or let him go in
free agency. Many think he will leave
but we will see. At this point the Mariners
don't behave anyone to take his spot
or they make a trade.

Tuesday the Mariners will have Emerson
Hancock on the mound.  The Mariners will
have Thursday off before facing the Arizona
Diamondbacks at home. The question is
will the Mariners piggy bank for the third
time next Sunday. Stay tuned!

A Look At the Arkansas Travelers

The Arkansas Travelers is the double
A team for the Seattle Mariners.
Currently they are playing their best
ball right now.

The Travelers have a record of 28-17.
They are on top of the Texas League
North division. They have gone 8-2
in their last ten games.

The most recognized name is the
Mariners number one pick last year
in Kade Anderson a lefty pitcher out
of LSU. This is his first professional
season and he starts every Friday.
We could see him in Seattle in
September depending how things
go.

In April he had only given up one run.
His first start so far was on May 15
when he gave up five runs. He rebounded
on May 22 by pitching a shut out.  Kade
has an era of 1.63 with a record of 3-0.

Ryan Sloan the Mariners number two
pick in 2024  out of high school is
struggling in his second season. Not
a big surprise after being in his first
season in double A. His era is 5.13.
In April he got off to a very rough start
and in May up and down. The likelihood
is he will pitch in double A again in
2027. Hope to see him in Seattle in
2028.

Lazaro Montes the Mariners top outfield
prospect has a low batting average at
.222 however has 11 home runs and 30
rbis. An international signing he is 21
years old. He strikes out just over 16
percent of the time which is good for
a power hitter. We hope even better
things the rest of the season. If he
makes the Mariners he will likely be
a dh and 4th outfielder depending who
is on the roster.

Hunter Fitz-Gerald is second with 10
home runs. He is in his second season
at Arkansas and is hitting .279. Hunter
is playing third base. He is 25 years old
so to make the majors he has to make his
move now. How the Mariners see him
at the major league level as a third baseman
is not known. The Mariners could use him
as part of a trade if another team feels
he ready to make the leap.

Michael Arroyo another top prospect is
only 21 years old. He is considered to
be a future top utility player as Cole
Young and Colt Young are  above him.
They have tried him some in left field
as well as the infield. Arroyo is hitting
.254 in his first full season in double A.
He currently has five home runs. Arroyo
in the majors might hit 15 home runs.

Next time on the minor league level
we will look at Everett the Mariners
top A team.

Mariners Continue Rough Ride

After beating the White Sox the Mariners
lost the last two games against the
Royals who have had trouble with
their offense though.

Final Royals 8 Mariners 6

Though it shows the Mariners
scored six it happened later in
the game.  The Mariners had a
home run by Julio Rodriguez
in the first inning. It actually
stayed that way until the Royal
scored four runs in the 5th
inning off of Woo.

The Royal got two hits of Woo in the fifth. Both  runners were able to move along
to second and third. They were
able to get Bobby Witt jr. on a pop
up first however the next runner
bunted with two strikes to move
those guys.

The next hitter they walked after
Witt they intentionally  walked after
having two balls.Salvador Perez
singled to drive in two runs. The
next batter drove  in Perez and the
other guy. My thought they should
have walked  Witt and at worse had
given up a run to tie. At that point
4-1 Royals. The Royals scored another
in the 6th.

Perez hit another hit in the 7th to
drive in another run.  This was after
the Mariners scored two runs with
singles by Colt Emerson and JP.
In the 8th the Royals scored two
more runs two make the difference.

Julio Rodriguez singled to drive in
Emerson then Naylor drove in Julio
and Arozarena hit a double to score
Baylor to make it at least interesting.
So we could say the early part of the
game cost the Mariners. Emerson
was 4 for 4. Raised his average to
.286.

Now the Mariners go the Sacramento
to take on the A's. This is an interesting
series to keep the Mariners in it.

At this point it looks like Mariners will
will start Luis Castillo on Monday with
Bryce Miller piggy backing on him.
losing Sunday's game is that a good
idea or not. I like where it is important
for the Mariners to win the first game
of a series. Stay tuned. We will see the
results whether the Mariners will keep
going with it.  Go M's.

Mariners Shut Out Saturday Afternoon

The series between the Mariners
and the Royals is even now.

Final Royals 5 Mariners 0

The Mariners offense has struggled
in this series with the only runs scored
in the series opener on a  two run
homer by Steve Garver. In that one
Logan Gilbert into six innings getting
two outs and the Mariners didn't give
up a run.

Saturday's game the Royals scored
three runs in the first inning making
enough to win. George Kirby went
six innings giving up nine hits. What
is common though he didn't give a
walk. He is one of the top pitchers
in the majors not giving up a lot of
walks. He surrendered all five runs
however only three earned. Kirby is
now 5-4 on the season. The Royals
we're aggressive on the bases too.
They have been struggling scoring
runs this season so they decided to
change things up.  Kirby only had
three strike outs in the game. Love
for him in that regard.

The Mariners have struggled against
left handed pitching however in this
one they faced a right hander. Stephen
Kolek went a complete game giving up
four hits to the Mariners. He walked
only one however had only two strike
outs. He started out in May where his
first two starts he gave up 8 runs
but in the last two games including
this one shutouts in both although
in last start he went six and one-third
innigs.

Luke Raley had three of the four hits
while Cole Young had the fourth hit.
Everyone else was shut out.

Bryan Woo will start Sunday for the
Mariners and face another right hander
Seth Lugo.  He has a 1-4 record with
bad luck with 3.68 earned run average.
Lugo has only given up two home runs
in his ten starts. The Mariners a home run
hitting team may have to turn that around
if they expect to win. Go M's.

Washington State Cougars Football For 2026

The Washington State  Cougars and
the Oregon State Beavers are the
only remaining schools in the new
Pac-12 Conference.  How both schools
do this coming season will give national
recognition or not.

Jimmy Rogers who was the Cougars
head coach moved on during the
off-season to Iowa State. The Cougars
lost 37 players to the transfer portal
with many going to Iowa State.  The
Cougars hired Missouri offensive
coordinator Kirby Moore who was
born and raised in Washington.

The Cougars have 28 players transferred
in to help replace those who left. The
Cougars have four starters who came in
the transfer portal along with four on
second string on offense. The big change
is on defense where eight starters on the
depth chart and seven second string at
this point.  The Cougars offense has
always had a better reputation than
the defense. With so much change on
the defense side will that show an
improvement. We will see won't we.

The head coaching change the Cougars
have only 14 incoming freshmen. At
this point none of them are listed  on
the first three strings. It will be interesting
to see how that effects them the next
few years. Of those 28 transfers in
only four on offense and four on defense
are starters so in another year the Cougars
mostly likely won't have to deal with as many
to come in. Of course it will depend on how
good the team is in 2026.  The Cougars
have seven in special teams with four as
regulars. Go Cougars.

Mariners Win Opening Game On Road Trip

The Seattle Mariners didn't have much
of am offense Friday evening in Kansas
City against the Royals.

Final Mariners 2 Royals 0

Mitch Garver was the hero for the
Mariners hitting a two run homer
in the 7th inning.  Garver hasn't
had a good season at the plate
but does not better on the road.
This was Garver's second home
run on the season. Both happened
in the last seven games. His batting
average is .177. Before Cal Raleigh
went on the injured list he was
hitting.260 on the road.  He hasn't
played a lot of games though fewer
when Cal was playing. He was playing
about once a week so not easy to
hit playing only so often.

He actually done well walking. He has
15 walks while only 11 hits. Garver
has struck out 24 times. His on base
percentage is .333 so he knows how
important to walk and let others drive
him home.  He has scored ten runs
which is good.

Not sure when Cal Raleigh will return
though he should be eligible to come
off the injured list soon.

The Mariners faced a lefty which the
team has had trouble with all season.
The Mariners Mariners use a platooning
system in right field and designated
hitter.  The right handed bats haven't
done well so far this season.

Victor Robles came off the injured list
and played several games at Tacoma
on rehab assignment.  He played right
field having two at bats without a hit.
Late in the game Luke Raley pinch hit
without a hit.

Rob Refsynder who the Mariners signed
as a  free agent during the off season
to face lefties struck all three times.
Dominic Canzone pinch hit late in
the game for him. So right field and
designated hitter they were zero for
seven.

The Mariners rested first baseman
Josh Naylor as well. I didn't really
understand this move when it was
the first game of the series and
road trip. Fortunately the pitching
along with Garver's home run gave
them the win. Patrick Wisdom who
recently activated from the injured
list played first base without a hit
either.

Logan Gilbert started and pitched
five and two thirds innings giving
up two hits while walking two and
striking out six. Much better than
his last outing where he gave up
seven runs in a Mariners loss.

Eduardo Bazardo came in with
runners on base and got the
last out with the grounder to
Colt Emerson who stepped on
third base.  He came back to
to pitch the 7th striking out
three batters.

Matt Brash pitched the 8th inning
which is often his custom. He
did have a little trouble giving up
two hits however got out of it.
Andre Munoz came in and took
care of the Royals.

Saturday afternoon George Kirby
will pitch for the Mariners. He
has had a good season overall.
He has a 5-3 record with an era
of 3. 45. In recent outings last
Sunday was his toughest giving
up six runs against the San Diego
Padres. He and Gilbert's outings.
was a major reason they were
swept at home to the Padres.

After this series the Mariners
go to Sacramento to take on
the A's.  The Mariners are two
games behind the A's right now.
If the Mariners can win this
series as well as against the
A's they could be in first place.

The Rangers are a half inning
ahead of the Mariners however
they are losing to the Angels
do stays that way them and the
Mariners are tied.  The Rangers
play the Astros four games this
coming Monday thru Thursday
at home. A good scenario would
be the two teams would split
the series.

Next weekend the Mariners be
back home to play the Arizona
Diamondbacks to finish the month
of May.  The Mariners start the
month of June playing three
games against the New York
Mets who have been struggling
so far this season. The Mariners
then will go on another road
trip. Go M's.

Look At the Tacoma Rainers

The Seattle Mariners have Thursday off
so decided to see how the Tacoma Rainers
have done.

The Rainers are in third place with 23-24
record on the season. In the last ten
games they are 6-4 which is a good sign
especially with the call up of Colt Emerson
on May 17.

Speaking of Colt Emerson he is playing
now at shortstop as JP Crawford has
missed a couple games with injury.
JP said that he is willing to play some
third base too. So we will see.

The Rainier's currently on the road playing
the Bees in Salt Lake City. On Wednesday
the Rainiers won 13-1.

Victor Robles on rehab assignment had
two hits while driving in a run.  Brennen
Davis who the Mariners signed as a
minor league free agent before spring
training is hitting is hitting .280. He
had three hits in the game. The Mariners
having trouble against lefties a lot of
fans are calling for him to be called up.
He has nine home runs so far on the
season.  This especially true how Rob
Refsynder is hitting very low 100s.
Most likely we will see Robles soon
possibly on this road trip.

Brock Rodden who is playing shortstop
drove in five runs in this game.  He is
hitting .267  with seven home runs.
If the Mariners need a utility player
he could be called up however Brendan Donovan will be the primary utility player
when he returns. He might play some
third base as well as giving Cole Young
a day off at second base along with
outfield and dh. We will see if he goes
on a rehab assignment before returning
to the Mariners. Go Rainiers.

On the Mariners next day off we will see
how the double A Arkansas Travelers are
doing. Last years top pick Kade Anderson
last week had his first hick up on the
season last week. He should be pitching
on Friday. We will look at fellow top prospect
pitcher Ryan Sloan too. Go Travelers.

Mariners Win Series

Wednesday afternoon the Mariners
beat the White Sox 5-4 to take the
series however they  made it hard
on themselves.

Arozarena scored three times including
a run in the second and fourth in which
the White Sox came back to tie both time.
Catcher Jhonny Pereds hit a  home run
the seventh and Arozarena hit a two run
shot as well which was a good thing
as the White Sox scored a run in the 8th
and 9th.

Emerson Hancock went five innings
go inh up the first two runs.  He ended
up walking three while striking out four.
Cooper Criswell who seems to be one
of the guys who comes out first in a
game. He gave up no runs. Matt Brash
made his return after being on the
injured list. No runs were scored on him
either.

Eduardo Bazardo pitched the 8th. He gave
up a run but not earned. Jose Ferrer pitched
the 9th.He gave up a home run to the first
batter be faced and then he struck the next
three. Ferrer seems to be the guy in the
9th if Munoz isn't available.

There is word that Gabe Speier may return
on Monday. He is making his first rehab
assignment on Wednesday evening.
Robert Ortiz was sent to Tacoma with
the activation of Brash. Not sure who the
guy will be when Speier is activated onto
the roster.

The Mariners will have Thursday off
and play Friday in Kansas City against
the Royals. Logan Gilbert should the nod.
Not sure yet whether Miller and Castillo
will piggy bank once again. Kirby and
Woo should take the mound on Saturday
and Sunday.  Miller was outspoken after
the game that he was taken out with two
outs in the 6th inning Tuesday.  Also
some media wondered whether Castillo
should have pitched in the 9th after
two innings.  We will see.

JP Crawford didn't play so Colt Emerson
did at shortstop.  In the 5th inning the
Mariners had the bases loaded with
no outs. A good opportunity to break
open the game. Arozarena and Naylor
each popped out. The Mariners did
what they usually did was bring in
Refsynder to pinch hit for Raley which
hasn't been much success on the
season grounded out. I wonder when
they will stop that.

Anyway we will check you later.
Any sports stories come out let you
know. Go M's.

Mariners Lose Late

The Seattle Mariners may have won
Tuesday night of they could have had
enough runs in the first inning.

Mariners scored a run in the first
inning when they loaded the bases.
Patrick Wisdom hit a ball deep short
and the White Sox were not able to
complete a double play. Julio Rodriguez
scored the lone  run.  The Mariners
didn't have another run or hit in the
game. They continued having trouble
against lefties.

Bryce Miller pitched well going five
and two-thirds innings. He only gave
up one hit, one walk and no runs.
Miller struck out seven too.

Jose Ferrer came in to get the
fine out striking out the batter
with tying run base.

Piggy backing Luis Castillo came
in struck out the side in the 7th.
In the 8th the White Sox first hitter
grounded to Naylor. Former Mariner
Jarred Kelenic had a single. The
final two batters flied and grounded
out. Though still things did look
going into the 9th. Castillo walked
and hit a batter. They brought in
Munoz who gave up a couple hits
but both runs went to Castillo.
In the bottom of the 9th the White
Sox struck out the side.

Another game where the Mariners
had good pitching but no run
support.

Wednesday afternoon Emerson
Hancock will start and see if the
Mariners can take the series.
Go M's.

Mariners End Losing Streak

After being swept by the Padres
the Mariners stepped up and
beat the Chicago White Sox 6-1.
The White Sox have been playing
pretty well lately so that was good
news.

It is always good to win the opening
of a series as well on Monday. The
Mariners started off well with Julio
hitting a home run in the first inning.
Randy Arozarena and Josh Naylor
continue their hot hitting driving
in the next two runs. Arozarena is
hitting .305 while Naylor got off to
a terrible start is now hitting .306.

Bryan Woo pitched well going six
innings shutting out the White Sox.
Eduardo Bazardo who has been
struggling some of late gave up
a home run. Jose Ferrer and Andre
Munoz each pitched an inning.

Bryce Miller will start Tuesday night
game with Luis Castillo expected
to come in at some point as they
are calling it piggy backing.

None of the teams are doing well
in the American League West so
the Mariners and Rangers are a
game behind the A's.

The Mariners were facing a lefty
so Refsynder and Connor Joe
both started again. Odd they
were batting fifth and sixth.
Neither got a hit so when will
the Mariners stop this unless
these two are replaced.  Go M's.

Mariners Make a Couple Moves

The Seattle Mariners made a couple
of moves Monday after being swept
at home by the Padres.  This does
make sense.

The Mariners activated infielder
Patrick Wisdom off the injured
list. He had been called up after
getting a good start at triple A
Tacoma. The Mariners can use
some pop against left handed
pitching. The Mariners brought
up Colt Emerson from Tacoma
on Sunday when Brendan Donovan
was put on the injured list. Leo
Rivas was sent down. He has been
struggling at the plate.

When Donovan is reactivated
whether ten days or longer
one of the bench players will
be sent down. Rob Refsynder
and Connor Joe have struggled
when facing lefties handed
pitching. Outfielder Victor Robles
is expected to finish rehab assignment
before the Mariners head out on
Thursday for the next road trip.
We should see one of the two
out.

The Mariners brought up left handed
reliever  Robinson Ortiz from Tacoma
and Domingo Gonzalez sent down
to the same place. Gonzalez just
pitched over the weekend for the
Mariners. They could use a second
lefty in the bullpen.

We hope for a win against the White
Sox Monday.

Another Loss By the Mariners

For the second game in a row the Mariners
lost to the Padres 7-4. It really wasn't that
close until the Mariners rallied in the 8th
inning.

Logan Gilbert struggled giving up three
home runs. The first home run was in the
second but the Mariners couldn't get
any runs themselves. The big inning for
the Padres was the 4th win they scored
four runs including a three run homer
the first of the season he gave up. Prior
to that Gilbert had given up solo home
runs.

The Mariners kept Logan in the game
until the seventh inning with two outs
he gave up a two run homer.  Outside
the three home runs be only gave up
one run.  I expect the Mariners wanted
to keep the bullpen fresh.

Manager Dan Wilson was rejected from
the game before Logan was taken out.
He argued when a Padre check swing
was not called a strike. Though it
didn't allow the Mariners to win I do
home that puts the players in a place
to win several games in a row. Go M's.

Seattle Mariners Shut Out

The Seattle Mariners were shut out
by the San Diego Padres Friday 2-0.

The Mariners continue nothing being
able to beat the Padres this season.
Hopefully they will turn it around
Saturday and Sunday.

The Mariners have shown they can
score a lot of runs however it has
been inconsistent. Cal Raleigh
though he hasn't hit well yet was
out in the injured list for ten days.
They still don't know how serious
Cal's injury is but they are hoping
the ten days will give him enough
time.

The Mariners will have him around
this weekend however he is expected
go go to Arizona for a few days as well.
He may work on his hitting if he can.
The question is how will they be without
him.

It took the Padres until the 4th inning
go score the first run on a double.
The second run was in the 7th inning
on a ground to Josh Naylor.

The .stoners had seven hits. Randy Arozarena had two which keeps him on a good pace
howe dr they couldn't take advantage of it.
Also Cole Young had two hits. Randy is now
hitting .301 and Cole is at .248 and has 24 rbis. If he keeps that rate he will drive in
a lot of runs.  In fact if he doesn't play in
all the Mariners games at this rate he will
have 88 rbis at the end of the season.

I know fans have to be confused still
as Connor Joe and Rob Refsynder both
pinched hit. Joe had a walk however
Refsynder went 0 for 2. No matter what
the data says how Raley and Canzone
hit against lefties right now it isn't working.
The Mariners should change things up for at least a short period.

The other three hits in the game were by
Brendan Donovan, Josh Naylor and Canzone.
This is another question if Canzone has a hit
already why not keep him the game.

Besides giving up the one run Emerson Hancock was able to go six innings. He
only walked one batter. Cooper Criswell
went an inning and gave up a run.  Jose
Ferrer and Alex Hoppe both went an
inning giving up no runs and giving the
Mariners.

Now we will see how they do on Saturday.
Go M's.

Seattle Seahawks 2026 Schedule

The  Seahawks have six prime time
games on this coming season.

The preseason will begin on August
15 against the Dallas Cowboys at
home. They play them again in week
13.  The other two preseason games
are on the road at Tennessee and
Kansas City.

Opening season begins on September
9 at home against New England who
they beat in the Super Bowl.

The NFC East and the AFC West are the
primary opponents outside their division
this year. In the NFC West they play the
49ers in October and the Sunday after
Thanksgiving. They don't play the Rams
until week 16 and 18. We will know how
important those games will be. The
Cardinals they play on the road in week
2 and week nine. They have their bye
in week 11 before playing the 49ers
right after Thanksgiving.

This might be a tough schedule however
durable. Go Hawks.

How 2025 former Mariners Are Doing Now

Ss we know the ones best known
Eugenio Suarez is with the Cincinnati
Reds who he played for before being
traded to the Mariners the first. Eugenio
though hurt right now and on injured list.
The same goes for Jorge Polanco with
the Mets.  Harry Ford traded to the
Nationals for Jose Ferrer is currently
at triple A and hasn't gotten off to a
good start like he had in Tacoma year.

The Mariners had 31 pitchers last
year so many that are not on the
roster this year we wouldn't remember
some of them.  The second Luis Castillo
is one to remember. After the Mariners
he went to the Orioles. He now is pitching
in Mexico.

Trent Thirton who had some success
in the Mariners bullpen before being
hurt last year and missing the rest of
the season. He was signed by the  Chicago Cubs after the Mariners didn't tender
him a contract. He has only pitched in
three games so far all in May and hasn't
given up a run yet.

Collin Snider who had a very good season
for the Mariners in 2024 where he began
coming in games early digressed in 2025
and sent to Tacoma is in the minor leagues
this year for the Chicago Cubs. I hope he
makes his way back to the majors.

Caleb Ferguson who the Mariners picked
up at the trading deline last year as a second
lefty to Gabe Speier signed with the Cincinnati Reds is currently on rehab assignment. They
hope hin to be a good lefty out of the bullpen
for them.

Gregory Santos who the Mariners acquired
before the 2024 season  however the two years he spent primarily on the injured list.
The Mariners were hoping him to match up with Matt Brash in the late innings which
now has gone to Eduardo Bazardo. He is
now in the San Francisco Giants organization.
He briefly was up this season. Hopefully
he can stay healthy and be the reliever
the Mariners thought he would be.

Tayler Saucedo who was with the Seattle
Mariners and was a local who grew up
being a Mariners fan had success with
the Mariners his first two years as a lefty
out of the bullpen. Last year he didn't
have the same success and spent time
in Tacoma. He was a fan favorite so
people will always remember him. He
signed a free agent contract with the
Angels during the off season.  He has
only pitched in one game for the Angels
so we see how he does  in the future.
We hope that some point we will see
him pitch against the Mariners.

Now look at the Seattle Mariners infield.
Dylan Moore  who spent just over six and
a half seasons with the Mariners primarily
as a utility player. Though his bat for the
Mariners for the most part wasn't great
his fielding and versatility playing every
infield and outfield. With the injuries the
Mariners had and not a lot of depth in
the outfield he was valuable in that way.
His second season he had his best season
hitting hose rr never lasted where he could
be an everyday player especially at second
base where he tried to be a starter. In
2024 he got an award with gold glove
as the utility player.  In 2025 he played
88 games for the Mariners before he was
released and played the rest of the season
with the Rangers.  He had a good start
hitting in 2025 his bat went silent after
hitting well the first month. His defense
wasn't as good either. This season he
began with the Phillies however he was
out on waivers after not getting any hits
on a team that is struggling in its self.
He is now in their triple A team after
going through waivers. We to hope he
finds his way back to the majors.

Ben Williamson who came up early
in the season as a rookie in 2025
played exceptional defense at third
base before the Mariners traded for
Eugenio Suarez at the trading deadline.
His offense wasn't as much as the M's
wanted as far as power goes.  In
January 2026 Ben was traded in the
three team swap to acquire Brendan
Donovan from the Cardinals.  Ben
went to Tampa Bay where he is playing
more second than third however still
playing good defense.  I am sure it
would be nice to have his defense at
third acquiring Donovan was  a good
thing. The Mariners number one prospect
Colt Emerson will likely be the Mariners
future third baseman though could be
at short depending the future of JP
Crawford who is in the final year of
his contract.  Donovan maybe the M's
super utility player in the long run.

Rowdy Tellez  was the left handed hitting
platoon in 2025 at first base and dh.
Injuries to Like Raley had him play more
at first base.  Rowdy had 11 home runs
for the Mariners but his batting average
was disappointing. After waivers he
played for the Rangers. Although his
batting average was higher his home
runs dropped off. He currently playing
for the Atlanta Braves triple A team.

Donovan Solano was the right handed
platoon startingsst season for the M's.
For several seasons the Mariners have had
trouble signing a right handed bat for
success.  This year Rob Refsynder has
been a disappointment. The Mariners
do hope he does turn things around.
This experience shows the Mariners
shouldn't go in this direction again.
Solano at this time isn't playing in the
major leagues.

Leody Taveras  who the  Mariners
acquired from the Texas Rangers
last season because of injuries
to Victor Robles and Luke Raley
played 28 games batting .198
before being sent to triple A Tacoma.
This year he is playing for the Orioles.
Though he has only two home runs
in 36 games he is hitting .248.

Those are some of the players who played time for the 2025 season.  Go M's.

Mariners Bounce Back

First of all  Cal Raleigh went on the
injured list.  Mitch Garver started
on Friday. He actually hit a home
with a runner on base. The score at
the became 5-1.

Final Mariners 8. Astros 3

Julio Rodriguez  had no hits on
the day however the rest of the
lineup made up for him. Julio
has had a good month hitting
so an off day is ok especially like
this.

Luke Raley started off hitting a
three run homer in the first inning
followed by Mitch Garver's. It
would be nice if the Mariners
could start Raley some games
against lefties. He might not hit
lefties well however he won't get
better if he doesn't face any.

Cole Young hit a double to bring
in the next two runs and JP Crawford
with the final run on a double too.
This tells me the Mariners don't have
always hit home runs to score.

Alvarez hit a home run in the third
inning for the Astros first run.
Before he was taken out in the
6th inning Luis Castillo gave up
two runs on a double that Alvarez
scored on again. Outside of that
Castillo pitched well. If he and
Miller peggy back on each other
should he start and Miller come
in. Being a long time starter
Castillo get the chance. I could see
him go five innings and Miller four.
It could be the other way around
depending on the game.

Emerson Hancock will start Friday
at home against the San Diego
Padres. Logan Gilbert will start
Saturday and George Kirby Sunday.
They take on the White Sox at home
Monday thru Wednesday. Go M's.

The Seahawks Defense Into 2026

The Seahawks lost three players from
the defense however done replacing
that hope to be be better.

All pro Devon Witherspoon is now
listed as the left cornerback instead
of nickelback. Depending on downs
he could be seen at linebacker as well.
The Seahawks will look that they won't
have to rush in  other players. Versatility
among players.

Nick Emmanawori who had a great
rookie season last year is now listed
at nickelback but will be seen other
positions as well.  Josh Jobe who
played a lot at safety last year is now
listed at right cornerback. Julian Neal
drafted third round is listed as his back
up.

Julian Love will start at strong safety
with Rodney Thomas his backup.
Ty Okada who started 11 games last year
will start at free safety. Second round
pick Bud Clark is listed as his backup.

Earnest Jones will again be the middle
linebacker. Patrick O'Connell will be his
backup. Uchenna Nwosu be the strong
side linebacker  and Derrick Hall his
backup.  Drake Thomas who had a good
season will be weakeside linebacker.
Tyrice Knight former starter will be his
backup.

On the defensive line at defensive end
will be Leonhard Williams. Mike Morris
moves to the outside to be his backup.
DeMarcus Lawrence will be on the
other side called Rushing position.
Dante Fowler Jr. recently signed is
listed as the backup.

Byron Murphy II will be the nose tackle
and Brandon Pili over from the Dolphins
will be his backup. Jarran Reed again will
be the defensive tackle with Rylie Mills
who played late last year out of Notre
Dame is listed as his backup. News is
that he could play some on the outside
too.

The Seahawks win the Super Bowl
again the defense will be a major reason.
Go Hawks!

Mariners Lose Wednesday Night

It took the Astros ten innings to
beat the Mariners 4-3. The Mariners
had runners on bases in the top of
the tenth but we're not able to score
a run so gave the Astros chance to
score only one run to win.

JP Crawford hit a home run to lead
of the game. Luke Raley hit a homer
in the second. The Astros scored
three runs before Julio Rodriguez
was able to tie the game in the top
of the 9th with two outs walking on
3-2 pitch.

Bryce Miller in his first major league
start of the season gave up two runs
in five and one - third innings.  The
Mariners used six relievers giving
up four hits only.  The Mariners
really lost for lack of hitting and
coaching.  Go M's.

Mariners Beat Struggling Astros Again

For the second game in a row the
Mariners beat the Astros on Tuesday
night 10-2.

The Mariners scored two runs on
a home run by Randy Arozarena in
the second inning. The Astros
bounced back with a run in the
bottom of the second and  third.

Dominic Canzone hit a grand slam
in the 4th inning his career first.
The Mariners added a run in the
5th and 7th plus two in the 9th
for good measure. Arozarena
went four for four and four runs.
Good news on the Cal Raleigh
side as he had two hits while
scoring three times.

Bryan Woo went six innings
before Alex Hoppe came in
for two innings. With the big
lead along with throwing over
a hundred pitches was enough
for Woo. Hoppe gave up no
hits and struck out two. He
seems  like the real thing.
Domingo Gonzalez who was
activated taking Jose Ferrer
spot while on paternity leave.
Most likely return when the
Mariners come home on Friday.

Bryce Miller is expected to
start Wednesday night against
the Astros for the first time of
the season. Not only should
Ferrer be reactivated on Friday
Matt Brash is expected to come
off the injured list. Go M's.

Look At Seahawks Tight Ends and Offensive Line

NFL teams are more going with
three tight ends on occasion.
How often we will see with the
Seahawks will find out.  It will
likely be done in short yardage.
AJ Barner will be the number
one tight end and be in mostly
on passing downs. He has shown
to be a good receiver.

The number two tight end right
now listed is  Eric Shaubert who
made some important catches
last year. Elijah Arroyo a rookie
last year as a second pick  missed
some time with injuries could be
number two though listed at
number three right now. These
three could give some surprises.

The offensive line will be interesting.
The left tackle and guard will likely
stay the same as far as the starters.
Charles Cross at left tackle while
last year's number one pick Grey
Zabel at left guard. This year's
fifth round pick Beau Stephens
is listed as his backup. The right
guard spot has shown some down
grade so we could see him on that
side as a starter or a backup as well.

At the right tackle will be former
Washington State Cougar  Abraham
Lucas. Last year he was healthy
unlike a couple bad years so that
is good news. Amari Kight is his
backup.  Anthony Bradford is the
current starter at right guard however
that spot could change. His backup
is Christian Haynes  who has been a disappointment and this is where
Beau Stephens comes in where he
could play right tackle.  Offensive
lineman can be interchangeable
however Cross, Zabel and Lucas
should stay the same. At some
point center could be Zabel's best
spot but that could be another
year or two.

.Mariners Win In Houston

The Seattle Mariners were able to
win Monday evening in Houston
in game one 3 to 1.

George Kirby looked good even though
he was only able to go five innings.
He gave up the one run in the fifth
inning. The four relievers did a
good job just giving up one hit.

The Mariners scored two runs in
the second inning with back to
back hits by Canzone and Cole
Young driving in Arozarena and
Luke Raley.  Julio hit a massive
home run in the third inning  for
the last run. He missed a home run
in the first inning as the ball just
went foul to left field.

 Cal Raleigh  continues to struggle
at the plate without getting a hit
however his swing did look good
though. We hope he gets out of it
on Tuesday.  Bryan Woo will
start Tuesday.  Go M's.

Seahawks Depth Chart Heading Into 2026

We are looking at the Seahawks offense
first here. Sam Arnold stays as the number
one quarterback. I expect if he has a
season lije  this last one he will get a
new extension. Drew Lock is number 2
at this point. Last year as a rookie Jalen
Milroe played sparingly and may do so
again. His legs are a strong point so we
could see him come in sometimes when
the Seahawks are in the red zone. He could be used in short downs to as a change up.

Zach Charbonnett and Ken Walker III
had about the same amount of carries
last season. While Zach won't be on the
team when the season begins number
one draft pick Jadarian Price most likely
will share time with free agent Emmanuel Wilson or George Holani who has always looked good in preseason games.  Both
likely to run much like Charbonnett.   According to head coach Mike MacDonald Price will work with every unit.

The Seahawks will likely go with a
fullback once again. Robbie Ouzts
is listed as the starting  fullback.
He was hurt some of last  year.
His important job is to block
for the running back however we
will see him run once in a while as
a change up. Brady Russell is listed
as his backup however could see
him some at tight end and especially
on special teams.

At wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba
will be the number one guy. Jake
Bobo is listed as his number two.
Rashid Shaheed who signed a big
contract as he became a free agent
will be on the other side. He likely
be the high playmaker as well as
punt returner.  Tory Horton is listed
as  Shaheed backup at both spots.
We could see him some on punt
returns to keep Shaheed healthy.
Don't be surprised to Shaheed do
some runs as well.

Cooper Kupp will be the third receiver.
We may see him make maybe three
catches a game however he is shown
as a good blocker and he is a coach
on the field too. Sixth round pick
Emmanuel Henderson Jr is listed
as his backup. See how that works
out.

Next time we will look at the tight
ends as well as the offensive line.
Go Hawks!

Mariners Give Up Another Game Sunday

The Seattle Mariners could have or
should have swept the White Sox
instead they lost 2-1.

Logan Gilbert pitched a fantastic
game giving up just one hi. Also
he had 16 straight outs to end his
time in the game after six innings.

The Mariners scored their one run
in the first inning when Randy Aroza-
rena drove in Julio.  In the seventh
inning Connor Joe hit a double then
JP moved him to third out on a ground
out.  Rob Refsynder pinch hitting for
Canzone struck out. Again this shows
me that using Refsynder in this situation
is not working.  Cole Young flied out.
The White Sox got their two runs in
the bottom of the 8th with a home run
and a sacrifice fly.

The White Sox had five hits while the
Mariners had seven. Now the Mariners
go play the Astros for four games.
We hope they play better.

Mariners Lose Saturday Evening

The Seattle Mariners continue to
have trouble hitting against lefties.
Also Luis Castillo still trouble
pitching as well.

Final White Sox 6 Mariners 1

Luis Castillo gave up a two run homer
in the first inning and another in the
third inning.  He lasted only four innings.

The only run was when Mitch Garver
walked then came home on a Refsynder
sacrifice fly.  Though he isn't hitting
well in limited action he continues
to be willing to walk.  We do hope
Refsynder starts to hit soon too. He
is playing sparingly as well however
as a veteran he should be used to it.

Leo Rivas was back at third base.
I expect right now the Mariners
are trying to use him against
righties.  We hope he is able
to play more often soon.

My thinking is the Mariners need
to pick up another right handed
back.

Bryce Miller is expected to start
on Wednesday. There looks like
the two might piggy back on
each other though not the first
round this coming week. Whether
Castillo will start and Bryce come
in after a few innings or possibly
the other way around. We will
find out. How it affects the other
starters we will see too.

The minor leaguers are pitching
once a week at this time. So
this could be normal in the future.
I like the old days when there were
four starters. The Mariners though
have had five solid starters so for
this team makes sense.

For minor leaguers they look so
injuries won't happen as often.
This is especially true for pitchers
who pitched in college where they
throw a lot of innings.

The Mariners will go to seven
relievers for the meantime. Not
sure however one will be sent
down to the minors if they have
options to do so.
Go M's.

Mariners Win Opening Game On Road Trip

The Seattle Mariners started out well
however let the White Sox back into the
game. Final Mariners 12  White Sox 8

Luke Raley was the player of the game
having his first grand slam of his career.
Unfortunately Emerson Hancock wasn't
able to keep the lead. Later Raley had
a three run homer. He was one run
short in tying for driving in the most
run in a game.

Josh Naylor had a great game to having
three hits and had a three run homer later
after Raley's. Arozarena had three hits
too. Julio had a home run too.

Luis Castillo should start on Saturday.
We see how he does whether to get
better. Go M's.

When Should The Mariners Make a Trade

We know the Seattle Mariners will
likely trade at the deadline however
should they before the deadline.

We know the Mariners are struggling
against left handed hitting. It is
interesting that Cole Young is the
best hitter against lefties this season
and he bats left-handed and he is
in his first full season.

Rob Refsynder has been a disappointment
so far in this season hitting .140. The
Mariners have had trouble with acquiring
right handed bats the last several years
to platoon or pinch hit. Refsynder has
had a poor history pinch so I have no
idea why they use him that way.

Connor Joe is the other right handed
bat at the moment. Victor Robles is
doing a rehab assignment right now.
Not sure when he will be back however
Joe will likely be sent down. Does this
mean that the Mariners should look to
make a trade for a right handed bat
that is hitting well right now.

Bryce Miller is about to return after
doing multiple rehab pitching. What
does that mean to the rotation. One
story I heard is that they will do back
to back. What does that mean. It
sounds like starting Luis Castillo
will start and go four or five innings
then Bryce Miller will come in. This
could mean for one game in every
five the bullpen will have a day off.
One reliever like Munoz or Jose Ferrer
could pitch the 9th inning depending
on the score.

Luis Castillo is currently the 5th
starter and how Emerson Hancock
has been pitching this is a good
idea. This maybe better than going
to a six man rotation. In either
case the Mariners will have seven
in the bullpen. Having this would
be better than going to a six man
rotation.

Even if the Mariners don't pick up
another right handed bat now June
or July will be a good time. All
comes down to their record. If
they can have a good record in
May then waiting until July might
be the best.

Brendan Donovan is expected back
Friday. This means they will go back
to two catchers likely and Rivas will
be the utility player which he can do
better. We hope for a good road trip.
The White Sox are doing better than
the last few years however are beatable
for the Mariners to win two out of three.
The Mariners should have a good time
in Houston as the Astros are still
having injury trouble so if the  M's
can take three out of four would be
good.  Go M's.

Washington Huskies Football Heading Into 2026

All depending on the poll the Washington Huskies are in the top 25 or just outside
of it.

The Huskies have a young team. They
have 25 freshman and 14 transfers.
Last year they had a good impact by
freshman so we will see how they do
in their second year.

Of the transfer the one with the most
to have an impact is running back
Jayden Limar. Whether he starts
or is number two should see good
action. Another is Christian Moss
wide receiver and he missed the spring
training. Until the season starts we
will look at other players who could
make a difference.

The Washington State Cougars had
to do a major overhaul when new
head coach Kirby Moore onboard.
They have 9 offensive and 17 defensive
players.

The Cougars are expected to be one of
the top teams in the new Pac-12 with
Oregon State and Boise State who
joins in. The Broncos have always been
a good team in the Mountain West.

The Cougars have always been a good team
throwing the ball and hope to continue
the history in that regard. It is getting the
running game going and having a good
defense. How the Cougars season goes
will have to come down to the defense.

The Cougars have three quarterbacks
competing for the job so we will see
who comes out the winner initially.

Both schools men's basketball lost
players in the transfer portal. The
Huskies have done well replacing
guys so we see how they do. The
Cougars will likely have more trouble
doing so. For one they will have to
compete with state rival Gonzaga
for players in the same conference
as well as the Huskies. Depending
on the players the Cougars are likely
number three.

We will see how all three go in basketball
as well as Huskies and Cougars in
football. Go teams.

Mariners Win Wednesday Afternoon

The Mariners were able to come back
after being swept by the KC Royals
over the last weekend. They beat the
Braves the best record in the major
leagues taking Eq2  first and last game
of the series.

Cal dh once  again drove in the first
run in the third inning while playing
into a double play. He didn't get a
hit at all. Is he still hurting that bad.
At least he gets a day off tomorrow.

Julio who has been hitting well of
late hit a home run in the 6th inning.
Bryan Woo came back after a couple
bad outings to shutout the Braves
over six innings.

Cooper Criswell did fine pitching the
seventh. Bazardo struggled in the 8th
giving up three hits however only gave
up one run to make it a close game.

Cole Young who leads the Mariners in
runs batted in had his 20th driving
Josh Naylor in with a double from
second in the 8th.

Jose Ferrer pitched the 9th in his
third outing straight against the
Braves.  He received the save.
He seems to be the guy the Mariners
can use if Munoz is rested. Ferrer
is the key lefty now while Speier is
on the injured list.

Final Mariners 3  Braves 1

The Mariners have Thursday off
then play the Chicago White Sox
Friday thru Sunday on the road.
Next week Monday thru Thursday
they play the Astros in Houston.

The  Mariners are now second place
a game a half behind the Athletics.
Go M's.

Mariners Lose By One

The Mariners seem to play a lot
of one run games so far this
season. They won .Monday night
however the Braves did so Tuesday.

George Kirby pitched well giving up
two runs in the 4th inning on a double.
He went seven innings. The Mariners
scored two before the Braves did in
bottom of the third. JP Crawford hit
another two run homer with Mitch
Garver on with a walk.

The game was tied until the 9th.
Matt Olson hit  a solo homer off
Andre Munoz.   The Mariners need
to find a way not allow their own
pitchers not to give up home runs.

The Mariners and Braves play
Wednesday afternoon to see who
takes  the series.  Bryan Woo will
see if he can rebound from his
last two starts and the hitting
gets going too.

The Mariners had Cal Raleigh back
being  dh. He went hitless though.
Go M's.

Seahawks Rookie Camp

Friday and Saturday the Seahawks had their
minicamp for rookies and othereho showed up.

First round pick  Jadarian Price showed
his speed in the drills. Also showed that
he can catch the ball coming out of the
back field.

Last year the fullbacks didn't get as much
action because of injuries. The Seahawks
new offensive coordinator came over from
the 49ers. They use full backs to so be
interesting to see how the Seahawks do
this coming season. When Zach Charbonnett
gets back the Seahawks could use him
and Price in the backfield at the same
time on occasion.

Bud Clark second pick and Julian Neal
third round pick both defensive backs
showed how good they are in coverage.

Beau Stephens the next pick is seen
to be important guy at guard. He
was seen both at right and left guard
in practice. Most likely not a starter
he will be valuable as a backup.

Sixth round pick wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson Jr showed his good speed.
Making the roster though will come down
to special teams.

Marvin Jones Jr.  edge rusher was the
most impressive of the undrafted free
agents with his speed.  He looks like he
maybe a keeper.

We will see how things go in the next
mini camp. Go Hawks.

Mariners End Skid

It wasn't easy to however the Mariners
ended their three game losing streak.
With injuries piling on top of that.

Final  Mariners 5   Braves  4

The Mariners really needed this win.
Again they were without  Cal Raleigh.
Not being specific he has soreness
on his right side. We see whether he
will be back on Tuesday or they put
him on the injured list.

Logan Gilbert  went six innings.
He gave up a home run leading.
off the game then did fine until
the sixth inning where he gave
up three home runs with the last
two back to back leading 4-0.
I wonder if Logan telegraphs
his pitches since most of his
runs always are give up on home
runs.

In the bottom of the sixth JR Ritchie
a rookie who happens to have been
born in Seattle and went to Bainbridge
High School. He walked Arozarena
and Canzone when Luke Raley hit
a three run homer which made it
promising.   The Braves lifted Ritchie
with no outs.  Mitch Garver walked
and after getting Leo Rivas out  JP
Crawford had a two run home run
to take the lead.

Jose Ferrer came in the seventh
recording  although he did give up
a single he started the eighth
getting one out. Eduardo Bazardo
got the final two outs  though he did
give up a hit. Munoz came in the 9th
and recorded the save.

Tuesday George Kirby will start
for the Mariners. The Mariners
before the game had to put reliever
Gabe Speier on the injured list
with inflammation to his left shoulder.
The Mariners activated lefty Jose
Suarez who they had claimed on
waivers from the Braves. Also they
brought back up lefty Josh Simpson
who they had just sent down without
seeing any action. Cole Wilcox was
sent down in that move. The Mariners
now have three lefties to cover while
Speier is out for now. Go M's.

Mariners Are Swept

The Mariners were swept by the Royals
losing 4-1. This was all after going 5-1
on the last road trip.

Luis Castillo gave up four runs in six innings.
The Mariners scored in the third inning
with Josh  Naylor on a force out.

Things went bad in the 4th inning when
the Royals loaded the bases before scoring
three runs. He gave up the final run in the 6th
inning.

The only plus was the Mariners were able
to get through the last three innings
without using high leverage relievers.
Now they take on the Atlanta Braves
beginning withogan Gilbert. It will
be nice if the Mariners will be able to
game at least two games. Not sure
yet when Cal will be back in the lineup.
Go M's.

Another Disappointing Loss

The Mariners lost again to the Royals
by one run 3-2. This reminds me
some of Randy Johnson losses
as a Mariner on a night they retired
his number 51.

Emerson Hancock pitched a great
game giving up one run in seven
innings. The story is greater he
struck out 14 batters and didn't
walk a batter.

The Mariners were leading 2-1
when Emerson left the game.
The Royals scored a run to
tie on an error by Julio that
doesn't happen often in the
9th. The Royals scored on
a sacrifice fly in the 10th
The Mariners couldn't match
it.

Now the Mariners are expected
to start Luis Castillo. We hope
he turns things around enough
for the win.

No reason why however Cal Raleigh
was scratched from the game.
We should know more on Sunday.
Go M's.

Mariners Lose Friday Night

The Seattle Mariners lost to the
Royals in the opening game of
this three game series.

Final Royals 7 Mariners 6

Bryan Woo struggled in the first
inning giving up four runs and
then two runs in the sixth.
Julio Rodriguez had two two run
homers in the game. The last
one tied the game.

Besides Woo the Mariners faced
another lefty.  Still only one win.
Refsynder wasn't in the lineup.
He is day to day.

Matt Brash went on the injured
list. The Mariners brought up
lefty Josh Simpson from Tacoma.

Emerson Hancock will go Saturday.
Go M's.

Mariners #1 Pick Kade Anderson of 2025

So far the former LSU standout Kade Anderson the Mariners #1 pick in the
2025 is having a great start to his
rookie professional career this season.

The lefty is having a very good time
at double A Arkansas Travelers in
2026. He has started four games and
has pitched 18 innings. The Mariners
are easing him in after quite a busy
season last year.

There are those who are wondering
when he will move up to triple A
Tacoma or the big club. Kade is a lefty
so he is quite valuable if you know
what I mean.

In those four starts he has an era of
.48 which means he has only given
up one run and on top of that he has
30 strikeouts.  He has walked four
and give up nine hits.

His next start is on May 1 as he
has started his games on Fridays.
I expect that he will stay in
Arkansas for a bit longer unless
there is an injury to another
starting pitcher either in Tacoma
or Seattle.

Ryan Sloan the second top pitching
prospect is having a rough start in
his first season in double A. Ryan
is 20 years old and started his career
in the minors right out of high school.
Expecting some trouble is understandable.
The most important thing with Ryan is
staying healthy. Kade most likely be on the Mariners next season while Ryan be the
following year or later next year.

The question is who the Mariners will
do with the rotation in the off-season.
I expect someone will be traded.
Go M's.
