Mariners in 11

It wasn't an easy day at the

office for the Seattle Mariners.
They were able to win in the
bottom of the 11th inning
10-9.

The Mariners scored first
on a two-run homer by Mitch
Haniger in the first. Marco
Gonzales had a rough third
inning giving up four runs
to the Rangers on three home
 runs. Haniger had another
home run to tie it to give Marco
more time. Personally, I would
have taken him out but he rides
the ship through the fifth.

The Mariners took the lead
on two home runs by Jarred
Kelenic who might be the
real thing now. The Mariners
though allowed the Rangers
back in with Sewald giving
up two runs and Munoz another.

The Mariners had to score with
the Rangers scoring a run in
the tenth and eleventh. JP
Crawford had the hit to win
the game with Dylan Moore
coming home from third.

Now the Mariners have the
magic number one to be in
the playoffs over the Orioles
losing again. The Rays lost
as well so the Mariners are
right now in the second wild
card spot.

The Mariners take on the
Oakland A's Friday night.
They could clinch a wild
card spot in the second inning
if the Orioles lose to the Yankees.
The Mariners just
need to win one game out
of the seven remaining games
or one loss by the Orioles.
I would say they are in.

The Mariners are in primarily
of their pitching and sometimes
timely hitting.
The 14-game winning streak
before the all-star break did
the job. The Mariners have
85 wins so will they make
90 or will we care. It would
be nice to finish the season
on a good note, and momentum. Go M's.

Down to Three

The Seattle Mariners evened
the series against the Texas
Rangers 3-1. The Orioles lost
so the magic number is now
three.

The combination of Mariners
wins and Orioles losses puts
Seattle in the playoffs for
the first time in a long time.
We hope a position they will
be in for a while.

The Mariners had timely hitting
especially from Eugenio Suarez
in his second game back from
injured list. George Kirby was
back to his pitching giving up
a run in six innings. The one run
happened in the first inning.
The Mariners rebound by scoring two runs in the bottom
of the first.

The Mariners scored their third
and final run in the third inning.
With the bases loaded and no
outs Carlos Santana hit a chopper just passed Perez the
Rangers pitcher and they had
to settled for getting Santana
at first. Of course the Mariners
couldn't find a way to get one
or two runs by a sacrifice fly
or a timely hit. Something they
need to work on in spring
training coming up.

After that Kirby was able to get
the Rangers with no help from
the home umpire calling balls
on obvious strikes.  Erik Swanson, Andre Munoz and
Paul Sewald each pitched an
inning without giving up a
hit. Been a formula that has
been working most of the
season. Love to see it in the
playoffs to.

Seahawks news it looks like
running back Travis Homer will
be out for a little while going
on the injured list. Primarily
a special teams specialist
Homer was hurt in the loss
to the Falcons.

How are the Seahawks fair
against the Lions Sunday in
Detroit. Will the win and even
their record 2-2 or lose making
it 1-3. The Seahawks should
have beaten the Falcons who
are rebuilding. Oh yes the
Seahawks doing the same
though Pete Carroll denies
it. Maybe next year. Lol

I know the 12th man is loyal
to the Seahawks but some
if not all should see what is
happening with Mariners.

The Seattle Kraken season
begins soon. To be honest
I haven't seen preseason yet.

Not Good Start To Homestand

The Seattle Mariners are not
making it easy for themselves
or fans as they are crawling
to the finish line.

The Mariners now have Suarez
back in the lineup Tuesday but
struck out three times. It would
be nice to have Julio in the
lineup since they function
better with him in it. They say
he will be ready to go when
he is eligible to come off the
injured list. The question though will his back happen
again. I guess we won't know
until he starts playing again.

The Mariners were shutout
by the Texas Rangers 5-0.
Robbie Ray pitched well
giving up only two runs in
five and two-thirds innings.
Doesn't help if the offense
can't score runs. Jerry Dipoto
will have to get more punch
in the lineup next season.
With the shift going away
except still able to use
against pull hitters the Mariners players may function better.
Offense should go up some.
The top pitchers will still be able to do what they have done.

The good news the Baltimore
Orioles lost to the Red Sox
13-9. The magic number is
now five for the Mariners to
get in the playoffs.

George Kirby who had his
worst outing in his last time
pitching goes on the mound
Wednesday night. Hope to
see him back to his old
self. The Mariners offense
needs to score runs though.
Thursday Marco Gonzales
will start. I hope to see his
old self instead of what we
have seen.

Since the Mariners haven't
been in the playoffs for so
long we have no idea even
though not playing good
teams to end the season.
Right now they are playing
down to their competition.
Go.M's.

Not a Good Day Sunday Sports

The Mariners had a good lead
on Sunday but ended up.blowing it with a loss to
the Royals 13-12. Not a good
road trip. The Mariners could
have made the playoffs already
or certainly close.

The offense certainly had a
good game. Been nice to save
some runs though. The bullpen
has been good most of the
season but not good time for
a lapse. The only good thing
the Orioles lost in extra innings.

The Seahawks lost to the Atlanta Falcons at home 27-23.

The Falcons are in rebuild mode no longer having Matt Ryan at quarterback traded to
Indianapolis Colts.  The Seahawks no rebuilding think
again. Lol

The Seahawks go to Detroit
to take on the Lions. The Seahawks lose that game
then rebuild is on the clock.
Will the Seahawks stick with Geno Smith if they continue
to lose whether the offense
is at fault or not. We see.

I thought this was supposed to be a run first offense however
Geno threw over 300 yards. The running game needs to go first.
I say because if the Seahawks
lead late in the game they
need to have success running
to keep running the clock. Passing a lot won't help
when needing to run out the
clock. Sounds logical to me.

At least not as bad as the Cougars losing to Oregon
after being ahead by 22 points.
How will this affect the Cougars the rest of the season
we will see.

Mariners Looks To Win Series

The Mariners look to win series over Royals Sunday. They are behind 2-1 in the bottom of 4th
inning.

The Mariners beat Royals
Saturday 6-5. Cal Raleigh hit
a home run to even the score than a double to put them ahead. The Mariners had
opportunities to put the
game away twice loading
the bases with no outs but
could bring any runs in.
Even after the double couldn't
score anymore. Had a chance with one out where the  ball
was hit to second base but
Jesse Winker could have scored going on contact.

Now the Mariners are down to
seven games to make the playoffs. After today they play
Three against the Texas Rangers starting on Tuesday followed by three to the Oakland and four to the Detroit
Tigers.Now the Mariners are
leading 3-2.

The Orioles are losing right
to Houston Astros 1-0. They
play Boston Red Sox followed
by the Yankees and Blue Jays
so won't be easy for them.
The Mariners should make the
playoffs for the first time since 1993 I believe. Go Ms

Mariners Sign Luis Castillo

The Seattle Mariners signed
Luis Castillo to a five year deal
for a $108 million. He and Robbie Ray be at the top of
the rotation. Have to say with
Logan Gilbert and George Kirby
to the rotation it will be an
excellent rotation for at least five years. Castillo has a six
year option to.

Next year the Mariners could add Emerson Hancock or Bryce Miller to the rotation. This means Gonzales and Flexen will be in the bullpen or traded. I would say only one will still be with the Mariners at most.

The Mariners should look to see whether Marco can pitch
out of the bullpen. I am sure
he still considers himself a
starter though has a losing
record. I think he can go three innings but not much more without the Mariners improve
on the offense. We see how
Dipoto approaches things.

Coming up Monday the Kraken
starts preseason number two.
We will see how much improved the Kraken will be.
Stay tuned.

Another Laps in Mariners Offense

Frustration in the Mariners
right now. They are playing
teams they should beat
but the offense for the most
part sucks and the pitching
not going well either.

I still don't know why they are
pitching Marco Gonzales right
now. I see Marco starting a
series so often which isn't a
good thing. Often he gives up
home runs but isn't doing that
right now.

Chris Flexen has an option for
next season. He should be
starting instead of pitching
late in the game when they
won't win unless the offense
has a spark.

Right now against teams they
should be beating nothing is
happening with the offense.
They can't score more than a
run or two for the most part.
They should have a clear way
into the playoffs instead of
wondering they won't  make it.
The good thing other teams in
the playoff race are playing
each other.

Julio Rodriguez was put on
the injured list for his back.
Another bad sign to. All
season the Mariners were
scoring at least three runs.
Can't do that right now.

Injuries going on and they
look like the team before
the 14 game winning streak.
Not sure they will make the
playoffs after all. I hope I am wrong.

The final Friday KC 5 Sea 1

We have to see what they
are made of without the
missing parts.

Mariners Changes Lead to Win

The Seattle Mariners made a
couple roster moves during
the A's series. It benefited
them winning 9-5.

The Mariners got off to a hot
start scoring three runs in the
first inning. Unfortunately George Kirby didn't have it
giving up the five runs in the
third inning. The Mariners
bullpen did their job along with the position players. Now the
Mariners can go into Kansas
City on a positive note.

The two reinforcements were
Jarred Kelenic and Luis Torrens. Kelenic had a big
day having a home run on his
first swing to get the game
closer and had a double later.
Kelenic scored and drove in
two runs.Torrens pinch hit for
Jesse Winker who was at dh.

It was nice to see Cal Raleigh
back in the lineup. Cal had a
double which led to a run.

Manager Scott Servais said
in his post conference it was
nice to see a more relaxed
Kelenic in the game. Julio Rodriguez had to leave the
game in the second inning
with the recurring issue of
his lower back. Hopefully
he will be back soon.

Kelenic moved to center with
Sam Haggerty coming into
the game and playing in left.
JP Crawford had the day off
and Dylan Moore at short.
Servais wanted to shake up
the lineup some.

Marco Gonzales starts Friday followed by Gilbert and Luis Castillo. I hope this means at least two victories.

Mariners Lack of Offense

Tuesday evening the Seattle
Mariners lost the opener to
the Oakland A's 4-1.

The Mariners had Julio Rodriguez back in center
field however the offense
struggled again after nine
runs Monday.

The Mariners had opportunities
to score early as Oakland starter Sears struggled on the
mound. They couldn't get a
key hit. The Mariners had a
runner on third and first with
no outs. Dylan Moore and
Abraham Toro couldn't produce
even a sacrifice out. Sears
trouble on the mound produced
two walks including Sam Haggerty's with the bases loaded to give the one run and
the lead for a few innings.

Luis Castillo pitched well early
on however gave up on one
mistake a three run homer.
This was after getting the
first two outs before two
singles before hanging a
pitch to Kemp. Let you
know Kemp has a career
batting average against the
Mariners at .279. Seems worse
since he gets key hits.

The Mariners need to win the
two remaining games of the
series. The magic number
was eleven wins to.make the
playoffs. Not sure still the
same since the Rays lost to
the Astros as well. Might be
ten games. Had the Mariners
won it would have been ten
or even nine. With a win and
a loss by at least one of the
other playoff contender the
number should go down by
two I think. The Mariners still good shot in making the playoffs but need to take care
of these teams they are playing. They have the easiest
schedule for the remaining
season which they take care
of but the offense needs to
do their job.

One thing for sure the Mariners
will need to add to the offense
during the off season. Julio
and Cal Raleigh who missed
the game for injury to one of
his fingers should be back
soon are the only sure position
players to return next season.
Eugenio Suarez out right now is almost a clear shot to return
next season. I would say Sam
Haggerty looks to return as a
utility player. Though he plays
good defense Dylan Moore
has for the second season to
be a bust at the plate. I would
look at picking up a utility
player with more offense. I
am sure there someone out there.

Abraham Toro has the opportunity with Suarez
out to do something but
hasn't so far and why he
had been demoted to
triple A. The second base
position should be where
the Mariners should look
at picking up a free agent
or trade at.

The Mariners could bring back
Adam Frazier but have him
in the role what Toro had. The
advantage with Frazier he can
play the outfield to.

More about that and more
when the season is over.

Logan Gilbert and Company

Logan Gilbert was able to
help the Mariners end
their losing streak to the
Angels. Fortunately the
Mariners were not swept
in Anaheim.

Logan went six innings striking
out eleven in the Mariners
9-1 win. The Mariners now
have 81 wins with 16 games
to go.

It was nice to see the offense
accomplish some production
in this series to. The Mariners
have been without Julio and
Cal Raleigh. Also Eugenio Suarez is on the injured list.
Haven't got any production
out of Abraham Toro playing
third base. Dylan Moore who
could play third has played
center field in Julio's place.
Julio has a sore back. Hopefully be back against
the A's.

Ty France and Carlos Santana
were the offense Monday
driving in the Mariners nine runs. Santana had a grandslam
and drove in five runs while
Ty had the other runs batted
in. It would be nice for them
to stay hot. Mitch Haniger
is back in lineup after a few
games to. Go M's.

Not A Good Day

Sunday was not a good day
for the Mariners or Seahawks.
The scores really all you need to know for the most part

Angels 5 Mariners 1
SF 49ers 27 Seahawks 7

The Mariners will need to salvage one game on Monday.
This series has come down
to no offense and lack of
pitching.

The Mariners have no Suarez
or Julio in the lineup. They
have been a major sourse
of their offense so not a big
surprise. The pitching which
has been good most of the
season hasn't been in two
out of the three games.
Only George Kirby has
pitched well which isn't a
surprised. He lost without
any offense support.

Marco Gonzales started the
game and went six plus innings. Gave up a run in
first and two more in the
third. I question having him
in the rotation especially
in a losing streak. Someone
pointed out you have to keep
the starters in a routine.
Makes sense so when the Mariners had those days off
a lot in August they should
have gone to a four man rotation.

The Seahawks game was
lack of offense and mistakes.
The Seahawks only score
was a blocked field goal
where cornerback Mike
Jackson picked it up and
ran 86 yards. Penalties cost
them on drives to.

The Seahawks defense did
fine against the red zone but
not the running game. The
Seahawks have to fix it to
have any chance in games.

Come to offense is it time
to change quarterback or
give Geno another game.
At least the Seahawks are
tied for first place. 😊😊

Huskies Win Big

The Washington Huskies
surprised everyone Saturday
evening beating Michigan State
39-28.

The game wasn't even that close as the Huskies had
22 unanswered points before
the Spartans scored in the
second quarter.

Michael Penix Jr threw over
300 yards. Neither team
ran the ball effectively. The biggest surprise since the
Huskies did well in the first
two games of the season.
The Spartans running game
was supposed  to be their
strength but had like 10 yards
on the ground in the first half.

The Spartans had to abandoned the running game
to have any chance in a win.

The 4th quarter Spartans had
two touchdowns while the
Huskies kicked a field goal though had a chance for
another TD.

This means the Huskies
should be in the top 25
this coming week. They take
on the Stanford Cardinal
next Saturday.

The Washington State Cougars
beat Colorado State 38-17.
Not a surprise since the Cougars were a 17 point favorite. Nice to know both
Huskies and Cougars are
3-0. It would be great if
the Apple Cup ends up
meaning a lot to both teams.

The Seahawks are on the road
Sunday afternoon against
the SF 49er. This will be a tough
one as the 49ers won't want
to go 0-2. Wish the Hawks
their best.

The Mariners lost a tough
game Saturday night 2-1
by the Angels. The Mariners
will need to win Sunday
afternoon to have a chance
to even the series on Monday.

Eugenio Suarez had to go on
injured list for hurting his
index finger. He believes not
too bad so we hope Suarez
returns after 10 days.

Dylan Moore was activated
taking Suarez spot. The
Mariners will miss the power
Suarez generates. He will be
on the bench to support his
teammates. Go M's.

Mariners Lose to Angels

Though the Angels are having a
poor season beating the Mariners
some they have done.
Angels 8 Mariners 7   Friday night

The Mariners have a record 8-6
against the Angels because of a
sweep in August in Anaheim.
The Angels didn't have Trout
in.that series. Trout had a home
in this game off of Robbie
Ray in the 5th inning.

Robbie Ray shutout Cleveland
on September 3 but gave up
four runs in his previous start
against Atlanta then five in
this one. Important for the
Mariners to have Ray get back
on track. Ray has three starts left
as the Mariners end the season
unless they hold him back depending
on the playoffs. He could start the
third game and only pitch a few
innings if the Mariners clinch a
spot. Right now he  would have
a scheduled start on September
27th against the Rangers after a
dayoff. They could pitch him on
the 25th a day earlier. This means
he could start the first game of the
playoffs or third game staying on
rotation depending the playoffs
start. In any case three starts left
in the season.

Eugenio Suarez hurt an index
finger Friday night and had to.leave the game. Not sure how bad
but likely not in Saturday's game
we will see.

George Kirby faces Ohtani Saturday
night. I don't think.it will faze Kirby
in the least which we hope for a
victory.

The Huskies take on Michigan State
so we hope for a 3-0 record after.
Go Dawgs.

Mariners Even Series

Wednesday afternoon the Mariners
beat the San Diego Padres 6-1.

Julio Rodriguez opened Mariners
half of the first inning hitting a
home run. It was his fourth of the
season tying Ichiro who did once.

Eugenio Suarez hit his 31st home run
two batters later with Ty France on
base. Carlos Santana hit a three run
homer in the fifth inning with Julio
and Ty on base.  Suarez is hitting
home runs at a good pass right now.
Carlos knows when to hit them to.

Luis Castillo went six innings which
has been accustomed for the Mariners
starters. Keep them ready for the playoffs.  He gave up four hits, no runs,
one walk and strike out nine.

The Mariners now go to Anaheim
to take on the Angels in four games.
Mike Trout is back playing for the Angels. The Angels are playing to
see if they can ruine things for the
Mariners. The Mariner go to Oakland
followed by the Royals in Kansas City.
The Mariners should continue adding
wins.

Tough Loss For Mariners

The Seattle Mariners lost 2-0
Tuesday night.

Good pitching my Logan Gilbert
giving up one run in five innings.
The only run came in the 4th
inning. He wasn't sharp as he
has been.

The Mariners were only able to
collect three hits. They are good
but the offense doesn't always
click. They had to go against
Du Darvish who is having a good
season now with a 14-7 record.
See what the Mariners can do
on Wednesday.

Tuesday, September 13, 2022

The Seahawks Win

The Seahawks did it winning Monday
night 17-16.

The Seahawks scored all 17 points
in the first half. They held off Russell
Wilson in the second half. The Broncos
should have scored a touchdown to
go ahead in the second half but the
Seahawks caused a fumble they recovered in the end zone.

Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson the
Seahawks two of three tight ends
caught the two touchdown passes
on the day.

Geno Smith was extremely good in
the first half completing 17 of 18
passes. If Geno can play a steady
game and the Seahawks make several
touchdowns may turn out to be a good
season.

The Seahawks will play the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday. The
Seahawks will see if they can win again. Right now they are in first
place as the other three teams in
the division all lost. Go Hawks!

The Mariners take on San Diego
in a two game series beginning
on Tuesday. It will be nice if the
Mariners can take both. We will
see what happens. They follow
playing the Angels. The Mariners
may clinch second place by the
time or during when playing the
Angels.

The Mariners should make the
playoffs with the schedule coming
up. The pitching should keep them
in most games.  Go M's.

Seahawks Have A Chance and Mariners Finish in 9th

The Seattle Seahawks will lead
the NFC West if they beat the
Denver Broncos on Monday night.

The Rams lost to Buffalo Thursday.
SF 49ers to Chicago Bears 19-10
and the Arizona Cardinals to
the Chiefs.

Regardless what happens the  Seahawks will be in the race after
week one. Shows the NFC West
isn't as strong as they thought.

The Mariners looked like they were going to lose Sunday's game to
Atlanta after having a 6-2 lead going
into the 9th. The Braves hit two home
runs to score five runs. Miracles do
happen they scored two runs in.the
bottom of the 9th. Diego Castillo gave
up a three run homer and Paul Sewald
a two run homer.

The Mariners make it into the playoffs
this game may do it. Julio Rodriguez hit a home run to lead off the game.
Eugenio Suarez hit a home run. In the 9th Julio tied the game with another
and Suarez the winning home run.
Julio now has 25 home runs and Suarez 30. Way to go guys when the
bullpen didn't have it.

The Mariners have Monday off then
faces the San Diego Padres  on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mariners Even Series

George Kirby might be the number
one pitcher on the staff. At least he
is pitching that way.

George went six innings giving up
an unearned run in the Mariners
3-1 victory. Had no walks and struck
out six. Can't say anything better.

The bullpen did their job again not
giving up a hit. Sam Haggerty has
a home run. He certainly has been a surprise.

WSU Cougars upset Wisconsin on
Saturday afternoon 17-13 and Huskies
blewout Portland State 52-6.

See if the Seahawks can make it
a clean sweep Monday Night.

Saturday, September 10, 2022

Mariners Opening Loss

The Seattle Mariners are playing
the Atlanta Braves at home this
weekend. They lost the first game
6-4.

Robbie Ray had a poor start giving
up two runs in the first followed by
one in the fourth and fifth innings.
This was the worst start for Ray
in some time as he was pitcher of
the month in August. Hopefully he
will get back to his pitching.

Carlos Santana was the hitting star
as he had two home runs on the day
counting for three of the Mariners
four runs. JP Crawford had a rare
home run too.

We hope the Mariners can win Saturday's game and go forward.
They take on San Diego after this
series beginning on Tuesday.
The schedule be easier starting
with the Angels.

Important the Mariners at least
play even or somewhat above
to asure a playoff spot.

The Washington Huskies have afternoon game in Seattle against
the Portland State Vikings. The
Huskies should win but take the
Vikings serious.

Seahawks Season Begins Monday

The Seahawks begin their season
on Monday night against the Denver
Broncos.

I am sure every 12th man has opinion
whether they win or lose. Whether it
is a blowout or not.

I hope the Seahawks play a descent
game. Winning would be the best but
not sure it will happen.

First of all the running game for the
Seahawks have to be good with an
occasion pass to keep Broncos defense in check. Geno Smith likely
be like Russell Wilson when he came
to town a game manager. Not too
many mistakes. Keep the Broncos
offense off the field as much as possible.

Seahawks defense is questionable
as well. At least tell it gets on the
field. The cornerbacks are my most
concern. This whether going with
the experience ones or the rookies.
The pass rush needs to be there to
some degree as well. I am sure
Russell Wilson will try to explode
the Seahawks defense. Long passes
against the corners. Have to watch
Russell from running as well especially
to get first downs. Do well in the red
zone. Better to give up field goals.
Go Hawks! Enjoy the game. 😊😊

Mariners Blow Game

The Mariners were beaten Wednesday
9-6 by the White Sox who took the series.

Luis Castillo had a good start striking out  the first seven batters he faced.
Leading 3-1 primarily on a Eugenio Suarez home run every thing looked
like another Mariners victory.

Didn't turn out the game would end
like many before. Castillo got hit in
the sixth inning where the Sox took
the lead 6-4. My thought Servais
should have taken Castillo out when
it was a 4-4.  There was tough luck
involved to.

The eighth inning the Sox scored
three more runs which had to do
with fielding errors. Mariners were
not able to recover again.

Suarez had a second homer to tie the
game  at six. He had his one thousandth hit of his career.

With Kyle Seager leaving after last season when the Mariners didn't take up his option Suarez  has been a good surprise with his glove as well as his hitting.

It would be nice to find another one like
Suarez during the off season. Jesse Winker has been somewhat of a disappointment. I have heard on social
media fans think Winker should be
used primarily at dh. Trouble the
Mariners have several others being
used at dh though he does at least
once a week.

Look toward next season will we
see Kyle Lewis back. We hope for a
healthy off-season. If so we could
see Lewis and Winker sharing left
field well as dh. Mitch Haniger
returns he will spend time on occasion
at dh as well. Having Winker and Lewis
three games each a week at dh then
Haniger in the seventh game. Lewis
healthy enough four in the field.
This could depend who will be an
additional outfielder. Think more
about in late October. Go M's.

Mariners End Winning Streak

The Mariners  streak came  to  an
end on Labor Day afternoon  after
a long day Sunday.  Not a big surprise.
You have to figure  the Chicago White
Sox are going to do their best since
they are fighting  to get into  the wild
card as well.

I  am  not  sure  I  would have started
Marco Gonzales  since it was the first
game of the series but I am  not  the
boss. Marco gave up three runs  early
including two  home runs. Marco went
seven innings.

Chicago 3 Seattle 2

The White Sox and Mariners  each
had a run in the second.  The White
Sox got the other two on a home run
in the third. The Mariners didn’t get
a hit for 19 straight  batters until
Julio had a hit but was left stranded.

The Mariners  got a run in the 9th
where Cal Raleigh got a double.
Eugenio Suarez  was walked. He
pinch hit for Trammell. Sam Haggerty
pinch run for Suarez.  JP Crawford
got a loop single  scoring Raleigh
but Haggerty  was given the stop
sign. Adam Frazier  pinch hit for
Toro and struck out to end the game.

If it were me I  would  have  sent Haggerty
home though he could have been  out.
Another thing is I am  not  a big fan  of
using two pinch hitters in an inning. How
many times have the Mariners been
successful  in  that manner  not many.
Though he hasn't  hit well and was sent
down Toro  has done good late in games.
Along with being  up at the plate already.

Mariners Seven Wins In a Row

The Mariners  game finally ended
after a long day  including a long rain
delay.

The game started while I  was  in  church.
The delay happened  after the third inning
while I  was grocery  shopping.  The Mariners
were  leading 3-1.

The game picked up in late  afternoon and
concluded around 8 pm pacific  time. The
Guardians were able  to  tie the game late
to go into  extra innings.  Neither  team scored
in the 10th  inning  though both had the bases
loaded with two outs.

In the 11th  inning  JP Crawford  drove in the
runner from second. So made it feel good.
Cal Raleigh  hit a home run to  make the final
score 6-3. Chris Flexen last of the  nine relievers
who all pitched in the game got all three Guardians
out.

The Mariners  now come home to  play  three
games against  the  Chicago  White Sox. I  am
sure they will  feel  good  to have  day  off  on
Thursday.  Loo, forward  to see the streak continue.

Mariners Game was Delayed

The Seattle Mariners game in
Cleveland was delayed after
playing three innings. Mariners
leading 2-1.

Thought the game would have to concluded on another day however after almost five hours they got
things going. The game is now
official now that they are in the
sixth inning with the Mariners leading
3-1.  So even if rain come again
they can call it quits at some point.
Let you know how it ends.

In college football Washington Huskies
beat Kent State on Saturday night
45-20.  What a great game for the
Huskies. Michael Penix Jr certainly
was the right choice. He felt comfortable the whole time played.
The offensive line was amazing. Didn't
have an offside penalty all night that
I recall. May have not called for
holding call either.

The offensive line didn't look this good
all last season. The defense hard to tell
at all. They give up some plays but
for the most part good. Special teams
looked like they need improvement.

The Cougars on the other hand had
to come back from a ten point defeceit. They beat Idaho 24-17.

Mariners Shutout Guardians

The Mariners continue pitching well
against the Cleveland Guardians.
They gave up no runs and scored
four runs themselves. Robbie Ray
continues the starting pitchers going
six innings. The Mariners got off
having one run in first inning with Ty France homer. Second inning scored
another. Two runs in fifth inning.
Nice to see Ty hitting well again.

Mariners had only seven hits and no player had no more than one. Outside
of France home run every one else had singles.

Mariners have been able to go with
three relievers once again. The Mariners have nine relievers including
Chris Flexen moved from starting
rotation.  Plenty of rest for bullpen.

Mariners Win Again

Friday the Mariners  won fifth
game in a row and fourth on
current  road trip.

Seattle  6 Cleveland  1

Luis Castillo  went  six innings
giving  up no runs. He may have
gone further  but no reason to do
so. In the top of the seventh inning
Cal Raleigh hit his second  homer
of the game with two runners on
base.  Cal  now has 21 home runs
on the  season.

As I thought  Cal Raleigh showed have
been the starter  at catcher  from the
beginning  of  the  season.  When the
season  started the  Mariners  were
alternating between Raleigh,  Tom Murphy,
and Luis  Torrens. Only catching every
three games  for Raleigh obviously hurt him.
He was sent down  to triple-A Tacoma but
only lasted a  few days  because  Murphy
was hurt which turned out  was for the season.
Torrens  had trouble  at the plate and   not as
good  defensively as Cal. Torrens was sent down
to Tacoma himself  in August.  Now  Cal is
and future  starting catcher for the M's.

Seahawks by position

The Seahawks roster may change
still more before opening night on
September 12.

We begin with Geno Smith and Drew Lock at quarterback. Want to know
how long that last.

They are going with four running
backs Rashaad Penny leading the
way. At wide receiver there are six
led by Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.
The question will they be able to
catch long passes or stick to short
or medium ones.

They are going with three tight ends.
Sure they will carry one in the practice squad. Nine offensive line. This means
four backups with someone or more
at multiple positions.

On defense they listed eight originally
however LJ Collier begins on injured
list on the line. Linebacker shows eight. At least two are edge rushers
previously known as defensive ends.

At this point going with seven cornerbacks as Justin Coleman was
added back on to play nickel back.
At safety they have five on roster.
At times they may have three safeties
going since Jamal Adams will move
around. Punter, kicker and long snapper stay the same

Any other moves and more about each
position we let you know. Go Hawks!

Mariners Sweep Tigers

The Mariners did what they hope
for by sweeping Detroit. Another
easy game winning 7-0 behind Logan
Gilbert six innings and two hits.
I am sure they could have left him
in but want to keep his innings down.

The Mariners had Matt Boyd pitch
the eighth inning after being activated
when rosters expanded Thursday.
Taylor Trammel started in right field
after being activated to. We will see
some of him through September either
starting or coming late in games.

Boyd is used to being a starter but
will be coming out of the bullpen.
He is the only lefty in relief. May go
a couple innings if necessary.  Trammel likely start against righties
like he was when he was up earlier.
This will allow Haniger rest on.occasion though will dh when
not in right field. Now the question
what does Jarred Kelenic future as
a Mariner look like.

Speaking of future Jesse Winker has
contract through 2023. Will he stick
around or not. Are the Mariners going to extend him or not. The only thing
we know Julio Rodriguez will be
around in the outfield. Right and left
is questioned. You have to figure Trammel or Kelenic will be the fourth
outfielder in 2023. If Winker or Haniger
are gone one will start though the
Mariners could bring someone else.
Though the season is five weeks before playoffs which Mariners should
make we can do some speculation
on next season. Stay tuned!

If you haven't heard Russell Wilson
signed an extension with Denver.
A five year deal for $245 million
with $165 guaranteed. If you haven't
figured the guarantee is $33 million.
A good reason the Seahawks traded
him.

Seahawks added Justin Coleman
back to the roster. LJ Collier added
to injured list. Be out for at least four
games. Other players added to.practice squad. We will see if any of them will
play this season.

Seven Seahawks draft players made
the roster plus two undrafted rookies
made it to. Let you know who.they
are at the right time.

Nice college football starts this weekend for the Huskies and Cougars.
Let you know those games go. Look
forward to victories for both teams.

Mariners Take Second Game

It is nice to see the Mariners
took the second game of the
series Wednesday night 5-3.

The game was closer than Tuesday's
game. Marco Gonzales got off to
a rough start but got things back
on track.

The Mariners scored first with
Eugenio Suarez hitting a two run
homer than the Tigers tied it in
the second. Marco gave up a run
in the sixth his last inning however
Abraham Toro hit a two run homer
in the seventh to give Marco the
win. The Mariners got another
run in the ninth.

Andre Munoz, Erik Swanson and
Paul Sewald gave up one hit total
the last three innings to guarantee
the series win.

The Mariners take on Tigers in
the final in afternoon game. Here
will start in the morning.

The Seahawks made some moves
Wednesday. Let you know later
about the moves and more.
