9-6 by the White Sox who took the series.
Luis Castillo had a good start striking out the first seven batters he faced.
Leading 3-1 primarily on a Eugenio Suarez home run every thing looked
like another Mariners victory.
Didn't turn out the game would end
like many before. Castillo got hit in
the sixth inning where the Sox took
the lead 6-4. My thought Servais
should have taken Castillo out when
it was a 4-4. There was tough luck
involved to.
The eighth inning the Sox scored
three more runs which had to do
with fielding errors. Mariners were
not able to recover again.
Suarez had a second homer to tie the
game at six. He had his one thousandth hit of his career.
With Kyle Seager leaving after last season when the Mariners didn't take up his option Suarez has been a good surprise with his glove as well as his hitting.
It would be nice to find another one like
Suarez during the off season. Jesse Winker has been somewhat of a disappointment. I have heard on social
media fans think Winker should be
used primarily at dh. Trouble the
Mariners have several others being
used at dh though he does at least
once a week.
Look toward next season will we
see Kyle Lewis back. We hope for a
healthy off-season. If so we could
see Lewis and Winker sharing left
field well as dh. Mitch Haniger
returns he will spend time on occasion
at dh as well. Having Winker and Lewis
three games each a week at dh then
Haniger in the seventh game. Lewis
healthy enough four in the field.
This could depend who will be an
additional outfielder. Think more
about in late October. Go M's.
