Cougars to win Saturday afternoon in Pacedena.
Takeaways
Final was 25-17 UCLA
The cougars had a one point lead at half
time then led 17-12 at the end of the third
quarter. The Bruins score two touchdowns
in the fourth quarter to take the win.
The Cougars were lucky if you call it that
at half time as their defender Kapena
Gushiken intercepted a pass and went
the distances 88 yards for TD. Gushiken
had a fantastic first half..Had he not
intercepted the Bruins would have had
a touchdown or field goal.to end the half.
The Bruins threw for 290 yards and 190 rushing yards. The Cougars threw for
204 yards however no yards really on the
ground. Total was 12 yards.
Time of possession wasn't good either.
The Cougars had the ball for just over 21 minutes and Bruins had it over 38 minutes.
For a team to win you must have the ball
around 30 minutes to have a chance unless
you cause several turnovers or strike fast.
Ward didn't have a good day having two
interceptions with one touchdown.
Next week the Cougars are home
against Arizona. Go Cougars.
News came out Saturday the Huskies
have new athletic director named Troy
Dannen. He comes to Washington
from Tulane. Though DeBoer will
stay as football coach we could see
a change at men's basketball coach
after this season coming up depending
how Hopkins and the Huskies do. The
season begins in November. Go Dawgs!
