as they are on the road to play
New Mexico Lobos who are 4-6.
It isn't easy to be favorites on
the road no matter how good
you are.
The Cougars are 8-1 with the
only blemish losing to Boise
State. Early on in the Cougars
did have close calls. The
team is looking to see if they
can make it to the National
Championship series which
is amazing since the conference
they were playing in no longer
is in the form it had been with
ten teams leaving and the are
playing a non conference schedule.
The Lobos beat San Diego State in
their last outing 21-16. Quarterback
Quarterback Devon Dampier had 16
catches caught out of 24 throws for
175 yards, one touchdown and no
interceptions. Like Cougar Mateer
he is a dual quarterback running for
127 yards on 17 carries. Both teams
will have to look at qb in more than
one function.
Eli Sanders had 16 carries for the
Lobos and had 173 yards with
two touchdowns. Ryan Davis
caught five balls for 47 yards and
one touchdown. This could be
a high scoring affair. The Cougars
can't take the Lobos foregranted
and this will be a big letdown
if they lose. The Cougars have
two games remaining after
this one and be in double digits
in wins. They can be one of the
big teams in college football
in 2024. Go Cougs!
