This is something that I may decide to do once a week on a Friday
here on my blog. A recap what has happened beside what I write on a daily
basis.
The Seattle Mariners continue with their road trip in Kansas
City. After losing their first game 6-4 on Thursday night James Paxton goes to
the mound on Friday. He needs to continue his win streak of six games in July.
If the Mariners have any chance he still has to pitch at his high level. On
Saturday Felix Hernandez goes for the Mariners followed Erasmo Martinez on
Sunday. I heard that there could be rain on Saturday so they may play a
doubleheader on Sunday instead. The Mariners have a day off on Monday and then
play two games at Oakland before returning home for the only time in August.
Most likely Ariel Miranda and Yovani Gallardo will pitch against the A’s unless
the team decides to go another route. Have to see whether Dipoto decides to go
after a starting pitcher. The rest of the series in Kansas City will decide the
answer.
The Seahawks and the University of Washington Huskies
continue their practices along with Washington State Cougars. No news on the
Huskies or Cougar front. The Seahawks
had news where defensive end Frank Clark
punched offensive lineman Germain Ifedi in the mouth on Thursday. Both players
were at practice on Friday but did not participate. Expect that Clark will be
fined and miss some time. Ifedi on the other hand could be disciplined to
because he seems to get in a lot of fights. The Seahawks got good news where
receiver Tyler Lockett was on the field. He said if they had a game he would
play in it. Top pick Malik McDowell was in camp but no news whether he is going
to play this season or not. The Seahawks haven’t said any news about him so
far. He is just on the not able to perform list.
We hope that the Mariners will win the rest of this weekend;
the Seahawks will get ready for their first pre-season game next Sunday. The
Huskies have their first game on September 1.
The Seahawks do continue having competition at running back and
cornerback across from Richard Sherman. The great news is nothing being said
about Sherman.
