Tigers in Detroit to begin their nine game
road trip decided to look at the Tacoma
Rainiers.
The Rainiers are 17-19. They are doing
well at home 10-4, so you can see the
road not so much. Right now at home
against Reno.
Mike Ford who the Mariners required a
second time last year is leading the Rainiers
in average at .314 and second
in home runs with nine. He is at dh and
first base. He is one of those good triple A
players who haven't been able to hit in
the majors yet.
Jake Scheiner leads the team with 11
home runs. Had a good spring training
with the Mariners. Third base is his
position however he has been playing
left field. A solid .280 batting average.
Catcher Brian O'Keeffe is having a
solid season as well with eight home
runs and .265 average. These are the
three main hitters who are having good
seasons.
Veteran Tommy Milone who made a
start in place of Marco Gonzales has
made four starts with a solid 2.57 era.
Rest of the starting pitching not much
to talk or write about.
Matt Festa who began the season in
Seattle is having a solid season as
the closer. Matt has appeared in ten
games with an era of 0.69. Has five
saves in as many opportunities.
Riley O'Brien is having a solid season
to appearing in eleven games with
an era of 1.26. Mostly in relief though
did start three games.
The Mariners are solid in the bullpen
however need any assistance Festa
and O'Brien are good choices. Diego
Castillo has appeared in three games
since being sent down. I am sure he
might be the first to be called up if
needed depending on how he is doing.
The NFL next seasons schedule has
come out. To be honest I haven't looked
at it except I do know the Seahawks play
the SF 49ers on Thanksgiving.
The Seahawks had a good solid draft
in April. May have at least three starters
out of that group. Though the Seahawks
drafted two running backs they signed
a running back as well. Seahawks being
a running team at least half of the time
a good choice to have plenty of depth.
The Kraken are now 2-2 and play Dallas
on the road in next game. Exciting to
watch our first playoff run.
Until next time thanks for checking in.
