on Saturday night in the 8th scoring
seven runs with two outs to take over
a lead the Astros had at 3-0.
Jose Caballero had the big hit driving
in two runs to get things going. Jose
hadn't played in the game until Kolten
Wong was hurt on a play hit to him in
the field. Since Wong has been hitting
well as late hopefully he won't be out
long. Hate to see him go on the injured
list. If do well it be Cesar Hernandez
who is playing for Tacoma take his
spot well see.
Marco Gonzales pitch well in the first
three innings but the Astros were able
to score two runs in the fourth inning
after loading the bases. Unlike the Mariners had a chance against rookie starter JP France in the first inning with based loaded and let him off the hook.
Marco left after the sixth inning while
giving up another run in the fifth inning.
Rookie Juan Then made his debut in
the Seventh inning getting all three
batters he faced. Another key to wait
for the offense to come through.
My advice the Mariners need to find
to manufacture runs instead of waiting
for a big inning. They were lucky in
this one.
Paul Sewald came in and gave up
two runs in the 9th. The key was he
did make some good pitches when
it counted.
So hopefully this gets the offense going
without manufacturing runs they
will need to look at a couple medium
big innings a couple times a game.
Tomorrow afternoon Bryce Miller will
make his second start on the season. It
will be nice if this start be close to
his first start against Oakland. Be nice
to take two out of three from the
Astros with the Texas Rangers come
next into town. We should see Logan
Gilbert, George Kirby and Luis Castillo
in that series.
The Kraken are home against the
Dallas Stars in game three with an
even record of 1-1.
