Day Two of Spring Training

Taijuan Walker is a member of the Seattle Mariners signing a deal on Wednesday. Also, news came out on Thursday Mitch Haniger had to have another surgery so he will be out longer so this gives at least one player more time to impress the Mariners.

The Mariners first spring training game is eight days a week against the San Diego Padres on Saturday February 22. We should see both players who are expected to start in the field for the Mariners well as those fighting for reserve spots and Mariner minor leaguers to show off their talent to the major league staff.

The Mariners position players will report on Monday though some are in camp already.

In college basketball the Washington Huskies men's basketball teams losing streak continued to seven. The Huskies led the game at half-time but USC went on a 9-0 run to lead off the second half. The Huskies in the middle of the game were unable to score for seven minutes. They still had chances to win but without a clutch player were unable to win. Final USC 62 Washington 56.

Washington State Cougars lost in LA as well to the UCLA Bruins  in overtime 86-83. The Cougars were unable to keep a large lead. They were leading in double digits before the Bruins got hot.

Gonzaga didn't play Thursday they will take on Pepperdine on the road Saturday night.
