Nestor Cortes is scheduled to start the opening game of spring training on Saturday. Yusei Kikuchi
will start Sunday's game the first game televised on Roots sports. It will be nice to see how his
new mechanics look. We hope to see the pitcher the Mariners signed before last spring training.
Marco Gonzales is expected to start on Monday. He pitchers every five days then he will be ready
to be the opening pitcher in Seattle on March 26 against the Texas Rangers.
Kendall Graveman will start on Tuesday followed by Justin Dunn on Wednesday. I am sure we
will see Justus Sheffield in the second round of five starters.
Unlike previous season's this year the Mariners will have eight games played before having a
day off so they will probably keep the rotation in order. Starting with the fourth starter they
will have an extra day off in the rotation. This will give each starting pitcher an extra
day off on occasion through out the season. Only other change will probably happen at the
all-star break.
Sunday's game we will hope to see both Kelenic and Rodriguez in the lineup. Though they won't
start the season in Seattle most likely it will give us a chance to see what the future looks like.
