third game in a row after a two
win start. The offense was able
to muster seven hits but scoring
only two runs in a 3-2 loss in the
opening game to the Chicago
White Sox.
Eugenio Suarez was the hitting
hero hitting a home run in the
second inning putting the Mariners
up 1-0. White Sox tied the game
in the 3rd inning.
Matt Brash pitched well in his
major league debut. He deserved
a better result. He gave up four hits,
walked one, struck.out six, two runs
in five and a third innings. Pitching
the way he did Brash is going to win
a lot of games.
Outside of Ty France and JP Crawford
who each had a hit the rest of the
hitters haven't done well though Mitch
Haniger had two home runs in the
two wins against the Twins.
Often the Mariners get off to a slow
start hitting. The pitchers seem to
start the season better. Outside of
Marco Gonzales the Mariner pitchers
have their pitch count up high. You
look at the other teams including the
Twins and White Sox their starters
haven't gone as long. This certainly
help the Mariners bullpen.
Robbie Ray makes his second start
Wednesday. Pitches like in the opener
then the Mariners have a good shot
to end three game losing streak.
Go M's.
