Verlander Shuts Out Mariners

The Seattle Mariners were shut
out Saturday night 4-0 by Justin
Verlander and the Houston Astros.

Not a big surprise since Verlander
has had a lot of success against
the Mariners as well as other teams.

Verlander was able to go eight innings
giving up only three hits with eight
strike outs and not walking a batter.

Chris Flexen pitched a pretty good
game for the Mariners though wasn't
a match for Verlander. Flexen gave
up a run in the second inning followed
by two more in the fifth inning. He
went six innings all total giving up
five hits, one walk and three strike
outs. We wish better results in Flexen' s
next outing.

Matt Bash makes his second outing
on Easter Sunday afternoon. Bash
pitches anything like he did in his
first outing and the Mariners bats
come alive the Mariners have a good
chance to take series.

The Mariners will have Monday off.
The Mariners will have a three game
series against the Texas Rangers
followed by Kansas City Royals next
week. They will go on the road to
Tampa Ray to start  three cities to
end the month of April.

Need came out Mitch Haniger went
on the Covid injury list. Not sure when
he will return. Infielder Donavon Walton
takes his spot. So the outfield will
primarily be Jesse Winker in left, Julio
Rodriguez in center and Jarred Kelenic
in right. Might see Dylan Moore and
Abraham Toro in the outfield. Go M's
