Mariners Lose After Loss of Gonzales

The Seattle Mariners lost a tough
game when Marco Gonzales was
hit in the wrist with one out in the
first inning. The Rays scored a
runner from third on the play as well.
Hard to know how the game would
have played out if the play hadn't
happen.

News came out after the game that
the x-rays came out negative. This
means Marco may not miss a start.

Yohan Ramirez pitched three innings
giving up a couple runs. The rest of
the bullpen did a fine job. The Mariners
used four relievers. After a day off
on Monday the rest of the bullpen
will be available. Chris Flexen starts
the game which begins in the morning
Seattle time.

The Mariners were not able to score
any runs off of Tampa's starting pitcher
Drew Rasmussen a native of Puyallup
Washington. The Mariners could not
handle Rasmussen's off-speed pitches
in his six innings. The Mariners only
had two hits off Rasmussen and he
struck out nine Mariners.

The Mariners were in the game through
out. They lost 3-2 with having a home
run by Crawford in the 7th and Abraham
Toro in the 9th. The Mariners used three
pinch hitters in the 8th inning. I can
understand using two possibly but three
not at all. All three made outs and the
success rate for pinch hitters isn't great.

We can now see whether the Mariners
can take the series than go onto Miami.
Matt Bash, Robbie Ray and Logan
Gilbert are scheduled to start
those games. We hope for a series
win there to. Go M's.
