it easy on themselves but did win
Sunday afternoon 5-4 in 12 innings.
They ended up leaving 24 runners
on base.
Jesse Winker was the hitting star
though he only had one hit which
won the game in the 12th. Winker
has hit the ball hard on many occasions in this first month of
the season. This hit was a dinner
in front of the right fielder. Winker
had a sacrifice fly in the 10th to
tie the score.
Julio Rodriguez had one hit on
the day, however, it raised his
average to .196. Maybe on the
upcoming road trip Julio will
rise above .200 and the Mendoza
line.
Ty France continued his hot hitting
having three more on the day including
a home run in the first inning. His
average is at .375. JP Crawford added
two more hits as well now with a .352
average.
On the other spectrum Winker and Kelenic are batting .154. Cal Raleigh
struggling at the plate .091. Right
now Murphy who is hitting well and
Raleigh will share the catching duties.
Not sure when Luis Torrens be back
from covid injured list. Wonder if all
the guys including manager Scott
Servais will stay in Seattle at the
beginning of this coming road trip.
Robbie Ray was able to go six innings
giving up two runs on five hits, one
walk and five strike outs. His next start
will be on the second leg of the road trip in Miami. Matt Festa rebounded
going one inning walking a batter.
Festa will have to do well this week
to stay on the roster on.May 1. The
same for Matt Koch who pitched the
11th and Yohan Ramirez the 12th.
The Mariners have Monday off as
they travel to Tampa Bay to take
on the Rays. The Mariners are now
10-6 and a game ahead of the Angels.
The Rays are 9-7 a game behind Yankees and Blue Jàys. Go M's
