Most seasons I wish the season would go on beyond the
playoffs and the World Series for the Mariners but this hasn’t been one of
those years.
The first three months were great on how the team played ball
however some of the players forgot about it in July thru the rest of the
season.
I was hoping that the Mariners would win all the games in
this final series so have 90 wins to end it. Now this won’t happen. They will
be lucky to get 88 or 89 wins. Disappointing can’t hit against teams like the
Padres and the Rangers who are down in the bottom of the league in wins.
I don’t want to see Seager or Zunino start the final three
games. They have been part of the problem all year long. They have had poor
seasons before July. They can come in late in the ball game for defensive
purposes. I like them both as people but baseball players who can’t hit a flee
no.
Thursday’s night’s game the Mariners had three hits in the
whole game. Mitch Haniger one of the guys playing consistent all year long had
one of the three. The other two hits were by Ben Gamel spending about a month
in Tacoma or so along with Vogelbach who was in Tacoma most of the year.
Ridiculous can only get two hits off a pitcher having almost six era. Also the
pitcher after him couldn’t get a hit off and he is just under seven.
The loss went to Zach Duke giving up both runs. He shouldn’t
have been pitching. He will be a free agent so why bother pitching him. I don’t
want to see him in the final three games. I do hope we are able to see Alex
Colome and Edwin Diaz in this series even if the game where they don’t need a
setup man or closer. They are a major reason the Mariners have 86 wins right
now. I will let you know who I think should be back and who shouldn’t be. Look
forward to February 2019.
