7-3 on Sunday. My opinion the Mariners
left Chris Flexen in too long. He didn't
have it at all. He gave two runs in the first
inning and another run in the third inning.
Only reason he didn't give up a run in
the second they were able to get out by
a double play.
The Mariners were able to score three
runs in the second inning. Ty France
drove in two runs and Jarred Kelenic
hit home run another to left field.
The Mariners should have taken Flexen
out after the third inning instead left
him in where he gave up three more
runs. Last three starts he has given
up 25 runs in 12 and 1/3 innings. Does
he have a chance to start another or
will he be replaced in the rotation. Robbie
Ray isn't expected back until sometime
in May.
The Mariners now head to Philadelphia
to take on the Phillies beginning on
Tuesday. The Phillies start two lefties
so see more of a right handed lineup.
We will see Tom Murphy at catcher
in one of the two games.
At some point the Mariners will need to
add to the bench where there is little
hitting there. A bright spot Kolten Wong
had three hits on Sunday. We hope this
is the beginning of what we expected.
Go M's.
