Mariners Continue To Slump

Right now when the Mariners need to
play there best ball they are slumping.
Not just the offense the pitching as
well.

Monday's Final Houston 5 Seattle 1

The Astros did what the Mariners
need to do and that is they scored
early. They scored three of their
five runs in the second inning followed
by another in the third.

The Mariners scored only one run
in the eighth inning. Josh Rojas hit
a double off of Justin Verlander.
He scored on a sacrifice fly by Julio.
The Mariners had only three hits
on the night  and two were by Rojas.
The third was by Dominic Canzone.
The rest of the lineup was silent.

Luis Castillo the Mariners were
hoping to do better went six innings
giving up all the five runs. Even if
he pitched better the offense still
needed to produce.

The Mariners have six games remaining
on the season. To make the playoffs
they need to win most of these games.

The Mariners have a record now of
84-72 losing four straight. The Mariners
need to beat the Astros twice even
the wins at 86 and have one loss less
then the Astros. Toronto has 87 wins
so they have the second wild card spot
while the Astros would be third. It won't
be easy however the Mariners still
can get in however they need to win
most of the remaining games. Go M's.
