Looking At The Washington Huskies Football 2026

The Washington Huskies and the Washington State Cougars will begin practice in a month.
Now they are not in the Pac12 together
anymore the Apple Cup this year will be
on September 6 at Husky Stadium.

The Ohio Buckeyes are favored to win
the Big 12 while last years national champion
Indiana is slated for number two and Oregon
at three. Depending who you talk to the
Huskies figured five or six.

The Huskies had a good defense last year
against the run and pass whether they can
duplicate we will see.  The Huskies have four
starters who played every game while ten others did have some experience starting.
Besides graduation the Huskies lost some
on the defensive line to the transfer portal.
The backup lineman are guys they brought
in from the transfer portal so be interesting
to see how they do. We will look at that
closer to the season.

On offense Desmond Williams Jr returns
as  the quarterback. Denzel Washington
wide receiver went to NFL as well as Jonah
Coleman at running back. The Huskies
do have some receivers coming back from
last year.  Running back will be all players
who didn't play at Washington last season.
Jayden Limar a local player transferred to
Washington from Oregon. So we see how
he and the other running backs do. Decker DeGraaf returns at tight end.

The following Saturday after the Apple
Cup the Huskies take on Utah State
then Easter Washington the week after
that. Both are st Washington too. It will
the younger and new players get used
to playing at home as well where they
fit on the team. The first game in the
Big Ten begins on September 26 against
Minnesota at home.

October will be tough as the Huskies
start the month at USC. In fact three
of the four games that month will be
on the road. November the Huskies
will have two at home and two on
the road. The last game of the regular
season will be at Oregon. Could be
important to both teams.

The Cougars with a new head coach
and coaching staff the Huskies are
favored by 21.5 points.  The Cougars
are figured to be in the bottom half
of new Pac-12. The Apple Cup will
tell us where the Cougars likely be.
The Ciugars lost a lot of players going
with a new head coach. We do hope
for good things at both schools.

We will look at Cougars beyond the
Apple Cup. That game will be on NBC.
We will let you know where the other
games will end at. Five of the games
will be on the USA Network a new
partner. The others will be on various
channels. The CW will have only one
Cougar game on.

The CW will bave some Pac 12 games
as well as the ACC and the Mountain
West conferences plus some others.
You will see some national games there
as well as other networks we are used
to seeing.
