Another Walk Off By Ranger Heim

 Rangers 4 Mariners 3

The Seattle Mariners had a good
chance to sweep the Texas Rangers
on the road instead for the second
game in a row allowed catcher Jonah
Heim who dh in this one hit another
walk off home run. Heim hit four
home runs in the series which is
half of the eight he has had on
the season. Whose fault can't totally
say but something should be done.

Like in game two the Mariners offense
had a terrible game including running
mistakes. What I don't understand is
why the Mariners decided to have
Erik Swanson pitch in this game in
the 9th inning. He has pitched well
in his limited time because of injuries.
Though the odds were against this
happening it still happened. When the
team is in the playoff hunt need to go
with the best.

The Mariners were leading 3-1 going
into the 9th then Swanson gave up two
home runs including the walk off to
Heim. I hope Servais learned something
from this experience for one thing go
with your best this way.

Marco Gonzales had another good start
for the Mariners. He deserved a better
feat where should have won the game.
Marco went six inning giving up the
one run on five hits without yielding
a walk and striking out four. Casey
Sadler followed going an inning.

Anthony Misiewicz went an inning
giving up two hits and struck out
the final hitter of the inning. A left
handed specialist I still don't understand
the Mariners having him beginning
an inning whether a lefty he is facing
or not. Since a pitcher who starts an
inning required to face three batters.
I don't like that at all. I like to see
him come in with one or two outs
where he doesn't necessarily have
to face three batters.

Abraham Toro continued his hitting
having three including two doubles.
His misjudgment was trying to get
a triple in his first at bat and was
thrown out. He lead off the inning
so don't really want someone doing
so. I do hope he learned from it.

Jake Bauers was the only one besides
Toro with more then one hit in the
game having two hits including
driving in Toro later on. The Mariners
scored two runs in the second inning
but didn't add on until the seventh
inning.

Now the Mariners go to Tampa to
take on the Rays. Chris Flexen starts
the opening game of the series. We
hope he pitches well to win the so
important game. The Rays are now
in first place of the AL East a half
game ahead of the Red Sox. The
Yankees are at 56-48 while the
Mariners have a 56-50. The Oakland
A's are three and a half games ahead
of the Mariners for the second wild
card spot. The Mariners need to take
at least two games from the Rays
to stay in the race. They have a
four game series against the Yankees
Thursday thru Sunday so that series
would be important to. This week
how the Mariners do will show
whether are still in it or not. Go M's.

I now go to give how some players are
doing on the Modesto Nuts Low Level
A team who are not in the Mariners top
30 prospects.

Luis Curvelo right handed reliever is
20 years old. Luis began his career for
the Mariners in 2018. This year he has
pitched in 25 games so far with an era
of 2.50 with five saves struck out 60
batters just under 40 innings and has
only 10 walks.

Josias De Los Santos right handed
starter 22 years old started in the USA
in 2018 as well. Josias has started 13
games going 67 and 2/3 inning with an
era of 3.80. His biggest issues is having
49 walks along with 64 strikeouts.

Robert Perez first baseman from Venezuela
is 21 years old. Robert is batting .286
with nine home runs and 55 rbi's in 67
games. Robert's biggest issue is he is
striking out just over one time per game.

Next time we will look at a few players
at high level A Everett not in the top 30
prospects
