release of ex-Seahawk Earl Thomas by the
Baltimore Ravens. Not sure what has happened
to Thomas but he isn't the same guy he was
a few years ago. The Ravens released Thomas
for being a disruption in their locker room. It
is bad when your veteran teammates don't want
you around any longer. Will this be the end for
Thomas who had some great years for the Seahawks.
Last Saturday the Seahawks had their first mock
game. Since there are no pre-season games the
Seahawks are going a few mock games as though
they are playing pre-season game. With Covid-19
though they are not tackling taking the player
down they instead grab.
Near the end of the first half Braden Jackson
defensive end though was injured so for precaution
was sent to the hospital. He went home Saturday
night. He looks like he will be OK.
Offensive Coordinator Brian Schottenheiner said
in his press conference Tuesday he wants the ball
in Russell Wilson hands as often as possible. It
doesn't mean the Seahawks will pass the ball more
often but wants everything to go through him.
Russell Wilson according Brian is to have offense
get going earlier. A problem the Seahawks have
had since Wilson has been on the team. The
Seahawks often have scored late in games to pull
them out.
The Seahawks defense is better than last year but
the offense needs to score earlier because the defense
isn't what it was several years ago.
Also according to Schottenheimer the offense line
isn't there yet. I guess we could say when has it
been there. For most of his career Russell Wilson
has had to run for his life on passing downs so
it would be nice for that to change. With the
Seahawks going with a new tackle, guard on the
right side and center it may take a little while
to settle in.
New week we will see where the wide receivers
and running backs are at and any other news
coming back. The Seahawks first game will
be in two weeks from this Sunday at Atlanta
taking on the Falcons September 13. Go Hawks!
