Mariners Outscore The Seahawks

 Raiders 20 Seahawks 7

Mariners 9 Blue Jays 3

There was not a lot to enjoy in the
Seahawks game since Russell Wilson
and the starters didn't play.

Takeaways: Geno Smith and supporting
cast not good in the first half. The Raiders
look good going with third string qb.
So says a lot about the Seahawks backups
on defense help!

Alton Robinson and Darrell Taylor played
well Saturday both played well Saturday
night at defensive end. Showed they got
something there for sure with depth.
Running back DeeJay Dallas had a good
night hauling in a 43-yard touchdown pass
in the third quarter. To be honest I don't
even remember who were at running back
in the first half. The offense was so bad
shouldn't remember. The defense allowed
Raider's third string quarterback to go
down to score in their first possession.
After seeing the Seahawks in their first
possession new it was a long night ahead.

The Mariners offense came alive late in
the game after the Seahawks game was
over. Ty France did hit a home run in the
first inning. Yusei Kikuchi struggled
pitching four and one-third innings.
The Blue Jays scored a run in the second,
third, and fifth innings for all their scoring
against Kikuchi. It was amazing Kikuchi
was able to go that long and only give up
three runs. It didn't help Kyle Seager had
a throwing error and a couple other things
making Kikuchi's pitch count go up. At
least going into the fifth inning allowed
the Mariners not to have to use another
reliever in the game.

The bullpen did a good job only allowing
two hits and one walk. This all happened
after scoring seven runs. In the seventh
inning Luis Torrens hit a three-run homer
right after an important walk to Abraham
Toro. Jarred Kelenic followed with a home
run too. In the 8th inning the Mariners
scored another three runs. Two runs were
off a double by Torrens with the bases
loaded. He just missed hitting a grand slam
home run. In all Torrens had five rbi's. A
high in rbi's in a game for him.

Logan Gilbert will go Sunday night. See
if the Mariners can sweep the Blue Jays.
It would be nice with the playoffs still
in reach. The Mariners have Monday off
as they head to Texas to take on the Rangers
and Astros each in three-game series follow
by two games against the A's in Oakland
before coming home. It will be a success
if the Mariners could come home with at
least 4-4 record.

The series against the Rangers will be the
last for the season while they will play
three more games at home to end the month
of August and three more in Houston at
the beginning of September. So nine of
the next twenty-one games will be against
the Astros. This will give you whether
the Mariners have a chance at the wild
card or not. Certainly a battle for sure.
