Astros Walk Off in 10th

 Astros 5 Mariners 4

It seems the Mariners always
find a way to lose in Houston
no matter what. Houston scored
twice in the third inning. The
Mariners tied it in the fifth then
Kyle Seager hit a solo home run
in the sixth inning to take the lead.
The Mariners added another run
in the top of the 9th, however,
Paul Sewald gave up a two-run
homer in the bottom of the 9th.

The Mariners were unable to score
in the 10th then Yohan Ramirez
gave up a hit for Houston to win
with the runner on second.

I am not a big fan of having the
runner put on second base at the
beginning of the inning. Both
teams do have a chance to score
though. The Mariners have had
success in extra inning games.

My opinion they shouldn't start
this until like the 12th or 13th
inning and go the regular way
before then. How much extra
time does it take anyway?
Another thing why not put the
runner on first base instead. Ok
they want one hit to win the game
but how much harder is it to
get two hits. A lot depends on
the score. In this game both
teams had scored four runs
while maybe more justified
when it is a 1-1 tie.

This game was unusual where
Ty France didn't have a hit in
the game. A rare case for sure.
Also, Jake Bauers then Dylan
Moore didn't have a hit in the
9th spot. Everyone else in the
Mariners lineup had a hit. Only
Luis Torrens had two including
driving in a run as well.

Torrens though not a big average
loves to hit when the ball game
is on the line. If the Mariners
were to sign a free agent during
the off-season or in a trade I
would like them to get someone
like that who wants to do it when
the game is on the line. Who cares
about stats unless the player wants
to do it on the line.

The Mariners and Astros have a
day game. The Mariners have
Thursday off before taking on
the Arizona Diamondbacks at
home this time. It will be nice
to see another sweep. Speaking
of sweep the Mariners  need to
win this one on Wednesday so
they are not swept themselves.

How many losses do you think
the Mariners can afford and still
make the playoffs? With 23 games
remaining not many at this time.
They don't have control of it
either with teams like the Red
Sox ahead of them. Speaking
of Red Sox the Mariners play
a three game series in Seattle
next week. The Mariners may
have to sweep  to stay in the
race. Go M's.
