Kikuchi Had No Control

 Houston 11 Seattle 2

Yusei Kikuchi had a very good
outing in his previous start,
however, this one not so good.
We could say when he is good
he is very good and when he
is bad well you can finish it off.

Kikuchi ended up walking three
batters in the second inning loading
the bases without any outs. Several
hits including a three-run homer
came to pass six runs ended up
scoring.

As you can tell the bullpen didn't
do much better. Justus Sheffield
came in getting the last out. In
the fifth inning Sheffield had
two runs scored against him
before departing with no outs.
Joe Smith came in gave up a
hit and a walk before his
departure. An error by Kyle
Seager meant Sheffield was
charged one earn run.

Sean Doolittle became the
third pitcher in the 5th inning,
then he pitched the 6th as well
giving up three runs including
a couple doubles. This was
Doolittle's second terrible
outing in a row. I wonder
how much longer he will be
in a Mariner uniform.

Recently acquired Matt
Andriese went the final
two innings, giving up
two hits, no runs and
struck out two batters.
He has done well for
the Mariners in four
outings so far giving
up only one run but it
wasn't earned.

Outside of Tora's two
hits the Mariners bats
were quiet. Only Haniger,
France, and Kelenic did
the Mariners have hits.
Nice to see Kelenic get
a hit in the game.

Logan Gilbert goes on
Tuesday night. We hope
he can pitch like he did
in Seattle when he shut
out the Astros. It would
be good to get the middle
game of the three game
series.

Oh by the way be done
with the Astros with this
series over. Come home
and take on Arizona again.

Jake Fraley is the only one
on the injured list to come
back any time soon. He has
been hitting in the cage at
home. Be nice to see him
back in when the Mariners
return home.  Kyle Lewis
maybe out the rest of the
season.  The Mariners only
have 24 games remaining
so might as well have Lewis
get ready for next season.
The only reason bringing
Lewis back would be if
the Mariners are able to
stay in the wild card race.
Go M's.
