and they may make the playoffs after
all. They beat the Oakland A's for the
11th straight time on Tuesday night
4-2. Now they are 1/2 a game out of
the wild card. They win Wednesday
night and the Red Sox lose they will
be in the 2nd wild card spot and just
keep on winning.
Tyler Anderson went four innings
after only two days of rest. This is
normally the day he throws on the
side lines instead willing to give it
for the team. He threw 46 pitches
with 40 strikes; hard to do much
better for sure. Anderson gave up
two hits one a home run in the 4th
inning. The bullpen went the rest
of the way.
The Mariner offense responded by
getting two runs after the home run
given up by Anderson. In the sixth
inning they added another run. The
A's added a run in the top of the
seventh inning making it 3-2 then
Mitch Haniger hit a solo home run
in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The game was close all the way but
the Mariners did what they had to
win. Kyle Seager went hitless in this
game along with Ty France. JP
Crawford had a couple hits and Luis
Torrens had three. Jake Fraley had
one hit which happen to be a double
driving in two runs. The Mariners
always seem to have a different
hero every day. It doesn't matter
what their batting average is they
find a way to do it when it counts.
It shows batting average isn't as
important as when it gets done.
Casey Sadler had his 15 hold on
the season along with going 26
straight games without giving up
a run. That now is a team record.
Now we see Casey add on to it.
The Mariners are exciting to
watch and again who will get
the job done on Wednesday
night. It doesn't really matter
we just know someone will
find the way. The A's know
the Mariners are on a roll
and not sure how to stop it.
We hope stays that way. Go M's.
