having issues winning the opening
game of a series losing to the LA
Angels 4-3.
The Angels scored a run in the first.
It was kept that way as Robbie Ray
pitched a great game going seven
innings striking out ten Angels.
The problem the Mariners offense
was stail most of the game to. The
Mariners have had trouble hitting
Angels starter Patrick Sandoval
each time they have faced him
this year. They were able load the
bases against him in the sixth inning
but like many occasions were not
able to get a key hit to score. Sandoval
was taken out in the sixth inning since
he had thrown I've a hundred pitches.
The Angels scored two runs in the top
of the 9th. Figured it was over however
the Mariners were able to get three runs of their own in the bottom of the
9th. Ty France on his return to the lineup tied the game with a single and two outs. The Mariners actually scored
all three runs with the two outs.
The Angels scored a run in the top
of the tenth with a bunt then a sacrifice
fly. The Mariners were not able to
score in the bottom of the tenth. Carlos
Santana was the first one up so didn't
try the SF he was hoping to win with
a homer but popped up instead. The hitters after him were not able to
produce either.
The Angels and the Mariners have
a day-night doubleheader Saturday.
The Mariners have George Kirby in
the first game followed by Chris
Flexen in the night cap. Hopefully
the Mariners can take both.
