the pitching.
The score was zero to zero heading
into the sixth inning. The Mariners
didn't have a hit until Sam Haggerty
hit a home run. The Yankees had two
home runs in the seventh making
it 3-1 New York. The Mariners scored
three in the bottom of the inning with
a hit by Haniger to score Ty France.
Carlos Santana hit a home run with runner on base to.make it 4-3.
Diego Castillo off the injured list took
care of the Yankees in the 8th and
Paul Sewald in the 9th. Nice to have
that pair back together.
The Mariners are currently in the second spot in wild card. A close
race as five teams have 52 losses.
The Mariners have played more games
than the other four.
Dylan Moore played shortstop to
give JP Crawford a day off after
coming off the injured list. Crawford
HSS been struggling lately at the
plate. Kyle Lewis was sent to Tacoma
to see if he can get his stroke back.
Jarred Kelenic continues to struggle
at the plate too. He needs to do
something if he wants to stay on
the team and play.
With Luis Castillo in the starting
rotation Chris Flexen is now in
the bullpen. Likely he will pitch
when the Mariners need someone
to go two or three innings. He
will not necessarily pitch when
George Kirby does but could.
I am sure it was down to either
him or Marco Gonzales.
Including Thursday the Mariners
have four days off this month.
Should be interesting to see what
the Mariners do because they
will want Luis Castillo and Robby
Ray go every five days. Speaking
of Ray he pitched a fantastic game
Wednesday until got in trouble in
the seventh inning. He threw over
one hundred pitches.
George Kirby will start on Friday
against the Rangers. Not sure on Saturday as of yet.
The Huskies lost defensive line to
a leg injury Wednesday. Ulumoo Ale
was taken off the field. How serious
don't know as of yet. The Huskies
don't have a lot of depth so other
players will have to do their part even
if he is only gone a short time.
Seahawks still not sure who the starting quarterback will be. It
will be an interesting match for
sure.
