some good basketball were beaten
Sunday by the Colorado Buffaloes
58- 55.
It was a close game but as we have
close only counts in horseshoes.
The Cougars now take on Arizona
who they upset on January 7th
74-61 in Arizona. The Cougars are
hoping to do repeat performance.
The Cougars and the Huskies along
with Colorado are tied for seventh
in the Pac-12. Utah who beat both
schools are in second place behind
UCLA.
Former Huskies guard Marcus Tsohonis
who is now at Long Beach State had
49 points on Saturday in a triple overtime
win. Marcus is averaging 14.3 points a
a game this season. He played two years
at Washington before transferring to
Virginia Commonwealth where he was at
last season. The Huskies could be using
Marcus for sure. He was a part-time
starter than exited with six other players
after a terrible season that year.
Jamal Bey a starter for most of his five years
at Washington has been sent to the bench.
He didn't play at all in the win over Colorado
and two minutes in the loss to Utah. It looks
like coach Mike Hopkins is going with the
future playing freshmen Merrifield and Koren
Johnson in the backcourt.
The Huskies are primarily going with seven man
rotation with Johnson and PJ Fuller coming off
the bench. Fuller who started many pre conference
gamesis now back coming off the bench with the
return of Noah Williams who missed many games
because of injuries.
The two freshmen future looks good now it is
hard to know head coach Mike Hopkins future
looks like. The Huskies though talented are not
playing well though did well against Arizona on
the road. The Huskies have to be more consistent
or send Hopkins on his way.
