Mariners Continue To Struggle On Road

The Mariners offense and bullpen
continue to show their inconstancy
on the road.

Tuesday Arizona 10 Seattle 3

Against the Diamondbacks the
Mariners are raking up hits but
they are leaving runners on base.
They had 12 hits Tuesday and
that's how many runners left on
base as well.

The Diamondbacks scored two
runs off of Logan Evans in the
third inning followed by one
each in the fourth and fifth.
Evans being a rookie is going
to look good at times and not
so at other times. When Logan
Gilbert is set to start again which
should be soon Evans will likely
be sent back to Tacoma. Besides
the four runs he gave up seven hits.

The Mariners scored two runs in
the sixth to make things interesting
on solo home runs by Randy Arozarena
and Rowdy Tellez. The trouble
happened in the bottom of the
sixth  when reliever Trent Thornton
gave up five hits and five runs
along with two walks. Three of the
runs came on a homer.

This was Thornton's second relief
appearance since coming off the
injured list. To be honest he hasn't
had a good season at all and how
long will the Mariners go with him.
Right now Thornton is good when
the Mariners are a ways ahead or
behind. If he continues this way
might as well let him loose.

Outside of Andre Munoz and Matt
Brash the rest of the bullpen has
been inconsistent in much the
way of the offense. We were hoping
this road trip would put the Mariners
back to their winning ways.

Wednesday the final game at
Arizona is in the afternoon. We
hope that the Mariners can win
one game in the series.

The Mariners return home on
Friday to play the Cleveland Guardians.
It won't be an easy task for the
Mariners to get back to winning ways.
Go M's
