Seahawks Season Over and More

The Seattle Seahawks lost Saturday afternoon in the first
round of the playoffs to the
SF 49ers 41-23.

Takeaways:

The first quarter looked like what the final score looks like.
The offense and defense couldn't do anything right. The
49ers scored ten while the
Seahawks had zero.

Second quarter both offense and defense came alive and
the Seahawks scored 17 points
while 49ers had two field goals
so Seahawks led 17-16.

Third quarter was like the first
quarter though 49ers scored a
touchdown.

Fourth quarter was worse a
total disaster. Geno Smith
fumbled the ball which the
49ers recovered. San Francisco
ended up with a touchdown then made two point conversation. This point on
the Seahawks defense couldn't
have stopped a fly. The  49ers
scored 18 points this period.
The difference in the game.

Look forward: the Seahawks
have two first round and two
second round picks at this
point in the upcoming draft.
They could trade down and
add more picks or trade up
and have one less pick. Trading
up they could trade either first
pick though number 5 they got
in the Russell Wilson trade most likely. Trading up they swap picks and give up one of
the second rounders. Have to
figure the four picks ahead the
teams are rebuilding and the
additional pick will do.them
well. Get back to this later.

The Washington Huskies beat
California Golden Bears Saturday as  81-78 in overtime.
This game was supposed to
be like the Stanford game on
Thursday but didn't turn out
that way. California led by
seven at halftime and most
of the second. Fortunately
the Huskies rallied to tie at
end of regulations.

The Huskies had hard time
stopping California's freshman
Grant Newell who had 21 points. Newell averages 8.2
points a game. They had three
other players in double figures.

The Huskies were led by Keion
Brooks Jr. with 26 points.
Noah Williams transfer from
WSU who missed most of the
non-league games had his
best game since returning with
22 points. Brooks had his second double in a row with
ten rebounds. Freshman Koren
Johnson coming off the bench
with 15. He is showing now
why he was the best player in
Washington high schools last
season.

WSU Cougars had a difficult
time on Saturday as well though winning 60-59 over
Stanford. The Cougars were led
by Andrej Jakimovski with 17
points. DJ Rodman was the only other one in.double figure
with 15.

The Cougars and Huskies now go on the road to play Utah and Colorado this week. The Cougars are now 7th in the
conference while the Huskies
are eighth. Both teams need
to split the series with Utah and
Colorado to keep their spot at
least.

The Kraken beat Chicago Blackhawks Saturday night
8-5. It is the first time in
NHL history a team sweep
a seven game series on the
road. The Kraken scored six
goals in the first period. I
expect that hasn't happened
often either. The Kraken and LA Kings are tied for second in Pacific division with 56. Las Vegas right ahead with 58.
Kraken record 26-12-4.
